It would have been cool to include the fact that there is a pro shop on site, Sean and Sheila Callahan and their team are amazing. Glad you enjoyed our little Midwest gem. Cheers.
No way!!!!!! I used to smoke there everyday as a teenager and play the Original holes. Wow had it changed. I must go frisbee again it used to be so enjoyable!!!
Dellwood is an amazing disc golf experience. When the stream is rolling like it has been the past couple months, it gets scary to throw discs near it. What you saw on 16 is JJ, the groundhog which resides at Dellwood and is PDGA number 182076. UDisc has multiple layouts at Dellwood. The XXL layout is the one used when they hosted a Silver Series event. Since the pro shop was built after hole numbers were first assigned, most events start at hole #13.
Wow, that was an amazing round TBH. You just casually shoot like 10 down haha. This is my home course BTW. I play it 20+ times a year. 14,15 & 16 is often referred to as "birdie alley". Also, there are multiple groundhogs living around the course. So the official mascot for the course is a groundhog named JJ Callahan. He even has his own PDGA # 😁- The pro shop on site is owned by Sean and Shiela Callahan. They run multiple tournaments at Dellwood and more than one club run leagues at the course throughout the year, including Dellwood themselves. One more interesting piece of info. The area at the bottom of the stairs by 16 & 17 was at one time a lake. You can find photos of what it used to look like online.
Fun seeing one of my local courses on here! The river is usually not as scary most of the time so definitely from the rain. It looks like you possibly ran into Dellwood’s groundhog mascot JJ or JJ Jr.!
Hi Chantel, watching your videos has inspired me to enter my first tournament as an amateur during the Women's Global Event this coming weekend. I'm excited! Looking forward to your next video. Take care!
@@missfrisbees Thank you so much! It's going to be fun. I'll think of you when I'm playing. I love your positive attitude and you are always smiling and fun! That's what makes your videos so awesome!! Have a great week!
Dellwood is a great course, glad you guys got to play it. Those bleachers you threw over are for when they have battle reenactments their, they have tanks and all sorts of cool stuff out in that field.
Its a course I hit yearly on my way down for my vacations to Chicago or back home to MI from MN(I live less than 20 miles from The Preserve, but variety is the spice of life.). Great layouts, great shop, great community at Dellwood too. Should've thrown long on 2, such a great toss off a cliff!
Home course and I can confirm it's great! Lots of open and Wooded holes, white layout is very short and good for beginners and gold is tough even for very good players
Muskrat vs Beaver= think muskrat as a smaller beaver but does live in water. Groundhog vs Beaver= groundhogs are smaller than beavers, groundhogs burrow in the ground (do not live in water), beavers make them cool dams 🖖 Here on the eastern side of the US we see groundhogs everywhere. If you think you saw one of the three, its most likely a groundhog.
Muskrats have little skinny tales as well, they look like a giant water logged rat 😂 We've had a couple groundhogs make their home in my backyard, they're very plump and when they run it bounces all over. I would laugh if they weren't tearing up my yard 😔
love this as my hometown course. play here every sunday. I would also recommend Naperville Knoch knolls course as well. for next time ur in town. is only like a 20mins driver from The canyons
The creek is called fraction run and it's not always high and fast like that, as you mentioned. They're times it's only barely moving, plenty of dry areas and can be crossed easily.
I know Milwaukee isn't really in the way for the pro tour stops. But y'all should stop in Milwaukee. Some incredible courses out here. Would love to meet ya guys!
The canyons is awesome. The river usually doesnt have that much movement tbh, but there are definitely some death throws on that course. The pro tee's on hole 4 or 5 is a huge turnover shot that follows the river. Super fun though.
I always like modifying the og tee's when I go there. I tend to go 1White, 2Blue tee. I like throwing off the cliffs. Makes the landscape more prevalent.
You're in my neck of the woods now! If you're still in the area and like thin crust pizza, I can tell you a good place to go for it! (My wife's family has a place in Tinley Park (Ed & Joe's) which is not far from Lockport!)
Hole 16. That's JJ Callahan, the groundhog, PDGA #182076 😊. He's the inspiration for the statue while you guys were walking to hole 3. He's very accustomed to people and he will let you pet him. He has a little family as well but they're not as friendly with people just yet.
hello, I'm looking for a little help with the prodigy discs. i was looking to pick up one of the F3s you guys are throwing in the video 8 5 -2 2 but the ones on your site have the numbers listed as 7 5 -1 2. is there another version of the F3 or am I just confused.
Prodigy renumbered all of their discs recently to more accurately represent the flight. They are the same molds but have updated flight numbers. Old F3, 7 5 -1 2 and the new F3, 8 5 -2 2 . I hope that helps! 😊
No, I would not be full sending it. I got into disc golf with 3 discs playing the Toronto Island course. There are a couple holes near water, which I skipped my first time playing. Second time I played, I was wrongly confident and my only driver went into the water, never to be seen again.
Sunset Hills is a better course than Dellwood. Either of the Northwood courses, The Oaks, Highland Park, Fairfield Park, Camden, Anna Page as a whole... The only reason this is "no 1" is that the shop has a vested interest in getting people to come who show up due to the title
It was pretty stressful, but some of the alternate baskets seemed to be farther away from the water. If you wanted to skip some of the water holes you have extra holes without water to play as well!
Honestly Dellwood is overrated, but it probably depends on what you're looking for in a course. It'd be great if it wasn't in a shared public park, and some of the open holes are a little boring, but there are many tee/pin variations. Overall great course and proshop, but imo it's not #9 in the country
Dellwood is a bit overrated. Fun course, scenic, great maintenance. Not very challenging though. Round Lake, Camden, Foundation Park, Northwoods should be rated higher. There are also other more challenging courses down state, but this course gets rated high because it's one of best near Chicago. There definitely needs more higher level courses in Chicago area.
this isnt the number 1 course in Illinois. Clickbait video title. Fairfield Park in Round Lake is the number 1 course in Illinois. this course you are playing is 5th in Illinois. i dont even live in Illinois anymore and this was easy research. do better.

