I was completely unaware of this I like when Victor talks as much as when he's playing. Both aspects have so much passion in them. Shades of Charnett Moffett on upright Dennis is like "just another session I'll quietly knock out of the park" Bob is maintaining superhuman breathing intensity and control. I'd have a friggin stroke
I have watched so much of your stuff and there isn't a single time I am not blown away by your genius.... Living proof that with a little God given talent and a whole lot of hard work you can change the world.. Thank you Victor!!! So sad I missed you at the Orange Peel in Ashville a few years back..
I missed you all when you when through Charlotte can't wait for you all to go back. Me and ten of my friends will be there. In music what more could anyone ask for.
He brings it out of everyone he plays with. He allows that "room to breathe" when, during other artists are shining alongside him. Vic, imho, knows his role when it comes to musical efficiency.✨
@@QuietNightRiot As time allows for contemplation and understanding of what came before, technique and concepts advance, which is the true joy of Jazz. Jaco did very interesting things with the Looper when it first came out, and doubled with himself on bass solos. But his looping was primitive compared to what Wooten is doing now. I saw him play once, and he played a riff that was almost inhuman. He then said he couldn't do it every night, so he recorded it so he could loop it as needed on a night when it didn't come easily. He then played a solo using that looped riff that honored and then surpassed Jaco. That is the spiritual meeting of mastery and respect for what came before.
I saw you in concert in zurich two years ago with these incredible musicians. it was just amazing !!! thanks for all you do and bring to music and bass.
Very cool to see you play on a double bass Victor. Wish you would've brought it to your concert in Rotterdam two weeks ago - although that concert was already amazing anyway. Cheers
Groovin, beautiful music, and not to mention many places and greats they paid homage to. Some of the music that went into a weather report type mode was just to good to believe. i would have loved a keyboard in there, but this was wonderful. Dennis and VIC are a force of nature.
Love when played "Quimbara " from Celia Cruz, this singer is the best from latin music soul. respect you Victor you know and research great music around the world. nice!
Nothing better than Victor Live! I have seen him over a dozen times.. I would love to see a collaboration of Victor and Reggie Watts for a comedy music night! Both love to have fun with music and it would be a great time
I've been a fan of Victor Wooten for many years! I was so amazed and inspired from watching him play the upright Bass! In this video, his technical skills were so astounding and incredible!! Like the likes of Ray Brown, Ron Carter, Niels Henning Orsts Pedersen, Stanley Clarke!!
What's the point of a full live show with one of the greatest bass players, when there's no low end at all in the mix? Like, none? Is that how it's supposed to sound?
The sound changes within the first minute of the gig as the soundman sorts himself out, I think you gave up too early. I turned it up to suit and then got blown away by the racket.
precijazz @ precijazz I'm not as bitter about it as you😂 but I agree that the engineer rolled way to much low end offa vics line eq. I think he was trying to leave a lot of that side of the eq spectrum to dennis' kick but over did it.
Hey Victor, how are you doing today sir, hey I wanted to ask if you would share your story on learning how to play the bass guitar and what all you went through okay and how you learned. Thank you so very much sir. Have a great day.
cool moment at 3:05:48 The sax's microphone falls down. Victor and Bob notice that. Victor continues on his way. Bob tries to play on his voice microphone. It doesn't work. The camera view slide to Dennis. Victor starts a more salty and rich background with the bass to fill the emptiness. while the camera is still on dennis. The camera view is on nothing. (probably) Bob get back his sax's microphone. Victor returns to his normal background. Bob returns to his solo. The camera view returns on the stage. Dennis stays as he were 20 seconds before, he did notice nothing at all, cool guy......
Cool and elaborated stuff and there is a strong Stanley Clarke influence to be heard in Vics bass tone at the start (and also maybe in using the double bass?). OK Stan´s stuff appears later in concert ;-) I heard that Janek Gwizdala is joining you for the BassCamp in 2018 --> 2:46 ;-) strong loop stuff I live in Germany and i tried to find a vinyl copy of "Tryptonyx" that not doesn´t cost me 54USD for shipping+19%VAT... no luck
Victor sounded so much cleaner in his prime....everything was much cleaner and he produced way more amazing lines. He had a lot more to say and on point (musically speaking) feels like he has plateaued. That WOW factor is nkt there for me anymore.....however he still is my favorite bass player from them all.
I feel like this falls into the "You had to be there" camp. I'm sure this trio is great live, but it's not really doing anything for me at 53 minutes into it. I don't think there needs to be a webcast of every show these days. The band is obviously playing to the audience in the room, not those of us looking at screens. Making a captivating concert video involves more than just a board mix and a few different camera shots, in my opinion.
What is the song they start playing at 1:06:25?! Its been killing me the past few days.I know that I know it but the words escape me so I cant even look it up. HELP!! Haha. Killer video btw. Gonna see him in Missoula, MT on Jan. 16th. Stoked!
an eye opening experience for me to see victor play that double bass rhythmically and joyfully. I love that
they start playing at 22:17
oddindeed God bless your wonderful heart
You da man ODD!!!
Thank you
Thanks a lot

