  • In this video I do a Winging Scapula - long thoracic nerve palsy exam which can be caused by a long thoracic nerve palsy. Not only is there scapular winging but this will affect how the rotator cuff functions and can be quite debilitating especially with overhead activities. The serratus anterior will lose it's ability to keep the scapula in the proper position with damage to the long thoracic nerve.

I’ve had this 3 years maybe longer. It’s extremely severe!!
I was told i would never be able to repair it. I need a sprint implant. No use of left arm. I had a spinal cord injury broken neck C2,3,4,5,6,7 stroke my entire (left) side affected!! I laid in a laid back position 2 years and had 15 surgeries.
I began also taking baclofen 60mg.
    3800 mg gabapentin

I've had this problem my whole life with no idea what caused it. My physio told me today that you can strengthen the serratus but the nerve can never heal fully as its essentially partially paralysed... I can lift my arm up alot further than this guy so it's mild but very uncomfortable. I'm hoping I can prove my physio wrong lol
