Fabled Fruit is a good non-dungeon crawler example of a game with meta-progression. The game itself is basically the same game-to-game but the available actions and cards slowly cycle through a large deck of options.
Congratulations on the 1k subs! Your channel definitely deserves it. I love watching your videos on board game design even though I don't make board games myself. Like you said on a previous video, cross-pollination of ideas is important. Meta-progression as a theme definitely sounds like it can take a lot of cues from modern roguelite video games - stuff like Hades, Loop Hero, Vampire Survivors, etc. I've been trying to figure out how to include meta-progression into an origami "infinity card" that can endlessly be folded outwards! I might actually enter into it, even though I have basically no chance of winning, just to have an excuse to learn board game design!
Meta-progression reminds me of Loop Hero, if someone can craft a boardgame with it using tile placement which will trigger a bonus or effect to enhance the game loop.
I was thinking the same thing. It's a great example... I would hope someone would spin the story a bit different, the whole your life is a void that exists only in the loop is a bit heavy for me. (But I didn't finish the game to know if that changes)
Hi Jason! I missed the January sale for your games as I sadly did not discover you or game crafter until two days ago! I've always used kickstarter so what I find! I'm wondering if there will ever be another crowd sale for Iron helm or gate. I really want both but I hate to miss out on a sale if there is one around the corner. I don't want the game to go out of print though.
I don't know when the sale will be. I know they are having a trading card game sale in March. I do not have any games that hit that criteria. I am hoping they have a 4th of July sale that is open to all games. Whenever they do have another sale that I can jump onto, I will. Thanks for the support!
@@jasonglover6615 I went ahead and just bought iron helm and most of the expansions and mats. Lol. If your stuff does go on sale I'll definitely be getting the gate products.

Congrats on +1k subs!
Thanks! The channel has been growing pretty well.

Did you enter anything into the one card challenge?
I did not. I messed with a couple of ideas, but was pretty tied down with other designs.
