Nice video as always. Lemme add something from my own experience. For Fords i recommend OEM spark plugs. Motorcraft is also not great. Cars tend to jerk or run erratically. Plus when you installing the cables it's better to spray them with silicone the don´t have tendency to stick that often. Also change ignition cables every 60 000km (NGK,OEM not TESLA) and ignition coil every 100 000km(OEM or NGK). Don't take it as hate. I just wanted to add something from myself ;).
@@scottykilmer3920 Motorcraft and Omnicraft are essentially aftermarket parts sold by Ford. Most of the time these are just repackaged parts from different manufacturers and not OEM.
Thats right, i did knew that. But what do you suggest for these engines, Motorcraft? or Fomocco. Fomocco's are mostly Bosch, and Motorcraft is mostly made by company Autolite. i tested some Ngk's copper and the engine did not liked it.
I started doing the plugs, coil, and leads on a pals' focus ST: did the coil, but the plugs have a cover over them which is/has been bolted down with 3 x 10mm bolts and 1 x 8mm bolt. The recesses in the cover that these bolts sit in are too small/sung to fit a socket in, therefore the cover cannot be removed. Bolts holding the coil were t25 or t30 (I forget), but my thoughts are that someone has previously had that cover off and replaced it with these 'normal' bolts instead of the proper torx ones? Any ideas?
Oem spark plugs for these engines are not platinum or iridium. Oem is copper if you go for platinum or iridium you will get less performance out of that engine, especially when its summer.
Seems the spark plug should last many more then 20K miles? I know the duratech is more advanced at 100K with iridium, probably could have been used in this engine.

@@scottykilmer3920 Personally, I would recommend installing FoMoCo spark plugs even with their higher price.
Great video my friend🙂
Is it 16mm or 14mm

I don't know about the ST170, but I know people love to replace special head bolts with standard ones!

If you say so...

For normal spark plugs 16 mm Spark Plug Socket.
Yes, I've corrected it. Thank you!
NGK plugs are supposed to be Quality Nippon Spark plugs