Love Dellwood! It's been too long since we've been there. This brings back memories! Amazing DG Community out there.

The creek holes are so treacherous on days like these. Luckily, people drop lost discs at the shop when they find em, very nice community here. 👍
This course looked beautiful!! I'd love to go play there. Great shots on hole 18! Love y'all showcasing us different courses on your travels ❤

Some of the alternate holes on the 27 hole layout are really fun and less crowded than the rest of the course. 6D is my favorite.
i try to do all the sixes. one of them is a steep uphill hike though!
Hole 16! Hello JJ, our course mascot and PDGA member!
my favorite hole in the whole state! 18 is probably number 2 lol
I always take a couple of discs I don't care much about when there is a lot of water around. I have dedicated water disc. Lol
Check out Fairfield Park in Round Lake IL. It’s awesome.
Home course and I can confirm it's great! Lots of open and Wooded holes, white layout is very short and good for beginners and gold is tough even for very good players
picnic tables and trash cans at just about every hole too!

we definitely need a compilation of Chantel whipping back to camera after each putt. There is a particularly funny one at 8:18 lol
One of my favorite local courses. Love the pro shop there
Water was sure up. I've seen that stream near dry many times.
More often than not its pretty dry
You usually can grab discs outta that river but not the day you went! Still gorgeous as always
Some great play there. Looks like a great course.
the clip of your jump putt on 18 needs to be part of in intro on your vids that was awesome with the rundown and all that haha! cheers!

Home course! Glad you came and checked it out! (I feel like highland Park just south of dellwood is a bit harder)
I’m from the boarder and wanna come out, is it supper busy like my friend tells me or is he just yanking my leg
@@Adventure-plus dellwood? Always packed. Highland not as packed but can be pretty busy

West Park is better, in my opinion...

Dellwood is about 30 min from me. My friends and I go there every couple months.
i feel lucky to have this course about 15 min from me.

Rosie’s park in Madison heights Michigan has a 9 hole course that you should check out.
Amazing course!
Hole 18 made me face my fear 😂
I love this place I'm only 20 min from this . 👽💯
