    As a rule, folks, most same-day stuccos cost twice the cost for the materials but are also twice as strong as traditional stucco.
    In this video, I’m working with a fast. Set hydraulic stucco as I wanted strength and the ability for the stucco to set fast.
    In fact, it set after than I anticipated, determining factors on all fast set stucco: the weather or temperature is the main factor, and the adding or not of accelerator and/or retardants.
    Yeah, my son Jason recommended adding the retardants to start with, but I asked him not to,
    Big oops.
    Retardants give a half hour to 45 minutes to work or play around the stucco.
    Remember that no matter how bad your concrete stairs, foundations, or walls look, they can easily be repaired or fixed with stucco.

    Hey Kirk,,, I want to say a big thank you. Never has a UA-camr made so much difference in my abilities, so quick. I had my electrical panel changed and was getting quotes to seal and stucco when I stumbled upon you. The quotes seemed really high and I am very handy, so I DIY'ed it. It passed the lath inspection, and when I applied the stucco, It came out really really nice. You made a huge difference. You gave me the good methods and the confidence I needed. I always was very meticulous. My biggest issue is working with too much cement that wants to set up quicker than I can work with, so I do 25 lbs at a time. You teach at a great pace, and convey the essentials clearly. I used a 6" wide firm putty knife, and a tile sponge. The stucco blends really nice. My electrician and the city inspector are very impressed. clean professional work. Thanks again.

    Hi Kirk enjoy your videos. I have a question for you regarding interior veneer plastering. After it has cured for roughly 2 to 3 weeks what type of primer do you recommend to go over it. I’ve heard some painters say oil base only or latex that can handle a high pH level such as Loxon. I’m worried about it bonding properly.

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  2 роки тому +1

      Howdy Andy Dude, Stucco expansion joints can be installed if walls are over ten feet in any direction without a window or door in the wall.
      A little know fact, windows and or doors act as expansions.
      Or whenever they have been specified in the drawing or blueprints, usually with commercial construction.
      Or if one prefers the look of them. 😉

    Hey! I found your videos and I could use some recommendations. My house is stucco and my garage is cinderblock. I want to add stucco to the garage and some type of dash or something to make their textures match. I think I understand the process but I have no idea what products to use. Both are painted so I will need an adhesive/bonding agent. And I don't know what product to use to stucco, and what to use to make a dash coat. I have done one or two walls using Quikrete Surface Bonding Cement but I don't like it, you can see the fiberglass pieces in it. Do you have any recommendations?

    • @MrOlskool88
      @MrOlskool88 2 роки тому

      In the tile industry we use these techniques to render walls true and plumb.
      We the use a thin set adhesive mortar for stone in exterior wall applications in this instance.

      I thought it might of had something to do with it being type N and stucco type S for structural. But they bothe structural. Only thing I can find is RS mortar mix can go up to 6 inches and RS stucco mix they say 3/8 to 2 inches.
      Im also guessing the RS stucco mix as additives so I can be scratch brown and finish coat and or paint in 1 day.
      But I couldnt find anything on whats the real difference.

      Not Kirk but generally he works with a pool trowel for major work, the giant size and rounded edges let him cover large areas smoothly. When he transitions to the inside of the staircase which has to be tight and square he goes to a smaller square trowel which can't put on as much mud but can put on a much more definitive edge and finish.
      Hope the man himself answers you but that's my guess at a glance.
