I love Grimsby, I used to live there, and I love Immingham, ive been to stay with a cousin that lives in Immingham for a night or two before in the past
It seems Parkway is added to a station name when it’s a distance from the place it’s named. Didcot Parkway, Tiverton Parkway, Bodmin Parkway, Worcestershire Parkway. I may travel on the GWR Azumas to Plymouth next year. Nevertheless I’m going on a South Western Railway 444 to Bournemouth next month.
That true except the "parkway" station is special type of "far away" as they are usually close to a motorway. I.e Bristol Parkway is the M4 and Tiverton parkway is the M5. Not to also mention Southampton Airport Parkway. Edit: Didcot and Port Talbot both have parkway stations but the town's themselves are very close.
This is a great spot when trains are running in Didcot Railway Centre so you can see steam trains and also normal services on Didcot Parkway; nice video
It would have been good if the Didcot Railway Centre were running some trains on the day that I was here but sadly they weren't. You could still go walking around the centre though.
Well for a perhaps shorter film than normal from Didcot Parkway, you covered quite a lot of bases there sir! Perhaps you were just off with the DB 66 from Morris Cowley-Southampton on the car train as you did have to park the car but oh well! There's always next time! A decent video nonetheless mind and nice to see a colourful mix of tanks on the Theale-Margam empty tanks even if not every single type of branded tank that features in the overall stock of the tanks down south and west featured on the particular consist in this video, particularly the ex.Greenergy tanks with the VTG branding on both ends and one or two Murco branded blue, red and white tanks would have been rather fitting for the consist. I believe the plain red tanks used to be Murco branded before they were repainted but I'm not too sure and I'm also not too sure on what branding the blue tanks with the VTG branding on both ends used to have but one or two of the blue tanks as a whole plus the ex.Greenergy green VTG tanks were replacements for the petroleum tanks that were destroyed/damaged in the derailment/fire at Llangennech. You were right with the Cross Country service with the unknown Voyager pairing as the first was a 220 and the other was a 221 but Cross Country do have four car 221's as well as five car ones and I was lucky to catch one at Nottingham last Wednesday in the form of 221141! It may be rare to see a Voyager there except on the booked Nottingham-Bournemouth service or Nottingham-Reading service as it is nowadays but 221141 just happened to turn up! It was replaced at Birmingham New Street while on a Cardiff Central service by a two car Turbostar in the form of 170113 before then heading on an ECS to Barton Under Needwood before then returning back on an ECS from there to Birmingham New Street for a service over to Newcastle before the later on return run back from there to Birmingham New Street. Shame Nottingham doesn't get plenty of Voyagers unlike at various points when it did get one or two each day whilst I believe the Turbostars had some problems. Didcot Parkway though is one such place that gets plenty of Voyagers although maybe not in this particular film! Oh well! I guess you can't win them all at the end of the day! I guess it's from West to East next with the Great Eastern Mainline! How fitting that switching from one great Mainline to another is on the cards! 😂 I shall look forward to Witham next for sure and fingers crossed for some class 720's too!
One thing I have always found with the tanker trains around the UK is that you will usually find a right mixed bag of liveried wagons within the consist, very rarely have I seen a tanker train with a solid livery consist all the way through. Sometimes this station can be an absolute goldmine for freight but sadly for this day I was here that wasn't the case
@@Tornado922 You did see a solid consist all the way through at Nottingham! Actually I guess we both did in this instance... well I say solid consist but involving a mixture of blue and/or grey tanks! Nothing like this consist though that's for sure! 😂 You are right about the diamond one which indicates that it's hazardous to the environment. I'm guessing some of the wagons here were TEA's! No not tea for drinking! If only tea was inside the tanks though that would be funny! 😂
@@Tornado922Too bad that the freight was minimal! I didn't get any from the Sonning Road Overbridge! It proves that Saturdays aren't always good for freight and same with Sundays too for that matter!
I still wonder, how do you get the originations and destinations of passing trains, as I’ve tried a handful of apps but none of them show passing trains, only stopping trains.

Tornado: "next im going to Chelmsford, Witham, Colchester and then ipswich" Me: he skipped Manningtree :( Ps: im not bothered really, i hope you catch some 321s before they go there not many left at all now
Another good video. I have it on good authority that Northern are reinstating the full timetable from December 12th if you fancy another trip to Liverpool Lime Street in the future.
Wow like the video you done. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much :)
@@Tornado922 Thanks very much for replying to my comment. Have a Great Christmas see you in the New year. Take Care & Stay Safe.
Another great video & love the speed of that class 70
Thanks very much, the 70 was absolutely amazing :)
Tornado strikes gold again. Loved the tanker train of Tea and the banshee scream of a class 70. Spotting bliss. Thank you for posting good sir
I do have my moments where I seem to get very lucky, I'm glad you enjoyed watching this :)
Great video. I do like class 60s. I feel that they are really underrated.
Thanks very much, I think the 60s have so much more to offer but they certainly have been overlooked which is a shame

Excellent 👍👍👍
Thank you :)
Love Didcot Parkway and loved GWR my favourite railway company.
This is a great station to come to and if you get lucky you will get some great variety in freight traffic passing through.
Ive also been past kiln Lane level crossing which is the level crossing that those trains go through to get to Immingham Docks
right ok
Great video nice mixture shame I couldn’t make it that day as I just missed my train to get me to didcot
Thanks very much, I've done that myself plenty of times. But there is always next time!!
Looks as if 60019 gave you a bonus to see one of your favourite Diesels The Class 70 Jarred.
I was a happy man haha

Nice video. Please add Lincoln (Central) to your list in a combined visit with either Doncaster or Newark Northgate. Thank you.
Thanks very much, I have been meaning to go to Lincoln for quite some time now. I will go there next year
Love your video Tornado922. my favourite is the class 387. and speaking of that, have you ever been in first class on a train before?
The railway station is the best place to visit in Didcot from my experience. 😂😂😂
I would agree haha
Can you please go to either Appleford, Culham, or Radley? They are small stations between Didcot Parkway and Oxford
I will be sure to give them a look eventually :)
I still wonder, how do you get the originations and destinations of passing trains, as I’ve tried a handful of apps but none of them show passing trains, only stopping trains.

Tamworth or Acton are about the busiest for freight
Tamworth is always a great station to go to for freight traffic. I will be sure to give Acton a look at some stage
