    I actually used a funnel to try and get the product deep into the holes.

      ☀️Good idea! Did it work good for you? My backyard filled in nice. 👍

      @@SunnyBermuda Ha, "the struggle is real" Our lot was a moonscape. Every time it rained the dust washed away leaving pebbles. That was what we started with. We have been trying to build soil for 4 years now. Dumping used coffee/tea grounds, earthworms and their castings, compost, chicken feed, you name it. Can't say what worked the best but I really think pushing the carbon down was a big help. After a few years, we finally got a good soil test back.

    I've never seen hand drilling the lawn. This is hard core, especially with the music!

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  4 роки тому

      Yeah!! Hard core for hard clay! 👍. Thankfully it was just a small area. Don’t think my drill would survive much more.

    It would be awesome if you could post an update vid. Thinking about doing this myself.

      ☀️Yes, it worked really well. Check out my episode 17 Summer Update where I show my progress in that area. I believe the vertimulching along with aeration and GreenTRX fertilizer it took off!! I still throw extra soil amendments in that area, too.

    Interesting. Never seen this before. Learn something new every day. Good stuff dude!

      Thanks, I could have used it after aerating, but I figure the bigger holes from the bit would hold more of the good stuff. It's already spreading a week later.

      Thanks! I'm recording on a GoPro 8 Black at 2K and 60fps. The 4K and 30fps was too large of a file for my lightweight PC. Thank you for watching!

    I like that, I do kinda the same thing with the pro plugger, but your way does seem better on harder soil (which I have)

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  4 роки тому

      Yeah, my red clay laughed at the pro plugger. That dirt was hard! Thanks for watching!!

    How many bags per 1,000 sq ft did you use or recommend? Can you lay this using a landzie compost spreader instead of by hand/shovel? Cheers

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  3 місяці тому +1

      I only used a couple bags for this small area. Not sure how many would be needed to cover 1,000 sq ft.

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, a compost spreader would work great.

    Great video as always. I want to try the Granular version but they don't have it at any Ewing near me. Congrats on reaching a new milestone on over 100

      Do you have a SiteOne? Looks like on the Mirimichi Green web site that the new Granular version may be a Lesco branded product. Thank you!

    Is there an update video on this project and how it’s progressed? How many of apps of the carbonizpn have u done so far?

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  4 роки тому +1

      I’m actually considering shooting an update video tomorrow to show the progress of my first year. I did one other app of the CarbonizPN. My lawn has filled in all the areas except a little around my tree where it’s still pretty hard. Stay tuned and thanks for watching! 👍

    I am dealing with the same hard red clay here in OK. Just aerated with that same Ryan machine you have 💪🏼💪🏼 might go drill some holes now in the harder spots the aerater wasn’t successful lol good work sir! Just sub’d

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  4 роки тому

      Great to hear! Thank you for subbing and watching! The drilling and Mirimichi really helped my bare spots. Keep me updated on how your hard spots turn out. ☀️

    What's the benefit of vertical mulching rather than aerification?

    • @SunnyBermuda
      @SunnyBermuda  4 роки тому +2

      They are basically the same in regards to turf. This process allowed me to create larger holes to fill with the Mirimichi Green. Plan to aerate one more time this late May and fill with so sandy loam/biochar/humic. This area should rock and roll by July 4th! At least that's my goal.
