LYRICS (scroll down)
Goodbye future, once so bright, meet my pregnant girlfriend
Watch my bank account run dry, 437 dollars spent
To put things back to the way they used to be
Still, I woulda spent so much more
But 437 dollars somehow shakes all responsibility
But it's not easy
She looks me dead in the eyes and says "hey Brian
If you still believe in the Lord above,
Get on your hands and knees and pray for us
Get on your hands and knees and pray for us
The past few months were pretty rough
A couple times, wished we both were dead
I never cried like that before,
I thought my eyes would pop out of my head
Not just preparing for nightmares
Years and years I do suppose
Nothing feels alright now
The length on my hear or the fit of my clothes
I'm crying like a baby, soft and nothing
'Cause I can leave so what now what, so where do I go
'Cause I could imagine myself throwing all my clothes
Inside a suitcase without bothering to fold them
'Cause I could imagine myself throwing all my things
Inside a suitcase without bothering to fold them
She looked me dead in the eyes and says "hey Brian
If you still believe in the Lord above,
Get on your hands and knees and pray for us
Get on your hands and knees and pray for us
Because freshness is expected from any hip hop artist,
I avoid using traditional techniques

Not gonna lie, I dig this like a shovel but at the same time the song uses that shovel to bury me under 17 feet of feelings that need to be suppressed

real i love it
I saw this song in a short and it just brought back sooo much nostalgia. My older sister used to listen to this song all the time when I was little.
Lowkey hate my life rn my parents keep denying everything I say or interrupt me and tell me to shut the hell up and go to my room this song cheers me up a bit even though the lyrics can be very sad
Keep going. I know life is hard but I believe that you can live a happy life someday. You are loved
You can do this, just remember that there are so many different places to call home 🧡

hey Brian if you still believe in the Lord, get on your hands and knees and pray for us.
I was 19 years old when I got my girlfriend at a time pregnant...
I relate to this song in a spiritual level...
I was newly 19 when I miscarried. I feel so evil for considering anbortion when I love and miss that kid so much.
@@argonanarchy3882 love you, sister. don't beat yourself up about it. :) being overly critical to the point where you believe you're a bad person (even though you didn't ultimately do the wrong thing) is essentially a gateway for more evil in the future. not trying to assume you are being overly critical, but offering some encouragement if you were. *virtual hug*
thanks for keeping me sane the last 10 years guys.

the writing ideass THE WRITING IDEAS
I think this song is about a failed abortion, heres why:
The protag (Brain) is oddly specific about his gf being pregnant, and after that it's never mentioned again
Brains gf asks him to pray because if an abortion is failed to a certain level the patient could die
"Still, I woulda spent so much more." An abortion is suppost to cost around 1k dollars, usually its better to spend more money in that that of stuff
But 437 dollars somehow shakes all responsibility" when they payed for the abortion they didnt have to worry about being parents, and buy spending
"Cause I could imagine myself throwing all my things inside a suitcase without bothering to fold them" Since Brain and his gf are only dating Brain might have felt to much responsibility being a father and left her if she decided to keep the baby
And now, instantaneously, my guilt for learning by tabs is gone 🤘🩷 thanks for a new favorite song 🤘🩷🩷
This is PUNK! I just stumbled across this and love it! Thanks!
it may have a different meaning but the "get on your hands and knees and pray for us" hits so hard bc i was forced into christianity
The part that says "hey brian, if you still believe in the lord above, get on your hands and knees and pray for us." Reminds me of Kenneth Phelps to Travis Phelps.
GET ON YOUR HANDS AND KNEES FOR THIS SONG FR
I know this song is about abortion, but when it says “if you still believe in the lord above get on your hands and knees and prays for us” it reminds me of when i was 12 and prayed God to make me like boys like the other girls.

P.P.S TECHNIQUES TECHNIQUES TECHNIQUES TECHNIQUES TECHNIQUESTECHNIQUEEESSSSSSSS
ik this is a very late reply, but... 'traditional' could be a metaphor for traditional Christian values, as the song mentions praying. This could also be because the song is possibly talking about abortion. or the lack of traditional techniques for birth control, like contraceptives. :)
@@bella-629 I'm late so sorry for the random notif lmao. I think you're on the right track. From what I understand, the "traditional techniques" he's referring to is specifically prayer. But this has to do with how the narrative of the song is framed. The situation isn't happening to the singer, it's happening to the person who asks him to get on his hands and knees to pray for them. When asked to do so the singer's response at the end is, "since freshness is expected from any hip-hop artist / I avoid using traditional techniques". Instead of praying, because praying is a "traditional technique", the singer decides to show their support in a way that is more fitting for the kind of artists they are. That support is this song as it is a way that the singer can show their support in a way that they feel fits them more than prayer. That's always been my thoughts on the end of the song, it certainly is deceptively deep for what reads like one of their more decipherable songs on paper lol.

Personally as a devoted young Christian, I don’t think abortion is a great choice. I understand how pregnancy can be very hard for women but I think just killing it isn’t always the best. If you want to ask questions or just talk I’m willing to discuss!
Mm, what would say if like, the girl was raped and having the baby would be traumatic? Or in the case that the girl is a teenager, having the baby could destroy or malform her body for life.
@@M0ldy-FleshCoud that is one of the most difficult decisions to make for sure. However, you could try to keep the baby. There is always an opportunity to give them up for adoption. There are many women who are infertile/single/unable to have kids, who would love to take them in as their own. I understand that pregnancy itself if very stressful but always know that it isn’t just a clump of cells. If it comes to the point where it’s either you or the baby, it then should be her choice however I would chose the baby over myself.
@@M0ldy-FleshCoudstill. It's basically murder...
@@Soapie711 as a Christian its kinda required to have an abortion if its risking the mother's health because otherwise the mom and the baby wont survive. but if she gets r@ped i believe she should have the choice to keep it or not because it can be very traumatic, although if the baby reminds her of the father she can always put it up for adoption. but i think even teenagers who do the thing and are upset when they get pregnant despite knowing full well what was going to happen do not deserve to get an abortion unless it's risking their health because they chose to do it. people who do the deed and choose to get an abortion are horrible people. i would love to hear your opinion if you dont agree with me
@@rosalikestomakemusic I actually agree with you. I’m just saying that if there is a chance to help the baby survive let it survive with help. It’s better one than two.
I know this song is abt abortion but this is my main therapy song besides "be nice to me"
