What I really love about this channel is that you dedicate most of your videos to mistresses, concubines, sex workers and marginalized women in history that are mostly never written about in great detail. Thank you for doing this!!

I really enjoyed this story about the mistress of King Charles II, Lucy Walter. It was a fascinating and yet interesting story about Lucy Walter, it always amazes me how women would have children by these prominent wealthy men and end up homeless and penniless. I'm curious about whatever happened to her daughter,? Great historical investigating, as well.

      Hi Brenda👸👑🤴
I watch a channel called Royal Historical Palaces.
The 2nd one with Lindsay Holiday.
I think they are great. They explain all the history of the Queens/Kings and especially the girls who have babies and disappear. Hope you enjoy.

The daughter Mary went on to marry William Sarsfield an Irish Landowner. Sarsfield and Mary had three children, Charles, Charlotte and William the first two were named after Charles II, who Mary maintained was their grandfather.
That's all I could find about Lucy's daughter Mary tbh. Very interesting story. Too bad they didn't have antibiotics in that time period.

Sad what happened to Lucy. Why deny her but want the son. No more mention of the daughter. Those kings did what ever they wanted. Had mistresses. Could deny any children. If she died of CD she had to have gotten it from someone. No record of her final resting place. Part of me feel sorry for her. The other part wonder if she could of did better so she didn't die the way she did. Life was not good to her as her life was not long. But I'm sure a lot of young ladies suffered the same fate. They were masters if changing thier names and traveling during yhis time. The story about the sundry moors act if 1790 show they tried to go back to England but the Pale Mary line was in charge. This is a massive story because in documents it shows Charles Il and Sir James Scott sent money to transport everyone by listing them as property servants. Its documents of These children in Jamacia North Carolina. Eventually they are buried near Kings Mountain Sc. I have been tracing this story through my ancestry trying to understand what happened

How do you find these little known but fascinating people? I’d be interested to know. I knew about the Duke of Monmouth but knew nothing about his mother. Many people would’ve called her a social climber and a schemer-or much worse. However, in a male dominated society women often felt that they had to take drastic actions in order to fulfill their own dreams and desires and to get ahead in society. I might not approve of Lucy’s way of going about achieving her dreams, but I do understand it why she was driven to do it. Even today men are applauded for taking the bull by by the horns and doing whatever it takes to be successful. Women who do the same thing are most often denigrated as unfeminine, ballsy, and unnatural. Why? The double standard is alive and well in the 21st century.
