What's crazy to me is that Italy's government allows useless, pointless rowdy concerts that don't need to even exist at ancient historical sites that should be preserved and protected.

I was there. When people started jumping up and down, the front part of the circus maximus (about 2/3 of it) flexed up and down by what felt like 2 or 3 inches. We are talking about 22 football fields worth of rock solid 2000 year old dirt, although i must say there are a few ancient tunnels below the surface which were used as service tunnels back in the day.
When kanye entered stage the flexing peaked, and it felt more like being on a boat than an actual earthquake, but people in the surrounding area must've felt higher frequency vibrations much like a real earthquake.
I was absolutely shocked and didn't know solid ground could do that.

Earthquakes are caused by colliding edges of tectonic plates in the Earth's crust causing friction that builds a colossal amount of energy that is released when the edges break free, the energy spreads upwards throughout the region creating the shaking sensation we all feel. This is a stadium full of jumping drunks causing waves of vibration to travel down and outward through the crust with much less severe intensity. Just because it breaks some stone columns doesn't make it a natural planetary occurance, there's a massive difference between the two. Get your science right or stop talking about it like you know the facts.
