The little numbers on the right of the monthly view are page numbers for the weekly/daily!
Oh, my! Thank you! So obvious!
I had that planner as my 2022 work planner and it was amazing! Enough space for meetings and daily todos. With the smaller weekly calendar it was a great quick weekly priorities overview.
It’s a shame they don’t have a lot of notes pages, but because it was purely my work planner I wrote down my extra notes on weekend days and then on the monthly calendar I made a note where I can find notes related to a certain topic.
I loved hearing how you used those weekend days and indexed your "extra" notes:) Thanks for watching and sharing;)
This is the literal perfect planner for me. I love more than anything that it is so minimalist.
I use the monthlies to track wellness and finances. My work project tracking is done online.
I use the horizontal weekly overview for events, non-automatic bills, deliveries, and personal appointments.
I then make three lines across each day at the 7, 16, and 23.5 marks (23.5 is where the separation between Friday and Saturday is in the horizontal weekly overview). Everything before 7 is important info like resource outages and urgent tasks that I have to get done that day. Everything between 7 and 16 is work tasks. Everything between 16 and 23.5 is home tasks. After 23.5 is personal stuff like hobby/craft tasks, self-care reminders, gratitude, quote of the day, et cetera.
I love how functional Take a Noe is for you Lisa;) Thanks for taking time to watch and share how you use it;)
This is my work planner.
I ignore the dates on the weekly overview pages and use it as a running task list for the week.
I cover up my weekends with a NOTES sticker. I use it for notes that week.
I use the yearly overview as my index for pages I need to refer back to.
I love the way you make this work for your work planner;) Great way to utilize every space for your needs:) TFS & watching:)
I love Take A Note, used it all last year. This year I am using it as my journal.
I always loved seeing your posts about it! You are one of the people I learned about it from!
YOSEKA Stationery does a preorder for them each year. I’ve bought mine thru them. But also TAN still has these available on their website. They aren’t sold out. And they are on sale too. They also have some other options now which are awesome 👏🏼 I have shared them on my channel if you want to see those in detail.
Thank you! I just went and checked out your channel-so many great videso! Thanks for taking time to share that;)
@@AmandasFavorites awe thank you 😊
I love hearing all your tips about how you actually use planners! I am not going to be buying more planners this year, but this is helpful (as a homeschooling mom of 3 AND self-employed) and super practical. Thanks!
Hey Ashley:) I see we have a lot in common:) I am glad this video was helpful!
Thanks Amanda! THis looks like a really neat planner /list book!!
Thanks Carol:) It's an interesting one to try!
The TAN was my work planner in 2022 and is again this year. I have a full flip thru of 2022 and my 2023 setup on my channel. I adore the clean layout of this planner. It makes me happy every time I open it. The A5 affords so much space.
I am going to check out your video:) Thanks for watching. I love hearing what you love about it and how well it's worked for you:)
@@AmandasFavorites thank you 😊
What a great planner! There was a time when I would have loved this! It's not right for me right now, but it is definitely a planner to keep in mind for the future. And you are right, it would be super easy to make this layout yourself with a notebook. But I know myself, and I have learned that I like to have things already printed out for me.
I hear ya Jana...If I was trying to draw this out for a year I might change my tune! LOL!
I loved this video.actually. it's helpful.to see how others plan.
Oh, good! I love seeing how others plan too:)
TFS, Amanda!
I used the Hobonichi Cousin and Weeks since 2018. But I found that the Weeks just did not have enough space and the Cousin had too much space. So this year, I am exclusively using the TAN planner. It has a thicker tomorrow (toh - moe - eh) paper compared to the Cousin, which I like because I am a fountain pen user. So far, it is working out, although I must say, it took a couple of weeks to get used to it and to get my groove.
Hi Maria;) Thanks for watching and taking time to share your thoughts. I agree that we have to give a new planner time, because it can take a bit to settle in:) And thank you for reminding me of the pronunciation of the paper! I need to just keep that by me for every video with this paper in it!
It’s called coptic stitching. I love it because it helps books lay flat.
Thank you for sharing that with me Eliza:)
Amazon had the Take A Note and then it sold out. I had it in my cart, was interrupted, went back to purchase it and it was gone, lol. I found it on Pinkoi - an Asian Etsy type site. WHAT I'm going to do with it is still an unknown, though I do like that 3/3/3 idea you mentioned 😉. LOVED the video - and I get you - I write with PURPOSE so those writing bumps can really be felt on the Tomoe River paper. I like this paper a lot for fountain pens but the Mohawk paper for the gel pens just cannot be beat - I have used a Pentel Energel Violet since they introduced it and I love, love, love it on the Erin Condren - thank you for introducing me to EC! ☺
Hey Cie:) Thanks for sharing what you love! I love Pentel Energel and the Clena- but have never heard of the violet! I will have to look it up! And I didn't even know TAN was on Amazon!
Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Happy Holidays!
