As a brit there's always that moment of dread when we watch reactions to Marmite, this is definitely why. On bread or toast it's delicious, on its own you'll almost always get that reaction. On toast only use about double what you had on the knife on a slice of bread/toast, doesnt need more than that. Cheese and Marmite toastie (what you would call grilled cheese) is the best thing on the planet.
It must have been hard for you to watch hahaha. I tried it on buttered toast this past week and it was pretty good! Much better than off the knife. 😂 Will have to try it with cheese next - anything with cheese is delicious!
I was dreading the tea tasting and was curious how she made it. But she liked it then she said honey and milk and that was a new dread for me. I didn't even know that was a thing.
@@chelcurated Try Bovril on toast. A lot thinner than Marmite and much easier to spread. Plus it contains 50% beef extract unlike Marmite which is vegetarian friendly.
Christmas pudding NEEDS a good vanilla custard (British custard) to taste really good. We have been eating Christmas pudding and mince pies in one form or another for centuries, so for us Christmas isn't Christmas without these two things. Mince pies were originally made with minced meat, so todays version is greatly changed since it was invented. Marmite needs to be spread really, really thinly on buttered toast, cream crackers or in a sandwich. The essential thing is not to use too much, otherwise it is too strong and can even burn your mouth like chili if it's too thick. One last thing about marmite is that even over here people either love it or hate it, there is no middle ground. We even have a saying when something produces polarised opinions, we say "it's a marmite thing". Glad you enjoyed most of the items you bought.

Try the tea again but without the honey but here's the thing. Try it after you've had a stressful day at work. Boil some water, add the tea bag and let it steep for a good two minutes, remove the tea bag by straining it against the side of the mug, add milk and sugar as you like, then take a couple of Walkers shortbread pieces, find a quiet place. Settle yourself down. Take a sip of the tea, set the cup down for a minute then dunk the shortbread into the tea 9not too long that it soaks and breaks off), after a few seconds, bring the piece to your mouth and bread the bit off with your teeth and chew. I've gone too in depth with what or how to do it, but you'll do it again instinctively as it's so good. After a taxing day either mentally or physically, there is nothing better (without alcohol) than a good cup of tea to set the world right.

Christmas pudding should never be microwaved only steamed ! A good Christmas pudding should never appear to be chewy!! A Christmas pudding should be served on Christmas day as per instructions in previous comments below either with custard or brandy sauce. Left over Christmas pudding should be gently fried in butter to caramelise the sugars (and a wee drizzle of brandy or whiskey again) and crisp up slightly and then served with lashings of whipped cream - great on St Stephen's day! There are endless variations of mince pies and quality varies enormously - commercial versions tend to be lower quality compared with those from a home bakery.
You should have tipped the Christmas pudding up side down on a plate .then poor cream over .it changes the taste totally, same with the mince pie ,warm for 30 seconds, then cream or ice cream.
Marmite is concentrated umami and salt. eating it straight from the fork is like biting a stock cube dipped in salt. It's going to be disgusting. There are endless variations of mince pies and quality varies enormously - commercial versions tend to be lower quality compared with those from a home bakery.
ur the cutest little bean
From November onward my mrs is munching on mince pies almost everyday🤦🇬🇧
Christmas pud should have custard on it
Definitely want to try it again with custard on top - sounds like a delicious combo 😍
you said you wanted to move to UK 🇬🇧 where you to live. country side, city, village or seaside.
I'm a big city girl, so I'd love to live in London! 😄
It need to be spread sparingly, about as much as you would use salt. Unless you spread salt half an inch thick on your food, you shouldn't use marmite that way either.
🤣you're face when you tried the marmite is perfect.it's disgusting 😅
Your comment made me laugh 😂 yes it was disgusting.
For the tea, did you use a kettle, or the microwave??
I used the kettle ☺️
@@chelcurated Very pleased to hear it! 👍 Brave of you with the marmite. I wouldn’t touch that stuff with a bargepole.
Hahahaha trying marrmite without toast, at least you tried it lol
Marmite is nice on crumpets
Ooo crumpets are delicious. I’ll have to try that!
I like marmite but I wouldn't have eaten in the way you did. It goes best with cheese on toast.
The Queen loves her shortbread
Never had a Oreos, they are American and only became available in UK in 2008
Oh wow that wasn’t too long ago. You should try some! The originals are best :)
I do wish you hadn’t tried marmite like that
I knowww, didn’t know what to expect. Will try it on some toast so I can see how it tastes properly ☺️
Please put it on heavily buttered toast spread it thinly.
@@dorothysimpson2804 will do exactly this! Thank you! 😊
@@chelcurated Spread it on heavily buttered toast, then scrape it off again for a perfect amount!
@@annother3350 thanks for the tip! I tried it this week, it was much better than off of the knife 😆 was pretty good actually.
When you said there were lots of flavours of 'chips' online, did you mean what we call 'crisps' here in the Uk?
Our 'chips' are what you call 'fries'. Lol.
Haha that’s good to know - yes, I meant chips as ‘crisps’ 😆
@@chelcurated no problem. 😀👍
I'd subscribe, if it wasn't for the background music BUT, all the best!
You might put Marmite in a Casserole
What are you doing eating Christmas pudding without custard
I know! It’s such a rookie mistake 😅😂
yo girl if u wanna try a good TEA TRY EARL GREY best one ever
Ooo I love earl grey tea 😍 I agree, it’s the best!
@@chelcurated love u so much
@@chelcurated oh by the way i have a recommendation for you earl grey tea with Mr kiplings apple pies they are so fruity and full of flavour i hope u do a video of that
Jammy dodgers are ok but shortbread dipped in tea is better
Raspberry flavoured means no raspberries were used.
were there not reviews on this site ? and yet you still bought Marmite ?
Most of the reviews were actually good! 😂 had to try it out regardless to test it myself hahaha
Can't imagine not having mince pies.
I now need these every Christmas.
I find it hard when in the UK we know American food is full of palm oil , grotesque chemicals , colours and has nothing real about it at all. American cheese has never seen anything other than plastic
Dip your biscuits in your coffee/tea.
Come to Manchester ✨
Manchester is definitely on the list!
