Ive been a Chief's fan since Tamarick Vanover. Enough said. At 61 I've counted the passing of many years in the Kingdom with a sense of never ending desires for us. We all know... those hard times. We have been gifted the most amazing show - not just in the NFL - and the K is just celebrating the incredible moments. Reid, Mahomes, Trav! And now Trav's new girl. I wouldn't say hate but we gotta understand that at her level of fame she is her own brand. It's completely fair to ask if there has been some board room hand shaking when the NFL and team media accounts are heavily promoting her presence at the games.
It would be smart business if they were already planning to go public with an organic relationship, and if not it would be a completely rational business opportunity to begin with.
It's not that people hate that she's there, it's that now there is hardly any talk about the Chiefs and their games. It's just gonna be Taylor Swift every week when people are looking for sports broadcasting and articles, not TMZ.

The NBC broadcast took the T-Swift Coverage too far, however TNF on Prime and CBS had an appropriate amount I'd say, to please both football fans and T-Swift fans as a whole. I'm all for it, lots of eyes are on Kansas City and it's awesome.

As a Ravens fan, once T-Swift goes back on tour in a couple of weeks, the NFL is going to be looking for something to rival that of her and Kelce. We're going to reveal our answer to Kelce-Swift's romance at our annual Blackout game on Thursday Night Football in Week 11 against the Bengals as well as the following Sunday Night against the Chargers at SoFi. I'm 51 and have watched every Chiefs game since she first attended now! Even the game she didn't attend. I can't explain it, but now I'm seemingly invested and it's fun! I used to hate watching football!
And to be clear, I don't just tune in for the latest Taylor cam, I'm truly a fan of the whole team now and root for all the players!

She literally disappeared for over a year and didn’t come back until she first hinted reputation. I think if she ever takes another long break, it’s going to be because she wants to not because she feels like she needs to.

What I think is ironic is how fanatics of sports who live and die with their team can't understand how there are other people who are fanatics of Taylor Swift and live and die with the ups and downs of her life as well. And how they would scream with passion when Patrick Mahomes comes on stage with Luke Combs and shotguns a beer, or appears on stage with Kane Brown, but can't understand why fans of Taylor love seeing her cheering on her boyfriend at a game on TV. How do the Chargers not cover Travis Kelce? The answer is that the Chargers consider Derwin James a super-safety who is able to guard Kelce. He isn't, he can't, and Staley hasn't caught on yet.

I find the whole Taylor Swift controversy hysterical.
1. The broadcast is going to cut away between plays anyway. So why not entice all those Swifties into getting more into the NFL brand? Ditto for whatever network is covering the game. Or would you rather just show random fans doing random fan things? Personally, I'd rather see TS than a random overweight shirtless dude wearing a cheese head or the like.
2. How has it detracted from the actual games? It hasn't. And, as I said, there is now a whole new influx of TS fans now watching NFL football. Jersey sales, more exposure to various commercial endorsements, etc. Economically, it's a bonanza for companies advertising during games. The NFL is getting coverage in fanzines and other media that otherwise gives the brand minimal coverage. Economically, it sounds like a win-win to me.
3. The hot takes are a riot. Hats off to NFL Films guy "misremembering" who is in attendance. That Brittany Spears misidentification was funny as hell. Not to mention the other talking heads and hosts. Great entertainment value over the blah-blah usual takes, imo. Variety is the spice of life, right?

The problem is the no-stop COVERAGE of Taylor Swift in every single Chiefs game and on every NFL social media account. It’s overkill at this point, they don’t have to show her after every Chiefs touchdown or Travis Kelce catch. You know it’s bad when Kelce himself even said that the league has a gone too far with the coverage of them. The league is shoving the whole Kelce-Swift relationship down our throats and every NFL fan is annoyed with it at this point.

Talented secondary defenders read and anticipate the routes that receivers are running, and that gives them a huge advantage in covering up receivers. Against Kelce, reading the route often backfires on the defenders, since Kelce recognizes how the defenders are reading him, and uses that against them by breaking off the route at just the right moment, and improvising. Normally, that is a recipe for disaster because the quarterback is locked in on the called route. But Mahomes has this uncanny knack for where Kelce will go when he breaks off the route.
I mean yeah but the chargers didn’t even have anyone covering him most of the time. Like there is no reason the number one TE in the nfl should be standing open with no one within 10 yards of him.
The Chargers and Staley had a gameplan coming into Arrowhead, just not sure what it was.
Pretty sure if you added up all of the coverage per game, it's less than 2 minutes over the course of a 3 hours.

Network coverage of LA basketball games had the announcers interview Jack Nicholson at halftime.
They'll hopefully figure this all out. They're still new to it and a bit star-struck I think. I also believe the more often Taylor is seen there, the less of a novelty it will become. The circus should begin to tone down some. I personally think it's energizing and fun - it would be nice if they scanned the entire crowd to acknowledge every notable person who may be in attendance.

Kelcy doesn't run routes. He runs it till he sees a empty spot in the coverage and runs to it. That's why he is open most of the time. Chargers defense isn't going to stop that.
