These birbs, Kiwi and Pixel, have helped my female parakeet come out of her shell. I play the videos and hold my phone above a perch inside her cage, and she stands on it and pecks at the speaker. Kiwis and Pixels chirps are very entertaining and cute, and help with anxiety and birds help me be happier in general. Thanks to birds for existing.
I enjoyed this video. I can't tell if Pixel doesn't want Kiwi around or just doesn't want him around right now. I love it when Kiwi flies up to your glasses and talks. You put him back wherever he was and he may or may not fly up again. Kiwi is amazing! Beautiful parakeets!
I think kiwi is a bit much for him sometimes, in this video it looks like he wants Kiwi to calm down especially how he see kiwi when he bites the hand 😅
I've had my fair share of bites, mostly when I was still learning about how my birds' boundaries and how to read their body language, and they can really hurt. It's quite hard not to react in those moments.
One day, I took my little Pixel (named after your bird) out of the cage out of the cage. (No it’s not that one ceiling fan story) and when I grabbed him…. HE BIT ME!!!!! he bit me so hard I started crying for help. He was the kindest bird of the four birds I have. But out of the FIVE pets I have, Cosita (chihuahua dog that stares at my birds when they are out of the cage) is the kindest one of all. She doesn’t bite and she’s cute
My Gloria constantly bites me. I try not to react but the little sucker knows exactly where to dig the tip of her beak. It stinks because I do try to get her used to my presence but it's been rocky, to say the least.
My budgie, Joey 🐦 used to do that - he's not exactly biting, he wants to play! He's sparring with your fingers. They can bite pretty hard, but they're playing. I used to call it playing knucklheads. The little knucklehead wants to play!🤣🤣🤣🐦 💚💚💚
I've only had one budgie who drew blood, and in the case that he did, I probably deserved it because I was messing with him. Izzy almost never bites, and he never bites hard. He sometimes gets a little rough when preening my face though.
I noticed on a recent video, when you kept throwing the birds to get them to fly, Kiwi got so tired of it he was just loading your fingers with nasty bites-a parakeet beak is the equivalent of a living nutcracker!
He is still playing just wants to play with Pixel more. Mine used to bite me right on the end of my nose if I wasn't paying enough attention. When I shouted "Ouch!" She would fly to top of the door and come back back as soon as I called her. They are funny like that.
Loved this video of yours. You are doing an amazing job May Allah bless you and shower his endless blessings upon you.I watch all your videos and waits for your next upload. Love ur content U deserve alot more subs and Views. I wish u alot of success and Happiness 😍
Funny, just yesterday my parakeet Nibbles bit me in a similar circumstance - but it was because she was watching Kiwi and Pixel on my phone, and I let her cage mate (and usual buddy) Neon land on my hand next to her. Nibbles ran over, chased Neon away from my phone, and gave my finger a hard bite! Normally Nibbles just nibbles! I think she wants Kiwi and Pixel to herself right now!
Kiwi sees your hand as a rival. I have 3 male budgies, and they take turns being affectionate. The 3rd one will get chased away or bitten if he gets close to the two making out.
Mine does this too, when I interrupt him playing, want to put him to bed or when he gets in randy mode. Sunny has actually drawn blood on me, possibly because he can't fly and has to use his beak more. Prefer him preening me over biting any day XD
Oh his wings aren't clipped, I wouldn't do that. He was born with a deformed wing so he can't take off and fly properly but he can sort of flutter to the ground, hence why his beak and feet are so strong.
dang. that looks like a quality cage! ur birds are so dang cute lmao i want a parakeet now . i just got my first pet and bird, a cockatiel. already love birds :3
How dare you disturb me while I'm putting my friend in a trance...he was almost in full statue form.....now I must happily start all over again....oh an sorry about that bites it helps me look tough🍀💜😃
Close to a cat when they do a harsh play by biting pretty hard he's playful with stronger bites,i don't think that he does that just as a bad behavior to tell you the truth! Your budgies are awesome love them happy new year!
