I’m 74 and I remember neighbours looking out for and helping each other. Today the farms are larger, each farm has all their own equipment so each farmer is more independent. The Amish and you living among them have retained that same neighbourly way of life. Good to see.
Being a retired Hay dealer, I can appreciate that gift for sure. Nice looking Barn too!. great to have Neighbors like you two. I'm sure the day will come when he will and can return the favor/gift. tis God's way. Thanks for sharing.
What a great gift in this situation. I sure the new neighbors loved seeing it, moving is hectic enough they didn't have too worry about getting the horses fed while settling in.
An unusual and thoughtful gift for the newly weds. Why am I not surprised to learn you’re a nurse. I hope you were able to avoid the COVID madness. Stay safe.
Since our winters are fairly cold I used to cut a few extra cord of firewood each year to give out as Christmas gifts. Practical gifts like that are always appreciated. Have a good one.
My father was a tractor man, but we also had horses when I was a kid, for riding. The thing I miss most about it is the neighborliness of farming; I'd love to get back to that life one day--but this time, no tractors, please. Thank you for a wonderful video! you two rock.
iv never seen silos with tops like those before i just found your videos and enjoy how you guys do all this work on your own if i werent so old id see if jim could teach me all this just to learn it .
Yes their sound is always amazing, we call it neigh! or whinny! it is also a greetings to other horses from behind or far. are you one of horse lovers?
Yes that is a great manifestation i really love a life like this! my late dad was a ranch owner with farm but pity me! i did not show much interest till the farm is down. i love my work.
This was an excellent gift whether Amish or just new neighbors. Hay can be utilized for an array of needs. Continue to pray during the Covid outbreak.💜

I loved the bounce bale. As soon as I saw that I thought he knows how to throw hay. I remember stukking hay, piling on the wagon and stacking in the mow. You learn quickly how to throw hay. The Shetlers you say. Northern new York sounds like Huevelton area and likely grandchildren or great grandchildren to Ben Shetler who I remember from the Chesley Ontario area. Ben was a very fine man. My wife and I looked him up in 03 or 04. We had a nice visit with him in his harness shop. We later heard he passed away a month or so later.

Question: why did you use the skidder as opposed to the wheeled trailer when delivering hay ?
It pulls harder, so they get more exercise, which they needed at the time

Amish usually get married in November after the crops are all in. Always like a woman the can handle a bale of hay or straw. Worth keeping
Oh strong woman be careful and don't cross that kind of woman she can take care of herself. 😆 lol and take care of you
Jim, your wife is definitely a "keeper" !! Anyone who can move heavy bales of hay is a "keeper" !! AMEN ?
