Have you guys heard of the uncivilized sneaker? They're making some hoop shoes that follow the minimalist criteria ( for shape toebox zero drop etc.) it would be dope if you could review them. Something different that could be an option for some hoopers out there. Im interested in trying them but for what shoes cost now and days I'd rather be certain. For me, the item used to be my Ankle compression sleeves. Back in my high school days, I used to sprain my ankles alot, so I started using those ankle support compression sleeves. Even after strengthening my ankles and improving my footwork, I still used the ankle supports cause I just felt more secure and like I could perform better. It was only about a year ago when I ditched the supports. PS. I agree with the being superstitious part. Like for some reason I feel as if I shoot the ball better in some of my shoes more so than other pairs I have, so I’d always have one of those shoes ready in my trunk as a backup 😂

Marketing pro here! Chinese brands may have advanced tech, but their main challenge lies in branding. They struggle to create a strong brand identity especially in North America and Europe. They could benefit from emulating their Asian counterparts, such as Japan and Korea. For instance, Li Ning could potentially become more popular if it adopted branding and a logo style similar to Japan's ASICS.

Used to not care about my basketball gear, but with longer hair nowadays, yeah, just any sort of hair management gear is a necessity. Just a hair tie would be nice, and I still forget it.
I used to always wear long sleeves, but I no longer need that for some reason either. I do need to wear a tank under my shirt though. The one thing I feel I need is gum! I'm all messed up if I dont have my gum while I play.
I often wore a headband during my playing days because I also sweat a lot. It also kept my hair from poking my eyes while playing. Nowadays, I wear a wristband to wipe sweat off my face and protect the Apple Watch I wear while playing. I also wear compression shirts because I don’t like the feeling of a wet shirt/jersey on my skin while playing basketball.
Hmmmm…..regarding the question of the day, I have to wear compression tights/ shorts, because when I was 18 I got a hernia and was only discovered and confirmed during my medical check up before going into the military. Not sure how it happened but a high possibility was that I would play bball or workout in boxers….and doctors told me that it wasn’t enough support provided. Or maybe I used to wear neoprene ankle sleeves when playing bball because i used to sprain my ankles a lot and those helped prevent them.
QOTD: In high school it used to be knee-high socks because I loved Walt Williams from Maryland. Honestly, I feel like in terms of performance, every brand except Nike is the brand to beat. Of the western brands, New Balance and adidas both had a really good model year last season. Li-Ning definitely brings it too, but the prices are wild, especially for the quality of the materials. Got the All City 11 V2 for about $55 and it is literally one of the best i've used in a looooong time. Can't wait for the 12 Encores to get to a similar price. Guaranteed cop! P.S. i play on hella rough concrete and the outsole has held up incredibly well and legit has crazy good grip.

