@@tomerisraeli3521 Yes that was a great show too (I liked Alex Borstein, UPS Guy-Phil LaMarr, etc.) and before that, you had In Living Color (so many stars to name...but Jim Carrey was the most famous). Norm has said in interviews that he wouldn't want to do an impression of a person he didn't like. When you like them, it comes out as funny and when you don't it seems bitter. RIP to both heroes.
I loved Norm's "Bob Dole" impersonations. They were the absolute best. You always made me laugh so much. You will be missed Norm. Rest with the angels. 💜😇🕊

@@bocagoodtimes1460 What made it funny wasn't the concepts themselves though, it was Bob's sudden willingness to become gender neutral after realizing he doesn't have a fighting chance. That's the point of the joke...
RIP Bob Dole. Apparently he was a rare GOP who could take a joke. Also, war hero. I didn't like his politics, but he gave a lot and tried to make us a better place.
Lots of GOP have good senses of humor, or did... I don't think anyone in the current climate has a good sense of humor. It's easy to look at the strife online or the extreme left/right and assume everyone aligns themselves that way. There are plenty of decent Americans all over who have good humor, regardless of politics.
@@MichaelTexas70 I just watched it. Gross, unfunny, mysognystic and racist. He hasn't got a funny bone in his body, and paid someone to write that. And that horrid asshat will probably be our next president.
Norm is the best. Before his passing I used to watch his stuff daily to keep me sane during bad days. Now I just watch out of respect. RIP to the greatest comedian who gave no shits. You got to respect that in this people pleasing day and age. This old chunk of coal just became a diamond in all our eyes. May one of the greatest to ever do it rest in peace. Miss you Norm.
Darrell Hammond as both Clinton and Koppel? Truly brilliant. Norm his usual fantastic self. SNL used to be so funny with great writing and impressions.
I remember watching this growing up. The best skit Norm did as Bob Dole was “the Real World Bob Dole”. He end up bunking with 2 gay guys in the Real World reality show. Ends up crying himself to bed. Hilarious!
This was the best time of SNL for me, I was like 13yo! Learned so much bout American politics from SNL! lol! Norm was THE BEST!!!!! Well... one of the best!

Never got the appreciation he should have. I realized after losing him I never appreciated him. I look back now and he’s so much funnier then anything on tv let alone he even challenges the great Seinfeld and other greats as being so more human.
Oh my goodness. What a sad day. Norm , you will be missed 😔😔😔. I am shocked , I had no idea he was even sick. Thanks for making me laugh till I almost faint , through out the years . I am a huuuuuuge fan and always be . LOVE YOU NORM ALWAYS 😭......❤❤❤.
While I haven't kept up with Norm MacDonald, in recent years, his time on SNL in the 90s was so great! Probably my fave Weekend Update anchor, tied with Dennis Miller, though Seth, Tina and Amy also had a good run. This was a pretty funny opening from the 18th of May 1996, but the one I like even better was a month earlier, on the 13th of April 1996, the 'Nightline' skit where the real Steve Forbes is on with Norm's Bob Dole and David Koechner as Pat Buchanan. RIP Norm MacDonald and thanks for all the laughter you left behind.
If you had told me in 1995-96 that Bob Dole, who (all due respect) was old then, would _outlive_ Norm MacDonald, I'd have said you were crazy. RIP Senator Dole and Norm.
RIP to both Norm Macdonald and Bob Dole. These skits were priceless.
I like to think they're somewhere up there leaning back in armchairs by a fireplace with a nice glass of Scotch and having a good laugh together.
Norm sadly predeceased Bob; both are now in a 'better place' (RIP 😔)
Fuck yes they were!!!
I went right to this! What a sad day. Both of them gone.

Would you believe that Bob Dole outlived Norm Macdonald? RIP Norm.
Also, Clinton isn't looking at the script.
Sen. Dole issued a very respectful tribute to Norm on his passing-not something you would expect from the current lot of politicians.
At least Norm Lived long enough to see the police solve the baffling murder of Bob Hope.
Not only that, but Artie Lange too.
Normey must have not taken care of his health?? Drugs are a bitch. They come a knocking later on.
Much love and respect with deep belly laughter and joy for their "ebullient" humor, wit and life ... Norm & Bob! Love you both! RIP
23 years later and this is still funny.
Norm saw the future and the future is Dole.
We lost both Bob Doles this year RIP you two and enjoy a laugh

True. And I love Both of them. So sad they both passed in the same year but also like destiny.
Bob Dole, finally the beam of pure energy he always wanted to be.
RIP Bob Dole, an honest man and a patriot. "BOB DOLE, BEAM OF PURE ENERGY."
Dan Aykroyd was good at playing Dole but Norm hit a 700-foot home run with his portrayal.
