Because they actually let the player they partnered with have creative control. Nike doesn’t let their athletes have real input like they used to whereas Wade has a direct hand in all of a WOW shoe’s development from start to finish. This is why I think Anta will catch up quick too since they made Kyrie a CCO

@@TheRoadLessChosen they have always relied on old Jordan sneakers but they just change the colorway. Then, they will release an OG colorway or original trim when sales go down.

Something different that could be an option for some hoopers out there. Im interested in trying them but for what shoes cost now and days I'd rather be certain. For me, the item used to be my Ankle compression sleeves. Back in my high school days, I used to sprain my ankles alot, so I started using those ankle support compression sleeves. Even after strengthening my ankles and improving my footwork, I still used the ankle supports cause I just felt more secure and like I could perform better. It was only about a year ago when I ditched the supports.
PS. I agree with the being superstitious part. Like for some reason I feel as if I shoot the ball better in some of my shoes more so than other pairs I have, so I’d always have one of those shoes ready in my trunk as a backup 😂

QOTD: In high school it used to be knee-high socks because I loved Walt Williams from Maryland.
Honestly, I feel like in terms of performance, every brand except Nike is the brand to beat. Of the western brands, New Balance and adidas both had a really good model year last season. Li-Ning definitely brings it too, but the prices are wild, especially for the quality of the materials. Multiple contenders for sure.

Hmmmm…..regarding the question of the day, I have to wear compression tights/ shorts, because when I was 18 I got a hernia and was only discovered and confirmed during my medical check up before going into the military. Not sure how it happened but a high possibility was that I would play bball or workout in boxers….and doctors told me that it wasn’t enough support provided. Or maybe I used to wear neoprene ankle sleeves when playing bball because i used to sprain my ankles a lot and those helped prevent them.

I started wearing them because I sweat a lot and would slip around on the floor in the gym, and the supports gave some much needed grip. Now we're in a different gym where the floor isn't slippery, so I don't actually need them anymore but I can't train without them because it feels too weird.

Now i've kinda stopped but i just really need some new bands to rotate bc my old ones are all stretched out of years of wear and washing. I got a new terry fleece nike headbang and im hoping to buy a few more to rotate in when i hoop.
When i play baseball i loved wearing arm sleeves and evo shield wrist guard. The arm sleeves was a swag thing and the wrist guard was incase i ever got hit in the wrist. I also had a mouth guard attached to my helmet bc my senior year i got hit in the mouth and had to get braces to fix my teeth.

I guess for a sort of opposite to the now 3 month old QOTD, I’ve got two answers. One, for football (soccer) I can’t do the tiny, loose, slip in shin pads. I use a lightweight rubber pad built into a sleeve, from G-Form. Work really well and don’t make me feel weighed down. The other answer, in the gym, I can’t be one of those guys wearing a damn hoodie in there. Like Chris, I sweat too much, and too easily. I can’t even wear long sleeve t shirts, which also can be a problem as when I get a bit of a pump going, the sleeves end up constricting my arms, to the point it’s even slightly painful 😂

Marketing pro here! Chinese brands may have advanced tech, but their main challenge lies in branding. They struggle to create a strong brand identity especially in North America and Europe. They could benefit from emulating their Asian counterparts, such as Japan and Korea. For instance, Li Ning could potentially become more popular if it adopted branding and a logo style similar to Japan's ASICS.

    • @darkky65
      @darkky65 4 місяці тому

      such a ??? take,
Li-Ning has much better marketing over Asics, not to mention that they're outright bigger than Asics (#4 behind Anta, Adidas and Nike)
Yonex in badminton would be a much better comparison for branding and domination in their sport, not that Li-Ning is a slouch there, that's where they started breaking out before basketball.
ASICS barely does marketing but gets by with sheer quality (similar to New Balance)
no shade to ASICS, they're my favorite shoe brand right now, they just feel right on feet.

