Looping in high cross after high cross against 6'5 orcs. I thought Saka played well. Odegaard started to play well in the 2nd half and then Arteta took him off - bizarre decision. I just saw Fulham with an outstretched 4-4-2 concede a goal against 10 men, away from home, when they spent 90 minutes against us parking the bus whilst at home. Liverpool are being gifted this title, and we are one of the givers.
I think this has become quite the trend under Arteta though sadly, in a game at home against a poor team and Arsenal can't score a goal. Needs some serious shaking up, it feels like if they don't score early they won't score at all.
Recently, our only strategy is reliant on the interchange between Odegaard and Saka, and then for Saka to do his magic. Else, it's all about the set pieces. It seemed like we simply don't have any other gameplan. We badly need a top quality striker in the front to have another option, which unfortunately, Havertz can't
It just felt like the team lacked belief and control, Merino felt like a passenger, Rice struggles to be a metronome. We needed a Jorginho/Partey type at CDM today, but Rice is more like Kante. brilliant at what he does, but so obvious that he lacks the passing range and vision of our other 6s.
I'll still say this again. Arsenal midfield without partey is nonsense and devoid of reasonable quality forward passes. Another trophyless season loading.
Kronek's should have brought zubimendi a year ago when edu arteta wanted him all they had to do was pay 52m but kronek's only want to pay in instalments if 25m over 2 season and all they really want is top 4 money and to get deep into champions league I have seen it all before 😢
@@ademuyiwaogunfowora1085 im not completely sure of that, Agree with you partially. Rice defends better than partey but partey distributes the ball better. But i think the position merino was taking up dint do Rice any favours. Merino was way up the field trying to stretch CB that rice had no other option to pass other than going back. But Everton was parking the bus anyway so it dint matter if merino was stretching or not they had the numbers at the back. 😐 I think its stupid tactics and over thinking by Arteta. Sad that we cant beat Everton who lost to Southampton 🫢
Merino was such an average signing. Willing to give him a little more time to settle in after his injury and lack of game time etc but I wish we signed Fabian Ruiz or Koopminers instead. Or used that money to go for a left winger or a striker in the summer. Another signing we’ll potentially have to replace in the upcoming transfer windows.
The only who was doing something in the game was Saka. And he was supported by odegard and timber. Around 60 mints arteta takes off odegard and changes timber to left side. The worst game managing i have ever seen 🙄🙄🙄
Thanks very much Charles. Just completely gutted with that result. Things going downhill fast just like last December. 2 draws unacceptable. Missed big chance to catch Liverpool. Really appreciate your expertise and your time. What happened young Gunners? 😢
I don’t want any manager but mikel, unfortunately that won’t be the case if he continues to stick with havertz\ marintelli. There’s enough elite in those positions to give mikel what he wants but he hasn’t gone for them properly. I’ll hate seeing him go one time but this is on him
When teams are playing in such lowblock we need more shots from distance. Its gonna bounce, hit hand or whatever. Those centers against tall defenders are pointless, unless we have someone tall and strong in the box.
Far too slow in our build up again. Just don’t understand why we don’t pass quicker in attack? I wish Arteta would flip players more often- maybe get Odegaard on the right for a bit?! I don’t know but we are too predictable. Need a pure finisher and another winger.
Saka and Lewis-skelly played well, besides that there was a serious lack of urgency, a general slow speed to the build up that the was predictable and manageable. I thought that trossard should have come on much earlier and swapping timber over to left back put us at even more of a disadvantage. I'm struggling more and more recently to understand arteta's thinking...
Real shame about the score tonight. Unfortunately this season we’ve simply not reached the level of previous years. Dropping points for fun at home. I hope to secure a top 4 finish and build from that, but this isn’t a title challenging team for now.
As Arsenal fan, I can say, Arsenal won’t will anything with merino. Midfield with merino is so so sooo bad. Merino is too lazy and slow mover and he spoils the speed of pass and tempo in the match
Sorry Charles this is down to Arteta, trying to be too clever with his summer signing of Havertz and constantly chopping and changing player positions and the substitutions in this game was desperate. We need a striker everyone can see that.
Hi Charles, I want this to work sooooo badly... but we just aren't getting any breaks at the moment. Can't help but feel we are paying for over-playing players in previous seasons right now. Both in terms of form and fitness. Last big results we had were away at Villa/Spurs... that's just not gonna be enough to win a league. Rest of Dec and Jan gonna be absolutely crucial if we stand any chance.
