The Last Banana 🍌 On Berneray.

Join me as I jog on around the island of Berneray. I’m running around the whole island which is in the Western Isles -in one day! I am jogging past amazing geology 🪨 and wildlife. See some of our “ sand art ,” we made on our Scottish holiday, along the way. A spiral 🌀 shape to look like an ammonite I helped the kids to make, during the family holiday! The Outer Hebrides, also known as The Western Isles, is an island chain off the north west coast of Scotland. Berneray is a stunning island to see in the sunshine ☀️, enjoy the experience with me. I hope you enjoy watching what I do and find it entertaining. As a fossil hunter and jogger along the Jurassic Coast I keep myself fit. wonderful wildlife out there, I have never seen otters in theire natural habitat, we just saved a dolphin and a dachs yet....

Oh yea! Now I remember that day we saved that badger 🦡 from the cliffs ! It’s so fun 🤩 seeing the Otter 🦦 in its natural habitat it’s a great memory! 🙌

🏃 I’ve got a friend up there on the Western Isles tonight ! It’s blowing a Gale and really raining there at the moment ! What an extraordinary place certainly exhilarating. He and his wife sent me photos of the beaches tonight and the storms 😁

Brandon, you must be super fit after that run. I was wondering if the causeway can be crossed at high tide, or do you get cut off.
Is there any sedimentary rock or is it all metamorphic, regardless, its a wild, beautiful, undeveloped island.

Thanks 🙏 very much Mike that’s a great comment! We were there on the Causeway at high tide and on that occasion the water seemed to flow quickly under it in one part - nearer to the Ferry terminal end ! It’s a lot of metamorphic rock, 🪨 your looking at mostly there ! Quite a few of the old houses there built in amazing blocks of metamorphic rock are in ruins ! But such substantial buildings are still standing the test of time still although mostly a place for wildlife
