My grandpa taught us how to to use this trap with a string used to pull while we are stalking on the other side of window. He would mumble about his disliking into catching birds and lecture how they should be free and never caged. He caught one just to entertain our innocent yet curious minds just to realize he loves us alot. Miss you grandpa

Some dumb bird play with the loop and it tightened on its neck and eventually it got hung

Some people in this comment section are over the top. Not only did he make something scientific, but he was careful with the bird as shown in the video. I’m sure he likes birds and wishes to pet them at least once. So many dislikes because of ignorant and uptight people. There are animal lovers out there that understand this form of work

The House Sparrow, Passer domestica is one of the most common birds found almost worldwide. It feeds on seeds, small nuts and insects. In some places it is consumed by humans. Common bird in the Cities and Suburbia. The male has the brighter plumage with a blackish throat, the females and juveniles are more drab in coloration.

I have two of these as pets. Interestingly, even though mine are time and friendly, they are just as careful as these wild ones, always looking out for danger. One of them wakes me up each day by biting my toes. They make great pets if you get them very very young where you are feeding formula.

A couple of years ago wild hamsters were destroying plants from my family's garden, so we placed a trap to catch and release them in the wild. One day, I was in the garden and I heard the trap's door slam shut. Ran to see what happened and found a female sparrow inside. Poor thing was so scared and in shock that she didn't move when I got her out. She was in my hands for around 15 minutes before she came to her senses and flew away. I'll never forget how I held this baby in my arms. I hope she's still alive and well.
