Old natives pawned these w/very high interest rates therefore were enabled to get their jewels back. Traders thought they did service to natives but actually everything purchased was priced 3-4 times or even higher to natives. Beautiful native jewels lost to pawn shops... Bless our elders for their great sacrifices & struggles... 🙏💓
So what's your favorite? Oh the plain one I wear it the most. (20 seconds later) so this plain one may have the most value. You see how it has signs of wear 🤦
Nice pieces, however the string never hits the wrist when shooting the bow. It hits the inside forearm so not sure where this appraiser gets his information.
Ijustcamesh...I did have the same thought as you the string would hit the inside of the forearm but if they would made and wore them there must be a good reason Anyway they are beautiful like all Native made jewellery🥰 and worth more than money😂
I thought - wouldn't it be interesting if they had an appraiser of Navajo artifacts who was actually Navajo? And then I thought - that would probably make for very uncomfortable viewing indeed (though I guess many of them were crafted to be sold)
How would that be uncomfortable? Are white people not allowed to own anything that belonged to other races or something? If we thought like that, every other race apart from whites would have nothing to wear.
I know nothing about Navajo jewelry other than it’s beautifully made and those who made the jewelry were true Artisans! The sheer amount of Navajo Jewelry around the world, I would conclude the Jewelry was made to be sold and that is how the Tribes made money!!!
These should go back to the Indians, everyone knows they have been swindled repeatedly, time after time, she. Should do the honorable thing and give them back to the tribes.
These comments are absolutely ridiculous, you don't get to have a say in what people do with items that were purchased fair and square. Buy them and do the honorable act yourself, live by your values, instead of virtue-signalling.

Many were made and sold for the tourist trade esp after the 1920"s.
But they should still be out there and when found need to be returned
@@tommypetraglia4688 if they were sold they won’t be returned. What are you saying?
You are so right.
They can be bought, if they are for sale.
They are all so beautiful!
Love her earrings
Love these!
Oh, bow guards. I thought he said bogarts
This is so cool this brings back the geek in me. Zunimassa (Witch Doctor set) in Diablo 3! ahah
me being Navajo and doing a little silversmithing myself I can say almost all of these are Navajo made. some could be zuni but I cant tell.

I had one piece of zuni inlay and lived it, very colorful
I'm sad, stolen with all my jewels
Rick from pawn stars: “I’ll give you $50 bucks and I’m taking a chance on this.”
This bow guards are magnificent and should been given back to Zuni and Navajo nations
Lol no. If they want them they can buy them - if owner is willing to sell.
The Navajo nation alone has four casinos. You people are ridiculous.
People traded these don’t be patronising
Beautiful. Love it.

@Kayne Fryday ROTFL !!
ZEYNA ?
I always felt a strange sadness watching this show growing up and now I know why 🤔
Why?
@@quietquitter6103 I’m sad the artifacts don’t currently belong to the family of the makers
@@neshabrown2558 Do you feel the same when you see an Italian vase in China?
@@quietquitter6103 yea actually. Is their a reason you’re questioning me specifically?
@@neshabrown2558 Not at all. I saw your comment and replied to it. Why, do you feel victimised by it?

lmao the majority of Navajo items that exist on the market were made to be sold to white people.

Just keep it...cherish it
Wats the tribe gonna do?
Its gonna be declared lost...& never seen again....

If the indians want them then they can make an offer - if she's willing to sell them.
Ironic that a people that survived a genocide have their culture and art monetized by the descendants of those that sought their destruction.
Would you prefer that the pieces weren't looked after and just discarded? They're also all 20th century and why can't white people own tribal jewelry?
They monetized it THEMSELVES. Read something.
This is absurd!
why
trash, i'll give you scrap for them