This video made me start my drum little drum career again, I could rewatch it a million times.

I have watched so much of your stuff and there isn't a single time I am not blown away by your genius.... He's coming back to Asheville next month.
Finally got to see Victor here, and with Dennis Chambers.... Was fantastic! Glad they put it on youtube :D
Brian Dunne We have the show here in Raleigh tomorrow. Very excited.
right here i am enjoying in the the same time i am learning i feel good
I missed you all when you when through Charlotte can't wait for you all to go back. Me and ten of my friends will be there. In music what more could anyone ask for.
Trypnotyx is far the best album released in 2017. What great record!
Return to Forever! Dennis your still a Beast maaan......Victor, you're at a different level with that BASS GUITAR. Great Show!
Incredible!
Mr Wooten just might be the funkiest guy alive! His technical mastery compares with Pastorious
Ii8i
He brings it out of everyone he plays with. He allows that "room to breathe" when, during other artists are shining alongside him.
Vic, imho, knows his role when it comes to musical efficiency.✨
Actually, with all due respect in technique he passed pastorious by far.. but also, they are totally two different musical animals…

Espetacular, congratulations from Brazil 🇧🇷 🎷🥁🎸🎶👌
That sign!!! Beautiful! 18 minutes though?

Nice !
That really is a manifest of skill, musicality and love!!!

Totally seeing this in February!!!
Brillante Trío con un entramado sonoro muy rico en matices excelentes Victor, Bob y Dennis 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wish they will do another great album
Most of the time I was shocked and overclocked. Their musical communication sets their identity, not vice versa!
You guys are amazing.
Incrível
Just the nicest person in the world
Amazing musicians!
Que pedrada! Thank you, Mr. Wooten!
What is the name of the song they play at time 2:34:01 ?
The Wooten/Chambers rhythm section is such a natural, genius combination I’m surprised it didn’t happen a long time ago..
Sounds amazing guys!!

What's the point of a full live show with one of the greatest bass players, when there's no low end at all in the mix? Like, none? Is that how it's supposed to sound?
vic didn't want to draw too much attention to himself
The sound changes within the first minute of the gig as the soundman sorts himself out, I think you gave up too early. I turned it up to suit and then got blown away by the racket.
i can (try) remaster the whole show, if there's enough ppl interested in this.. :)
Evenflow xD yes please
precijazz @ precijazz I'm not as bitter about it as you😂 but I agree that the engineer rolled way to much low end offa vics line eq. I think he was trying to leave a lot of that side of the eq spectrum to dennis' kick but over did it.
I'll see you at the Broadberry (RVA) in March. Looking forward to it!
1:00:48 and this is why, kids, victor wooten is the best player who ever hold a bass guitar
Kids? Ok dad. Teach us more old wise one.

Dude is the best on the bass and DC has made me a better drummer by learning and playing not there yet but the fat back. Lov the horns as well
I SAID NO ARP BUT AFTER YOU DID YOUR THANG I WAS LIKE WHAT ARP WITH DENNIS LOCKED IN, AND BOB PUTTING THE ICING ON THE CAKE! DC10 DELISH.
Greatest bass technique ever
2:19:11 cold chattering teeth sound
Uaauuu 22 minutes of Brooklin Bowl is too much
cool moment at 3:05:48

The Best bass player in the world!
Why not edit to start vid. When music starts? Fast fwd. 20 some min. to get to the music was just weird. Love intro. but why the wait? Thank you.
2:38:02 Crazy paradiddlediddle
What's Bob F doing to get the doubled up sax part? is that a pedal or something?
Yes. It is like an octaver/harmonizer

Maybe he will blow fire balls out of his for you next time.
Victor’s been suffering from focal dystonia for 20 years
Listening to this thus far,it doesn't seem to be much like Extraction or HBC. good, though!