Amanda, so happy you are back from your trip. I can't remember who said this but another UA-camr said that if you do use Frixion on Tomroe River paper and you erase, whatever you wrote behind also gets erased too. I haven't had the courage to try this out; I just took her word for it. Because of this, I bought Micron pens to use in my Hobonichi Weeks and original Techo.
Oh, wow...I hadn't heard that...will have to try it;) Thank you:)
it makes sense, as it is the heat from the friction of the pen moving that makes the ink go away. you can sit a hot cup on it and it will also lighten or erase it.
Have you seen how Rebeka Plans use her TAN A6 for just doing tasks lists on the daily. I decided to get one of those, to keep running task lists. Another idea is time blocking of planned vs. actual between the light center line on the center of each vertical daily. I read deep work by Cal Newport. However, I have a different life than you do, since we are childless. If I try the Actual vs. Planned thing, I may pick up a second book next year. I cannot do a bullet journal, because it becomes productive procrastination of setting up constantly. Oh and I have to add week numbers to this, because here in the EU it is a thing, as an American over here I do not have a sense of what month usually has which weeks #’s in it. My danish friends have a great idea of what week # it is.
Hi:) I haven't seen Rebeka Plans- but I will check that out;) I haven't read deep work, but I've heard a lot about it. Thank you for sharing all this great insight with me;)
Sorry it is not Rebeka plans, I will go through my history and find the person, and give you the timeline. Unless you have a strong spirit, Because Rebeka is quite stressed in that video, you may want to skip the recommendation. But she does outline her issues with planning and perfectionism quite well.
It is Ellie’s corner, about 30 min into the video. That she draws a line down near the time line on the daily vertical and uses bullet journal symbols. This is why I decided on the A6, I did not need all this room on an A5,not if I am using a Hobonichi cousin for my find a job/work planner.
So nice that you don’t have to write out at home tasks 😂 I would never do them if I didn’t write them down.🤪
This is a really helpful video!! I think I like tomoe River paper to journal, but I like hefty paper for my planner. Thank you Amanda!♥️♥️♥️
I can see why you like each different paper for those specific tasks;) And some days I do write out home tasks- but generally I don't....however- I might be able to manage my time better if I did write them out and see how much I have to do;)
I have to write everything down too.
This is 68gsm TRP so it’s thicker than the paper used by Hobonichi, wonderland222 and others.
Yes...it't thicker...but I don't call it hefty or "thick" compared to EC 80# and others like that in the planner world;)
I'm curious about this planner 👀👀 I've seen it on Amazon and Yoseka Stationary (located in NY).
It's a very interesting one! Just like Hobonichi...not like anything made in the US.
hehe your pronunciation of tomoe river paper.. i actually buy the take-a-note for the ability to use the chinese holidays. I do have to put in all the american ones but. it allows me to see the Chinese ones at a glance. I actually love the format. I sorta use the timeline but i block off the evening ones essentially for my daily to dos. i have notes that i have to write for patients etc.. that gets listed at the bottom etc.
Hey Mary Jane:) Thanks for being kind about my pronunciation. I have looked it up many times, and them it fades because I don't say it much. And I forgot to relook it up before this video. Thanks for sharing about the Holidays:)
I am using Take a Note for my journal! I love it!
I must have missed those stories of yours bc I didn't know that;)
I don’t really share my journal cause I feel like I need to sensor myself sometimes if I do 😂😉. I did show it a little today to show my stickers in it.
I totally understand! It's hard to share a journal on social...you have to look at the page you are sharing first and make sure it's okay....
I’ve been very interested in this planner, thanks for this video! I love that kind of binding on a planner or journal. I’ve heard you can find take a note on Amazon now! Also, that’s a beautiful sea green highlighter in your early Jan days-what color/brand is it?
Yes, you can. I think they're sold out now, but i purchased one from Amazon this year.
@@Jessica-yy5wm thanks for this info! Yes, I just checked on Amazon and they’re sold out for 2023 :(
@@cfavero1 that's too bad. You would have to pay shipping, but they're still available directly from the take a note site. I ordered one there as well, and it was pretty quick.
Thanks for sharing about Amazon! I believe that light green you are talking about was from an Erin Condren Highlighter set:)
I think I am going to use a notebook for a budget to keep track on how much I spend each month I want to try not to buy another notebook until I finished the ones I got that's my goal for 2023 ✔️
Great Goal! I love a simple notebook for so many uses!
Try sticky notes to note future things down and put on relevant day.
Good idea:) Sometimes I look over the most obvious things! Lol! Thank you:)
last year's take a note had wayyy more note pages than this year. i'll count.. i was surprised that this year only had like 2 pages
Oh, interesting! I wonder why they changed that....
@@AmandasFavorites ok way more is apparently an exaggeration. there are 8 pages of notes in the back. whereas this year its 4.
This looks like an amazing planner. I just looked it up and the P0xx on the monthly seems to be a reference to the pages of those weeks. Like P056 means that week is on page 56, that's actually pretty clever :D
Oh, that's cool:) Thank you for looking that up and taking time to share;)
@@AmandasFavorites no problem 😊
