You remember Henry Ford used to say you could get these in any color you want, as long as it's black. LOL This is awesome Brother! Very refreshing to see old classics. This also looks like it would have been a ton of fun to build and I bet it's even more fun to drive! What a cool little truck!

ScottieDTV That would be awesome Brother! That would be a cool way of getting around at some of the bigger shows! Use this instead of a golf cart. :-) For that matter you could probably set one of these up with that little propane engine they use in golf carts and it will go a little faster. LOL

The first production car Ford build was the "model A" followed by the models B, C,F, K N, R, and model S. Those model preceded the Model "T" which started its 19 year production run in 1909. I own a 1926 Model T and have researched Ford history extensively. The model A that they are referring to came out in 1928.

Cool!! My Great Grandfather (on my mom's side) bought a new 1912 Model T. He owned a farm in PA. He was issued a leather license plate, with brass numbers, from PA.

Awesome car. Your 2 by 4 is small than 2 by 4 because the rest of the world uses the simpler and more accurate metric system so all your timber is cut to 90/45 mm
Strange because even in the Netherlands in Europa you get your wood sawn in inches. 2 by 3 or 2 by 4 etc...My father called it 2 bij 3 tje. Bij is pronounced by, like in the US. Nice car.

The button on the floor which was called a "kill switch" was the starter switch on the Model "T" I used to drive.

Through the decades one could order an all new engine from the Sears n Roebuck catalog to fit this vehicle,or the model A,and it would arrive with the mail usually,and you swapped them out in the yard using a piece of pipe,and two guys as the lift if you did not use the services of the local blacksmith/garage....

As to "why did the Model A come after the Model T" at point 0:44 on the video, the Model A you are probably familiar with was introduced in 1928.....AFTER the famous Model T in 1908 you are familiar with. However, Ford introduced is FIRST MODEL A on July 23, 1903.

Also the Models B,C,F,K.N,R, and S came before the Model T.
The model T came after the original version of the model A, then they reused the name model A again after the 'T' for a completely different automobile. I think all the letters were used up to 'T', though some never got off the drawing board (or a new letter was assigned for very minor variance made to previous models).

It didnt. There was a ford model A in the very early 1900s pre world war 1. Then the model T came. And the original model A was discontinued. It wasnt until model T sales dipped and GM was leading the market that Ford brought back the model A and that is the model A that most people are familiar with.

Ford "jumped" from Model "T" to Model "A" because their first car was a Model "A" and they had run through the entire alphabet in their development including the "X" engine. Should/Could have been branded the "New" Model "A".

First of all the vehicle looks great! Very nice custom restoration. But not at all like it would have looked in 1915. I would like to set a few facts straight about the comments made in this video. At the beginning you state that they were just chassis. You understood incorrectly. Ford may the complete car and offered several body styles. Yes you could buy just the chassis but that was usually a Model TT which was a one ton frame which was then taken the the coachworks to have a body make for what ever business needed. Ford did not offer a pick-up all pickups at that time were the roadster with the trunk shell removed and a aftermarket truck bed put in it's place. The question why did "T" come before "A"? It did not the original Model A was built in 1903 and was a curved dash design. The Model A most people know about was the second Model A. The Model T only came in the standard frame and a one ton no other frames. The tools are nice but the jack is not a Model T jack and the gas dipstick was an aftermarket item and did not come with the vehicle. This vehicle being a beautiful vehicle is not truly a 1915 . I can see that the truck is made from parts from different year models. The tires on this truck have demountable rims which was not available until 1919. The coil box in 1915 and later was metal not wood. What you thought was the headlight dimmer and the other guy says is an electronic kill switch is actually the starter button you would press with the heel of your foot. Model T's did not have electronics and an electronic kill switch could not be installed. The tires for a 1915 would have been 30". The rods on the steering wheel the guy stated backwards the one on the right would be gas and the left would be spark. The NAPA logo is not from 1915 because NAPA was not founded until 1925. The gentleman you were talking to said he did the research but obviously did not do enough. I have not doubt that they restored the truck back the way is was when it came in, but it was not original to 1915 and by the laws of DOT it is no longer a 1915 the earliest it can be considered is a 1922 because the motor is a 1922. I just wanted to correct the facts for your public so everyone knows. I get frustrated when one of my customers brings a Model T or any other car and ask me to make it just like it would have been when it came off the showroom floor and then wants something changed because they watch a video like this and thing that it is period equipment when its not . I have been around antique cars for over 45 years and own a shop that restores them. But that being said they did do a very nice job on this truck.

You know Scottie, most folks now a days think Henry Ford developed the first car. Sorry to say he did not. He developed the assembly line.Then he created the 40 hour work week. Then he had a large hand in creating the UAW ( the united auto workers union). In my opinion the union was the worst thing he did and I was a Master Auto Technician.
In truth Karl Benz of Germany in about 1880 through 1886 who created the internal combustion engine. The patent for it was in 1886 under Karl Benz and it was called the Benz Patent Motor Wagen. Benz was the biggest part of that creation. A few of the men went on to become Mercedes-Benz in 1924. A French born man of German Descent named Rudolf Diesel invented an internal combustion engine that ran on what we now call Diesel. It would ignite the fuel from the heat created from high compression. Mercedes quickly like the idea. It had more power for there trucks and got better fuel mileage. Then they added them to there cars for economic reasons. Diesels are very popular through out the world, except for America. Americans just couldn't deal with the noise that diesels made. Well thankfully they are making a come back in America now.
Scottie I don't know if you remember me or not. We even talked on the phone once about getting into what you do. I have had a total of 4 back surgeries and 3 neck surgeries. Plus I have the chronic pain in all my joints. They have even put a pain pump inside me. No results.

+CarlsCustomCreations Henry Ford DID NOT create the UAW! He hated the idea of unionization of his company. He hired thugs to beat up union organizers, My grandfather worked at Ford at the time in Detroit. However, he did create the first $5.00 paid work day, (huge money in those early automotive days).
+CarlsCustomCreations - Henry Ford was the last holdout to agree to the union. GM and Chrysler signed but Henry refused but finally gave in. Henry did not have a hand in creating the UAW.
