    Product Description (from CBD):
Honor the Legacy of the King James Version
This KJV Personal-Size Sovereign Collection Bible is a part of the elegant Sovereign Collection and continues Thomas Nelson's long history with their stewardship of publishing excellent Bibles. King James Sovereign Collection editions draw from the legacy of the trustworthy and timeless KJV with elegant drop cap illustrations leading into each chapter, the exclusive Comfort Print typeface inspired by centuries-old Thomas Nelson editions, and more classic Bible details.
In 1611, the King James Version Bible, also known as the Authorized Version, was published. Nearly 50 of the day's finest scholars, all from the Church of England, had been organized into six groups for the task. Using the Bishop's Bible of 1568 as the basis for this revision, the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew and the New Testament from Greek. The completed work was then peer-reviewed before being sent to bishops and other church leaders for their examination, and ultimately to King James, monarch of England and Scotland, for his approval. Today, more than 400 years since its initial publication, the bestselling King James Version Bible continues to inspire, encourage, and strengthen people from all walks of life. The KJV is considered one of the most influential and beautiful works of literature in the English language and continues to be the favorite translation for millions of Christians.

I bought an NKJV Sovereign Collection Bible in brown leathersoft, and I love it. The cross references are easy to read, compared to other Bibles that are similar in size. The font is the best part of it, as plenty of ink is used on every page, including the red lettering, which is much appreciated. There is very little ghosting, despite the bold print. It is very enjoyable to read. I especially appreciate Thomas Nelson's translation notes, which cite the textual differences between the Textus Receptus, the Critical Texts, and the Majority Texts.

This would be a lovely gift for an established Christian who is familiar with the King James Bible, since it is missing the pronunciation helps within the text. Since this is such a clean copy, it would be a wonderful take-along to Church or Bible Study. It is also attractive enough to leave on a nightstand or end table, encouraging its owner to pick it up and read it, frequently!

Mainly using the Cambridge KJVs, I must say the pronunciation "help" is annoying. In many cases it makes me have to look up the assist in the beginning of the Bible. I think Thomas Nelson got it right on this particular issue.

I used to read other versions of the Bible. But God has opened my eyes and now I only read the King James Version. However, I’m not a King James Version onliest, just a received text onliest and because the NKJV uses both lines of manuscripts I reject it.

It's potentially dangerous to justify something by saying God showed you. I could do the same. I feel like He shown me that all major a byzantine priority should be had, and with all manuscripts, the correct reading should be discovered.
So whos right? I don't prefer the Critical text, but including it with all the others isn't a sinful maneuver, after all, in the end, they are Bible copies, whether perfectly copied or not (and I'd say not) but none are, but that doesn't mean we can't sparse out the truth from among all that we have. God has certainly given us that, all these manuscripts to find the reading which may be correct.

This is very nice. The Translator to the Reader should have been included and that would complete the classic look they were looking for. Nevertheless, a very good looking Bible. The leathersoft editions are available on Christianbook.com since February 9, and are going for about $25.99 in three colour variations, black, purple and brown all of them have raised ribs too. Wonderful Bible.

Why did Nelson change "dominion" to "domination" at 2 Cor 1:24? Was ready to buy on Amazon but a reviewer there pointed this out, thinking it is a typo. No so, same change can be found in The KJV Foundation Study Bible. Wondering how many other Nelson KJVs have this change, and possibly others.

I really like your bible demonstration bibles. One thing as a visually impaired person I'd like to point out, would you please say more about print size and and boldness, plus show through as well as page whiteness as these don't show up so well on video. This would be a great help for those out there like myself out here who happen to have sight loss. I personally appreciate 'comfort print', even though I still need extra visual aids in order to have a chance at reading it.

I like it. It actually kind of looks like a lot like a Cambridge from the front, but when you open it, it looks like the premier collection and the Canterbury had a baby. I have a PSC that I never read from, the font is just a hair too small and the leading a hair too close for me, personally. It may be that I would actually enjoy this one more. Great review.

      @DesignInNature Рік тому

@@jackdillon4467 I know this comment is one year old. But I wanted to say that I'd never personally recommend a current production Thomas Nelson bible over a Schuyler.
Not only for the Christian/gospel implications of supporting a Bible that is now made in China, where Christianity is heavily persecuted. But also for build quality reasons.
Made in China copies of western production items always get the "Look" right, but the quality of the workmanship and materials used like stitching and glue are always sub-par for obvious cost cutting reasons.
For someone who wants the top of the line KJV with a modern typeset in a beautiful package, the Canterbury is hard to beat.
But honestly, in the price range you can buy the "Sovereign" collection from Nelson, you are much better off buying a Church Bible Publishers handsize Bible. Made in America, rugged and built to last. Can't beat paying $65 for a Bible that screams "Durability" the moment you hold it in your hands. CBP also includes the "Translators to the reader" epistle, and even in their handsize they include a good concordance and Bible dictionary in the back. Lastly, they are a ministry. So you are not only buying the Bibles almost at cost, but you are also supporting the preaching of the gospel each time you buy from them.
I have a Schuyler canterbury for home study and pleasure reading. But my CPB Turquoise goes with me to church and everywhere else. Just a great quality workhorse of a Bible.

I read the apocrypha years ago and found it to stray into fantasy land to be honest. It’s an interesting read but its very clear why this is not part of the official cannon of scripture. From that perspective it really is not essential it’s just and historical add on so I never understand the fuss I would rather read truth when I read the Bible. This would make that bible even bigger as well as it being single column and it would not be personal just a massive bible. This is designed for easy carry and the person who wants quality but doesn’t want to spend a fortune.