@@KiwiandPixel Yes. Some of my hens have drawn blood on more than one occasion but then there is Nippy (LOL on her name) and Sunshine. Two gentle hens that I have raised
It hurts but I've never been bitten hard enough to draw blood. What REALLLYYYY hurts is when they get a little pinch of skin on your eyelid! Makes your eyes water!
whats it like being bitten by a talking parakeet? i had a talking parakeet once. every now and then he would get mad at me and my brother and we would say the bird had “gone berserk” ☠️ he used to chase us and bite he would not let go but when he wasnt biting us he would be really playful and would come to our hands and chirp idk why he used to “go berserk” but its okay he was a good birb
I remember I had to clip the claws of my parakeets sometimes when they grew to long. I had to hold them in a special way or,they would really bite me really hard. It even bled sometimes. Once they were released they came back on my shoulder playing with my long hair.
I find Bella bites me when she's on my hand or shoulder because I'm doing something and she's bored. It's kinda like saying "Ugh, hello? Why are you doing that when you should be giving me the attention?"
I had a budgerigar in 1992-2001. He was very friendly, always wanted to be around humans, would always sit on you and let you scratch him, he would fly to me in the morning and wake me up, talk, etc. However, there was a specific situation when he could bite quite painfully. It would be when he was in the mating mood and you would try to distract him. He didn't have a partner, so he would try to mate with his mirror reflection. He would get extremely excited, run around trying to touch his reflection and talk a lot. At some point he would suddenly have this very specific unpleasant smell. Back then I wasn't old enough to understand what it all meant and what was that smell, but now I do. So, he would become very protective and bite if interrupted during this behaviour, but during other times he was the nicest bird. I actually feel bad that we never bought him a female partner.
What's interesting is that large parakeets don't nececarrly bite the hardest. The only one I've known whose bites properly hurt was also pretty tiny, but she used this refined can opener technique where she'd only bite with the tip of her beak, and then forcefully jerk her head forward. She liked to land on my head, climb down to my shoulder and bite me in the ear lobes. She managed to draw blood more than once. What's strange is that she was also really playful. She was just really bitey for some reason. Though I only watched her over a few summers. Maybe she was frustrated that I wasn't her normal human. The owner didn't seem to get bit much. She also got less bitey after the owner got another parakeet to keep her company.
Parakeets can bite really hard. I had little holes in my knuckles when they didnt want to be held for clipping their way too long claws. The female bites were more painful than the male bites. And even bleeding a bit. The problem is that they use their beak to clean their butt also so their bites can get pretty infected if not treated right. By my own ointment with herbs always prevented that. Plus a band aid. And the feeding behaviour is a pretty social thing among them. A good, thing is also that they are very forgiving once the biting is over with. No matter what the initial cause for the biting was, they always came back for some attention and love. And I also like to see that you have taken measures against them flying against the window which is pretty dangerous for them. The dont see the window but want to go outside in the greenery and bang they fly against it. I,was always, very, careful,to put either curtains to the windows or else. A parakeet can break his neck and die by simply flying against a window.
At around 14:05 Pixel is like "Finally some alone-time with you and me, my dear Fingernail! Ah my beautiful fingernail, I could stare at you all day long, mi amor 🥰💞🥰*Kiwi aproaches* hey, bugger off, Fingernail is MINE now! 😡"
When I annoyed my budgie Bubi a little bit long time ago, he bit me very hard. 🤣When I tried to put him on the finger when he was in his cage, he sometimes opened his beak, and had no lust. 😂
Pixel looks so mellow. Kiwi really doesn't like to be interrupted. LOL Is it better to get two parakeets rather than one? I've been thinking of getting one and don't know if it would be lonely with just one.
I used to have 2 parakeets (the same colors as pixel and kiwi) anyways the green one would almost never bite but the blue one would bite my brother, I have no clue why because he was extremely gentle.
Boy, have I and my family have a history of budgie bites! Valerie, who has long been deceased, would fly to my mom's shoulder and bite her neck. Then again, my mom would say to her "You wanna fight?!?" in a joking manner. And now, with a baby that looks practically identical to Valerie, Jazzy, tends to bite, and not let go! I wonder if she's Valerie's reincarnation.
my budgie bites when i try to touch his tail, he doesn't mind being held in hand like i can literally grab him and he is fine but when i try to touch his tail oof i am in for a painful bite.. other than that the bond between him and all my family members is awesome took years though..
When my bird bites me it’s like a playful light pulling nawing when they are in a good mood I think but when they are mad they give me a full on peck and it pinches.

Exactly. And not reacting is exactly what you should do. When you react, it reinforces the behavior.
Same here. In the early days when I was still learning my Quakers boundaries and behavior, his bites caused bruises and drew blood.