They used to say I looked like a tricycle driver or a fisherman because a lot of blue collar workers wear sleeves here in the Philippines to avoid getting sunburn.
Yes Li-Ning is easily the best value for money and I would encourage any hooper to buy from them Traction is durable so the shoe lasts long (especially in the AC 12 originals) AC12 original comes with a double shank, one too and one bottom and caged cushion (medial isn’t). Point is the Cushion will maintain its elite performance for much longer, I.e not bottom out. If you want a premium performer, which will be remain a premium performer for a long time, at the same or better price then the swoosh or stripes and you want the swoosh to start providing better tech, buy Li-Ning. Also the drag guard on my indoor pair has no signs of wear and I mean none. have the ones with the mesh drag guard not syth leather, like the orange pair or black and white pair has syth, the lakers pair and white pink blue has mesh. I will say compared to my indoor pair (I have 2) the traction has hardly worn but the tread depth on the lateral side is more shallow and has worn a bit, however has not impacted stop. I’m a combo guard, who plays high level and prides themselves on defence. Trust me if it was bad I would swap them. They’re excellent outside. As for indoor I haven’t got the V2 but have heard they perform better on dusty courts, while the 12 doesn’t perform poorly I’ve been told the v2 is even better. That said if we are talking durability of performance The AC 12 is where to go. Both have boom with is essentially the same compound as Nike zoomx which is probably the best foam out right now. However the 12 have a top loaded shank, the v2 do not. The shank does not make them in anyway uncomfortable, in fact comfort is a strong point of the 12. However I’ve been told the v2 has better stepping comfort (particularly in the mindfoot) due to the lack of the top shank. However that comes at the cost of performance and long term performance. A top shank helps support your foot, preventing injury (reducing) but also takes some of the force from impacts so that the foam doesn’t bottom out quick. So essentially if you want the softest ride go for the v2, if you want an amazing value shoe that will also maintain its high performance for long, go 12s. I hope this helps you or anyone who reads. As for as the QOTD, I need my headband I sweat too much and that stuff gets in my eyes and I also feel naked without having a some kind of rubber wristband on, very strange I know but I just feel naked on my arms and wrists without them.
Way back when I was still playing ball, I've always wore a wristband on my left forearm, just near the elbow, just like MJ and Penny used to. My only activity nowadays is running and I've almost always ran with a full length compression sleeve on my right leg.
I do Muay Thai and can't train without wearing ankle supports. I started wearing them because I sweat a lot and would slip around on the floor in the gym, and the supports gave some much needed grip. Now we're in a different gym where the floor isn't slippery, so I don't actually need them anymore but I can't train without them because it feels too weird.
I needed a headband bc when i was in middle/hs my friend and i would play alot of ball outside at eachothers house and sweat kept getting in my eyes. Now i've kinda stopped but i just really need some new bands to rotate bc my old ones are all stretched out of years of wear and washing. I got a new terry fleece nike headbang and im hoping to buy a few more to rotate in when i hoop. When i play baseball i loved wearing arm sleeves and evo shield wrist guard. The arm sleeves was a swag thing and the wrist guard was incase i ever got hit in the wrist. I also had a mouth guard attached to my helmet bc my senior year i got hit in the mouth and had to get braces to fix my teeth.

Always wear a cotton layer between the jersey. Hate the feeling of that synthetic stuff on certain bodily parts, the chafe is brutal. And not gonna let, if WoW was easier to get in EU, they would be on my list.

With the exception of the GT Cut line (and even there we got a 2 out of 3 success ratio -though I personally loved the 2s), I’m struggling to find a blockbuster shoe from Nike that is not a retro/protro. They’re milking heritage and nostalgia so hard (and doing it cheaply e.g. the Kobe line) while WoW or other brands are putting an effort into innovation and quality. They’re doing a Nike “impersonation” from the early 2000s

I got a new terry fleece nike headbang and im hoping to buy a few more to rotate in when i hoop.
When i play baseball i loved wearing arm sleeves and evo shield wrist guard. The arm sleeves was a swag thing and the wrist guard was incase i ever got hit in the wrist. I also had a mouth guard attached to my helmet bc my senior year i got hit in the mouth and had to get braces to fix my teeth.
QOTD... shoe insoles bcoz I need more comfort nowadays on my foot bcoz without them landing on default insoles giving me so much pain. On the other, looking back on 90s era. Did you ever rock a Cons or converse shoes back in a day?
My group of friends and family have been joking that you need a leg sleeve these days to be noticed. Check it out. Even the cover of 2k25 has 2 players with leg sleeves 😂 Personally a compression tank under. It's a way of life. Wish I could find some as good as the old OG nike combat ones.

They're not even the most hyped li-ning shoe right now. If you have a chance, try the gamma 1, crazy hype on those in the china market as the GOAT shoe
Always wear a cotton layer between the jersey. Hate the feeling of that synthetic stuff on certain bodily parts, the chafe is brutal. And not gonna let, if WoW was easier to get in EU, they would be on my list.

nope
With the exception of the GT Cut line (and even there we got a 2 out of 3 success ratio -though I personally loved the 2s), I’m struggling to find a blockbuster shoe from Nike that is not a retro/protro. They’re milking heritage and nostalgia so hard (and doing it cheaply e.g. the Kobe line) while WoW or other brands are putting an effort into innovation and quality.
