  • The Airgun Show - day and night hunting for crows and rabbits, PLUS Pellpax HW110 kit on test…
    We join Richard Saunders on a farm where corvids and rabbits are causing problems. Although there’s a chance of bagging a crow or two by daylight, the bunnies are proving wary and it takes a nocturnal approach to bring them to book.
    Combo packages offer great value for money, and we’ve got the Weihrauch HW110 Carbine Deluxe Kit from Pellpax on the bench. Apart from a brilliant air rifle, this kit also include a 3-9x50 scope with mounts, bipod, silencer, lined hard case, ammo, and even a three-litre air bottle. Tune in to see what Mat makes of it.

    Another excellent episode guys! The BSS 2020 was a great day. I got to chat to Mat for a few minutes. Really nice guy! He confirmed something I was wondering for a while... Nicky, is real. Not this imaginary person Mat blames when he's cold and wants to go home! 😂😁
    Cheers! 👍

    Hi Guys just wondering why Richard is not using the Ballistic computer that is built into the ATN? Is it just because he had not tested it prior to the shoot or is it just that he is Old School and like to use hold over ETC? Either way still a great hunt.
    Stay safe and shoot straight Brothers.

    Great ATN great I am Impresses from ATN.
    Please forward my suggestion to ATN company use any possible way that company need improve the ATN marge the ABL under the ATN install the ABL Technology under the ATN in one package I know from this addition increase the price & weight of ATN but company need to make two type of ATN the first one is this one & the second one is new which include ABL.
    Because benefits of this addition we are not measure distance manually for hunt also not use extra Rangefinder/ABL for this purpose I hope the ATN action about my opinion Thanks.

      Thanks Chopper. I know its different for everyone, but I limit my 12 ft. lbs. hunting to 30 metres with a .22 and 40 metres with a .177. When I know shots over that distance are likely I use an FAC rifle. I know people will come on here and say they shoot 50 metre plus with their 12 ft. lbs. gun, but I can only talk to my limitations.

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 5 років тому +1

      Hi Wolverine. It does, but the onboard range finder requires you to frame your target between two cursors and then calculates the distance based on the size of what you are ranging - I think the options are a hare, pig and deer. The ABL rangefinder uses a laser beam, like a conventional range finder, and in my experience is a lot quicker and easier to use, and more accurate. I hope that helps.

    Why FAC when most people use 12lb?, real air gun shooters on you tube use sub 12.

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 5 років тому +1

      Hi Baldy. The farm is quite heavily pressured and although its possible to get closer, most of the rabbits present themselves at 40 metres plus, even in the dark. Hence, the added range of the FAC rifle is helpful. As I said in the film, the farm is also quite open and nearly always has a strong breeze so the heavier .25 pellets help with that too. Most of my hunting and pest control is with a 12 ft. lbs. rifle but for the reasons stated here, and in the film, an FAC on that venue is more effective. I appreciate not everyone is fortunate to have an FAC, but I am and it makes sense to use the best equipment for the environment. I hope that helps.