Yes Li-Ning is easily the best value for money and I would encourage any hooper to buy from them
Traction is durable so the shoe lasts long (especially in the AC 12 originals)
AC12 original comes with a double shank, one too and one bottom and caged cushion (medial isn’t). Point is the Cushion will maintain its elite performance for much longer, I.e not bottom out.
If you want a premium performer, which will be remain a premium performer for a long time, at the same or better price then the swoosh or stripes and you want the swoosh to start providing better tech, buy Li-Ning.

wdym by ac12 original? is it better than the v2 that came out?

    • @truthnotfeelings
      @truthnotfeelings 5 місяців тому +3

@_joshcallueng so for outdoor use undoubtedly. The outsole tread of the 12s is much deeper than the v2s despite both having hard rubber. Also the drag guard on my indoor pair has no signs of wear and I mean none. have the ones with the mesh drag guard not syth leather, like the orange pair or black and white pair has syth, the lakers pair and white pink blue has mesh. I will say compared to my indoor pair (I have 2) the traction has hardly worn but the tread depth on the lateral side is more shallow and has worn a bit, however has not impacted stop. I’m a combo guard, who plays high level and prides themselves on defence. Trust me if it was bad I would swap them. They’re excellent outside.
As for indoor I haven’t got the V2 but have heard they perform better on dusty courts, while the 12 doesn’t perform poorly I’ve been told the v2 is even better.
That said if we are talking durability of performance The AC 12 is where to go. Both have boom with is essentially the same compound as Nike zoomx which is probably the best foam out right now. However the 12 have a top loaded shank, the v2 do not. The shank does not make them in anyway uncomfortable, in fact comfort is a strong point of the 12. However I’ve been told the v2 has better stepping comfort (particularly in the mindfoot) due to the lack of the top shank. However that comes at the cost of performance and long term performance. A top shank helps support your foot, preventing injury (reducing) but also takes some of the force from impacts so that the foam doesn’t bottom out quick. So essentially if you want the softest ride go for the v2, if you want an amazing value shoe that will also maintain its high performance for long, go 12s.
I hope this helps you or anyone who reads. Stay hooping

@@jicalzad no. If you take the tag off or use them at all, they won’t refund you. If you need to send them back for a different size without taking the tag off or using them, they will charge $15 for shipping

For me, I am a bigger guy with a bad knee, so I can't do any sport without wearing a knee brace. Not looking to hurt myself even more lol

My big thing is my shorts need to end above my knees. They don't have to be short shorts but above the knee. If my shorts touch my knees or the back of my calves while I play it irritates me to no end.

Always wear a cotton layer between the jersey. Hate the feeling of that synthetic stuff on certain bodily parts, the chafe is brutal. And not gonna let, if WoW was easier to get in EU, they would be on my list.

They're not even the most hyped li-ning shoe right now. If you have a chance, try the gamma 1, crazy hype on those in the china market as the GOAT shoe

Doesn't matter if it's a quick ride around the block with my daughter or a 3 hour ride, I have to ride with sunglasses. Any sort of breeze hitting my eyes is horrible feeling.

My group of friends and family have been joking that you need a leg sleeve these days to be noticed. Check it out. Even the cover of 2k25 has 2 players with leg sleeves 😂 Personally a compression tank under. It's a way of life. Wish I could find some as good as the old OG nike combat ones.

Did the traction peel off after first use? My AC 11 and 12 did that.
Compression sock or Achilles brace is something i cant hoop without

Compression tights, a snug pair of socks and a stick of gum. If I’m too winded to chew the gum then I’m playing too hard and need to dial down the intensity.

With the exception of the GT Cut line (and even there we got a 2 out of 3 success ratio -though I personally loved the 2s), I’m struggling to find a blockbuster shoe from Nike that is not a retro/protro. They’re milking heritage and nostalgia so hard (and doing it cheaply e.g. the Kobe line) while WoW or other brands are putting an effort into innovation and quality.
They’re doing a Nike “impersonation” from the early 2000s

I wish it were easier to try on Li Ning shoes, as well as other Chinese brands. With wider feet, I really don't want to wait a week-plus for shipping only to have them be too narrow

I used to need all the sweat bands! Not anymore though.
Li-Ning is without a doubt the best performance brand right now! It just needs to get in North American local stores to really blow up like they should.
Future question of the day :
Other than the Golden State Warriors, which NBA franchise is your favorite and why?
