Enjoyed this interview. Weinstein's point on needing more STEM folks in Congress is so underrated. He's spot on that its all lawyers and rich people, and that we need more folks who can actually solve problems.

Agreed. But the only people who have any chance in hell of succeeding are people like Eric: those who are both great intellects and great communicators. Unfortunately, our intellectual geniuses often lack the latter. After all, who has it all when most have neither? Eric definitely has both.

first with the installation of a vegetable (where is eric ins peaking about this, great job whining after hes destroying the country at a never seen before pace a year after) that didnt win.
then with spending 1000s of times more on this fl season than on any of the other flu seasons that had the same people dine in 2020 as in any other year.
then with allowing this joke of a non-vac to go on, that had more people die in 2021 than in 2020, and see enormous spikes in all kinds of serious diseases from nowhere, with life insurance companies seeing inexplainable, orers of magnitude outsidie of margin of error, 40% increases, only after the rollout of the "vac"

Hey Peter, does it feel like you just won a boss fight? This went a lot more smoothly than the last time, and I'd say that's a good sign of growth! The first 60 seconds were enough to blow away any worries I had going into the conversation.
I don't agree with every viewpoint Eric has, but I do like the way he thinks. I'll never have his level of knowledge when it comes to scientific concepts or physics or laws of mathematics (it's just not my field of specialty), but I hope the way he stays realistic and presents bold ideas and juggles high level concepts while tying them together is a glimpse of what I'll be thinking like in 20 years. I feel like we should see as many people like this as we can, not to learn what they say and repeat it, but just to get exposure to what kind of goal to strive for when it comes to thinking independently and intelligently.

But I would say that one other bit of feedback I would provide is that sometimes this host gets lost in the weeds unnecessarily. There were multiple times in this discussion where Eric was using something as an example about a broader point… But the host didn’t pick up on that. So what ended up happening was he started providing analysis of the example Eric provided as opposed to the point he was actually trying to make. I’m sure this will get better with time.

36:56 One of the common themes discussed during the dawn of the nuclear age was "Is humanity wise enough and moral enough to have this awesome, and destructive, power in it's hands?" Will we destroy ourselves? Prior to two the last two hundred years, the world had changed little fundamentally for two thousand years.
Profound thought by Eric. In less than a single human lifetime, we went from musket-shooters to having fusion weapons! I think if making an atomic device were as easy as a pipe bomb, it WOULD be the end of the world. Thank goodness it's not.
It still leaves the question, is our moral / cultural development progressing at a sufficient pace?
Is greater authoritarianism the way to safety, or more freedom and respect for the individual?
