Great walkthrough! Musio has a lot of potential, that’s for sure. I’m personally okay with the lack of advanced controls on the instruments; if anything it has challenged me to familiarize more with Logic, and to utilize its built-in MIDI fx and smart controls to work around the limitations of Musio.
I like the idea of Musio and I think it's definitely good for beginner composers. If Cinesamples could somehow expand the customization tools to the level of their Kontakt versions then I would be a permanent customer. For the time being I see no reason to switch from composer cloud other than for efficiency reason but at the cost of less flexibility in the final mix. Definitely seems like a good tool for mock ups but not too great for final renders.
I BELIEVE that I read someplace that while the introductory price for the year is $149.99 that the REGULAR price is like $200 or something like that. Although if you do the math, the regular price would be $238.99 - 37% would equal right at about the $149.99 they are calling the early adopter price. I suspect it will go up after the first year. But we'll see in a year I guess. It is a good deal and I signed on. Nice to have access to that Cinesamples "sound" even though you don't have the functionality of the fully licensed versions. Still for me and many others, it's a pretty decent deal. By the way good video review.
Would it work as a plug-in in notational Software like Finale?

Hey there! I think I’m some ways, it’s definitely similar to CC (subscription for all available sounds). I’m gonna have to do some more digging but I think the major differences fall under “ease of use” as well as computer efficiency!
There is a lifetime subscription special offer for $499 right now. Wondering if Musio decided to stop the subscription model later, or even worst, the company stopped operating, are the lifetime subscripted members able to continue using all the Musio instruments? Are those like purchased instruments reside in the computer so that we can use them anytime forever regardless of the company status? Would like to understand this model of operation a bit more before any financial commitment.
Question and thank you for the video. I’m new to composing and ask and I didn’t know what to get and bring me your heart these guys play these compositions with Spitfire, Nucleus, etc and one gets confused. I got a deal on Opus Edition and more here Cinesamples with Musio. Did I make a bad choice? This seems more simpler than Opus.
Hey there! Glad you’re jumping into composition! Opus is a great product. You’ll have a lot of control over how close or far you want your instruments, control on a bunch of articulations, etc. Musio is great for simplicity. It’s a subscription service that lets you access some of CineSamples’ libraries. Though Musio is a great option for newcomers, I suggest taking some time to play around with Opus. You can really learn a lot from it!

Unanswered question:
1) what format are the samples? Wav (16/24 bit) or data compressed? I get the feeling they're compressed files because they load so quickly.
Is there a “musio” online plug-in that opens in your daw? How does it load then? How did you arrive at your first screen? Through your daw? And what happens to your samples that you chose to use? Do you save them as part of the song/project or do you save them where the rest of your non musio libraries are? (eg: external ssd etc)
You didn’t show how to load the player in your daw. Is it a .dll plug-in? Do you have to install it separately?
These are the very first no brainer questions you should have answered but I am still deep into your video and still haven’t found them.
I got in under the wire and got the lifetime deal for $499. In my case, I already have Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra (and about 9 other products), East West Hollywood orchestra and choir and more and more and the Arturia V collection, Omnisphere, Trillian, a bunch of Orange Tree Samples guitars and and and. I still got this. When you consider 50 or more libraries will be available in a few months and more will be added over time, that's like $10 each! I won't get EW Composer Cloud because I already have a bunch of their products (15 or so) and did I mention a ton of cool Native Instruments libraries...UVI Falcon... It's ridiculous how much I have...and I still got Musio. Even if I only use 10% of their stuff, I'm still ahead. And they HAVE made improvements that a lot of people whined about.
They recently released a roadmap video for 2023 and beyond and they have a lot of features and libraries in the works! I also find that the more I work in Musio, the more comfortable the UI feels for my workflow!
Thanks for your comment, which I'm very glad to hear! I was just going to get their Strings Core (I have Solo only as well as about 7 other Cinesamples libraries) so I know them pretty well. I think what pushed me over the edge (besides access to the vast number of instruments) was an even better sound, which they reference in at least one video. The only thing I need to do is figure how to connect it to my DAW!
Essentially a more intuitive simpler UI than kontakt with classic Cinesamples libraries and their newer products?? I'm using the trial now. Coming from using kontakt libraries a komplete ultimate as a long time user. Seems like a good way for newer composers and people who don't need all the complexities of kontakt for a lower entry price and temporary subscription or even lifetime.

