- The Street Dance Performance of Tribu Pan-Ay Dinagyang Festival, IloIlo. The Grand Slam Winner of 2012 Dance Competition of Aliwan Festival.
The mighty Philippine eagle used to inhabit the mountains of Panay, taking pleasure in its richness. It was a dwelling place that the magnificent raptor shared with other swift, agile, and ferocious hunters -- the indigenous Ati. Despite the pact that the villagers forged with nature to respect, nourish, and protect the environment, colonization and eventual modernization began to encroach-threatening the peaceful coexistence that had reigned. While there were those who resisted change, the call of progress led to a clash of wills within the tribes, leading to a ferocious display of combat skills. The denuded forests took their toll on the eagles' nesting places, and it was with the greatest determination that the villagers sought to make up for the damage. Drawing divine inspiration from the statue of the Infant Jesus introduced by the colonizers, the Atis invoked both pagan and Christian fervor to restore the good quality of life that they had been blessed with. Here are the students of Fort San Pedro National High School as Tribu Pan-ay delineates the Iloilo Dinagyang festival!

I am from Surigao. I must say, magaling talaga ang Dinagyang. They deserve the title for BEST FESTIVAL DANCE in the Philippines. Pang FRONT ROW in promoting Philippine festivals allover the world. In respect to Buyugan, and other festivals in Visayas and Mndanao, we should admit, pare pareha lang ta ug style sa SINULOG, wa tay kaugalingon identity ky movements props musicality sa atong festival nagkaperaha lang unlike DINAGYANG VERY UNIQUE.

Every festival has their own way of whatever shitty dance it is.. Bet ko yung buyogan at dinagyang to make it to the top because I was there personally. Buyogan has the true synchronized dancing. But its the uniqueness and energy of dinagyang makes it breath taking and i was no longer surprised when I heared dinagyang ang nag champ.. its a total performance by dinagyang not to mention the props. Anyway, Buyogan has already marked the aliwan including sa mga manonood as one of the best performers.. salute to all of you.. So mga utak talangka dyan manahimik na kayo.. coz its not the way you suppose to promote your religious festival or whatever fucking festival it was..gusto nyo pa stop ko na aliwan para wala nang gulo eh..lol..
don't get me wrong. i speak for myself, thus not from bought sides. i think dinagyang should be danced that way. it is their culture or whatever you call it. if they don't dance it that way, it will no longer be dinagyang. same as Sinulog. must be dance the way it is because, they say its a prayer. it will not be sinulog trademark if dance impropely. in this competition, whoever has the most clear concept in the eyes of the judges (and ofcourse, the eternal choreography, musicality, audience impact if there is any, and etc.) wins. it is the uniqueness of the festivals they are portraying. respecting other festivals is needed here. why don't you sinulog people dance dinagyang and dinagyang lads dance sinulog. it will surely bring you to your sense that these festivals have unique ways of expression. by the way, im from Cagayan de oro, the city of golden friendship. wala mi in-ani sa CDO nga mga festival dances. we have a patron though. kung naa pud dili jud mi mu-match sa inyo kay grabe jud kaayo hehehehe just saying. i envy your places for having been representing your festivals in Aliwan all this time.

Ang eengot naman ng nag-cicriticize ng Dinagyang. May masabi lang, hindi naman kelangang iba-iba ang ipe-prepare na routine para sa Aliwan at para sa Festival competition nila in their respective provinces. Kaya okay lang kahit ulitin nila yung routine. Besides, ang pag-kagrand slam ng Dinagyan eh dahil sa sila na lage yung nananalo. The DINAGYANG itself, whatever kung anong tribe pa ang angdadala, ang usapan sila yung festival. That's what ALiwan Fiesta is all about. ^_^v

Iba iba ang representative ng DINAGYANG sa aliwan every year maraming magagaling na tribes like tribu PAN-AY THE ICONIC EAGLE, the TRIBU PANAYANON THE ICONIC BAKUNAWA, and the TRIBU SALOGNON SA TURTLE AND THE MONKEY
I can see that this presentation is outstanding..but remember, we cannot really claim a grand slam title in this year's Aliwan Festival because it is not the same Tribe who champed last 2010..It was not Pan-ay, it was paghidaet..Pan-ay only won the grand prize last 2011 and this year..Unlike the Aliwan champion from 2006-2008 wherein it was the same Tribe (Lumad Basakanon of Cebu)...If we see it by the tribe, Pan-ay has not yet reached the grand slam....2 years plang cla nag champ sa Aliwan....

Hopefully di pa huli ang lahat for both festival to have an entry this 2015. Last performance by sinulog in 2014 was superb likewise ung last performance ng dinagyang 2013.. I was comparing the performance of both though its not of the same year but di ko na imemention if sino panalo para sa akin..para wala nang gulo.. but for those whose not one sided alam nyo na kung sino mananalo if ever they both performed that in the same year..haha

Yong sinulog segurista pag alam nilang matatalo sila di sila sumasali. Tingnan mo ang trend 2010,2011,2012,2013 nagjoin ba sila. Kesyo wala daw budget tapos pag nagsalita laki nang papremyo nila tapos walang budget sa aliwan. Sabihin nyo wala talaga kayong binatbat ayaw lang mapahiya sa manila 😂

Dinagyang is Countries Best Tourism Event and Hall of Fame na!

What are those unnecessary musical instruments? those are not traditional dinagyang musical instruments. you are supposed to be warriors! Please Dinagyang don't disappoint me just because other festivals use those musical instruments like flutes and xylophones that doesn't mean we follow them! Choreography and costume/ props wise, SUPERB! Musicality? It S-U-C-K-S! Kung hindi dahil sa choreography at sa costume/ props this could have been a BORING performance. :)