Wanted to give everyone a heads up. While Musio's site shows Cinesamples products in their catalog, they are NOT the full versions and some are completely useless. They proudly show Voxos, but no where on the site, literature, or marketing does it explain that you only get 7 articulations and NO phrase builder.
Yet, they're calling it "Voxos."
Here's the kicker, the moment you pay, that money's gone. They will NOT refund your money.
Don't get f*ked like me. Avoid Musio.
Glad I saw your comment. I have 7 or 8 Cinesamples products and they just offered Musio for $499 for life to the first 100 customers. In addition to about 7-8 Cinesamples libraries I have tons of orchestral libraries (East/West, Spitfire Audio, Project Sam, Audio Imperia, etc.), and tons of other libraries, Arturia, u-he, UVI, Omnisphere and on it goes. But when I saw $499 for life for everything I almost jumped on it, but thought I'd check for reviews and saw your comment here and changed my mind. Thanks!
I agree, it coulld be a great deal for someone with no Cinesamples libraries; or very few but want to get a good package of lots of sounds cheap. However, I already have Tina Guo, Solo Strings, CineHarp, CineBrass, Woodwinds Core and Pro and a couple others. I was thinking of getting Strings Core 2.0, which sounds REALLY good. It's 1/2 price at $200 right now. Barring something amazing that would likely complete my Cinesamples collection. I have so many other products that Musio wouldn't make sense for me. The music software world is tremendous these days, isn't it? I have libraries from over 30 companies, easy. Back in the 70's and 80's I played keys in the Air Force rock Band with just a Fender Rhodes, Clavinet, Arp String ensemble and an Arp Odyssey synth and sometimes a Farfisa Organ with a Leslie. Imagine hauling all that around in Anvil cases and doing two shows a day! Now, every sound I could possibly imagine (and never afford) are on about 5TB of SSD's I can put in my laptop case. LOL.
Sorry for the trouble, but thanks for sharing. The Eric Whitacre choir sounds like a good choice, but yes it's pricey. I have Omisphere (2.something) and it has some really good choir stuff and you get a world class synth as well. Besides the typical choir you get boys and even a Japanese children's choir as well as some great swoops and effects and so on. And, it's like $479.
I also have the E/W choir with "Wordbuilder" which allows you to type words and have the choir sing it. It's not perfect, but if you do Latin no one gives a rip, anyway. Vocalize3 isn't bad and there's something called Vocal Colors Bronte (a solo female with phrases) and it's only $49 from Best Service. Except for Omnisphere, I got everything at 1/2 price during sales. I don't I've seen Spectrasonics have sales.
Thanks so much. Yes, I did see their email. I'm sure they're monitoring social media posts and comments like this and have changed their minds. That would be a smart move on their part. My suggestions and special offers notwithstanding, always consider what will best fulfill your musical vision. I've got way more than I need actually and you can get into a mindset of thinking you have to use everything to justify what you've purchased.
Well...I got the lifetime version of Musio for $499. Haven't even opened it yet, but with access to the best of over 50 libraries for about $10 each and having access for life...what's not to like? I've seem some people turn their noses up at this, but I used to pay $1000 more or less for ONE keyboard that made ONE sound (electric pianos, organs, synths, clavinet, string ensemble, etc.). We live in a great time to make music. I was there in the early days of MIDI and sold keyboards in a music store. A Jupiter 8 was like $8000, and now you can get a reasonable facsimiile from multiple software companies..for "dollars."