As I predicted, Everton came into the match aiming for a draw rather than playing to win, focusing instead on frustrating Arsenal. The game itself wasn’t too bad, and the team put in a solid effort, but Everton’s defensive strategy made it clear their goal was simply to avoid losing. Once again, Arsenal’s need for a top-class striker is evident. A striker who can instill fear in defenders and relentlessly push them would have made a significant difference in this match. Arteta must prioritize investing in a high-quality forward. At the moment, Arsenal lacks a reliable striker capable of delivering consistently. Some may argue that players like Havertz or Jesus fill this role, but while they are decent players, they are not the type of strikers Arsenal needs. Arsenal needs a forward who can score in every game or, at the very least, in two out of three matches. Unfortunately, neither Havertz nor Jesus fits that description. If Arsenal decides to bring in a striker during the January transfer window, even as a panic buy, I would suggest targeting Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. While it would be an expensive and challenging acquisition, it’s a move that could elevate the team. I am confident that some members of the Arsenal management are already discussing the importance and urgency of signing a quality striker. Good luck to Arsenal in their next match!
@@SirAntoniousBlock exactly we could've played three in the back and put an extra striker in to play behind Havertz. MLS must have been instructed not to overlap because in what football team in the Prem do full backs not overlap to create space?
missing partey and jorgi's passing at 6 when rice plays there. he's too slow on the ball and doesn't have the expansive passing side needed to play that role. Agree that subbing O off just as he was coming back into the game was a weird decision: The game wasn't stale because O played average, it was stale because everton shut our predictable play down, which got worse with timber going to lb. Thought MLS looked nervous after a boss performance midweek. Would have loved to have seen tierney come on instead of Partey to see what he could do down that left hand side
Odegaards finishing is absolutely shambolic in comparison to his technical ability its honestly astounding how someone with his ability can be so poor at finishing. Our midfield setup is clearly not good enough they struggle consistently, the balance is completely off. Jesus coming on when we need a goal is comical, think its time to just be honest with ourselves and accept we are not going to win the title this season even if Liverpool fall off Arsenal are not going to be the team to capitalize on it. Even when it comes to cups how are we expecting to win anything when we struggle so often to finish big chances, to go from having a chance to win the league on the final day of the season listening to Arteta and Odegaard talk about how we deserve more and we will earn it to this seasons run is devasting. Titles gone.
When you say "someone with his ability"..what do you mean ? Passing the ball 3 yards to Saka and letting him do the rest ? Genuinely curious what particular attribute of Odegaard you rate highly ? It's not shooting or dribbling or physicality. Does he make a lot of killer passes ? I'm kinda unsure as to what he does that's good aside from "pressing" which is essentially running about and pointing
Charles Arsenal have been disappointing most of the season. The pace of our game has become a problem starting slow and having to do so much in the 2 half. We’ve also become to predictable we’ve lost that X factor sides have figured us out and Arteta has been found wanting
Should have bought a proven striker instead of buying Merino. Had it been spent on someone like Osimhen, he would have scored a few goals that Arsenal need considering the kind of strikers that Arsenal have at the moment
Arsenal can't spend that much money on one player after spending 100mil on rice. It's just not feasible. I hope we get Jonathan David in 2025 cuz he'll be a free agent.
As Arsenal fan, I can say, Arsenal won’t will anything with merino. Midfield with merino is so so sooo bad. Merino is too lazy and slow mover and he spoils the speed of pass and tempo in the match
@dovahnkil-hf5yv Merino cost Arsenal 40 million pounds and Osimhen wpuld have cost 60 (that is the ampunt that Galatasaray have to pay to make the move permanent). I think Arsenal could have spent an extra 20 million or offer Gabriel Jesus as part of the deal
@@dovahnkil-hf5yv don't know much aboit Jonathan David, but Arsenal record with strikers from ligue 1 lately haven't been that great. Hopefully he'a an exception to the rule)
@@yohansetiawan1323 Napoli were asking 85mil plus for osimhen. The Galatasaray move was something they were forced to do because of their broken relationship and closing of transfer window.
What a disgrace. Everyone played terribly. How can there be no energy in the attack?? Every time we were in an advanced position we just stopped and let them get 11 players behind the ball. 0 energy. Did not look like a single Arsenal player apart from saka wanted to win that game. Arteta - you knew they were gunna do a low block, how are there 0 tactics against it?? It’s happened multiple times this season and now every single team knows how to stop us doing everything. We ain’t winning anything with this mentality. I’m so done
the three players you want for a lat 30 minute siege are Odegaard, Saka and Rice, with honourbale mentions for Trossard and Havertz, but I have a feeling games are catching up on the players, most of whom had very little time off in the summer and have been playing totally unnecessary internationals, packing out their calander, which has also had a big affect on injuries as well, Rodri and Pep were right about the increase in matches, most of which are played for the benefit of corporate profits rather than real competitions. Three international breaks in the first half of the season is crazy, changing the champions league format to increase the number of games is all about revenue, not player fitness and performance.
Even If Arsenal go and get in January, the two attacking players they needed this summer (which they won't) it's too late now. 4 points dropped from the last two games, despite dominating the ball has seen us off.
I would have started Party in midfield and Trossard on the left. No sense of urgency from most of the players and subs. Did we underestimate Everton? Probably...
Merino should've been the one substituted instead of Odegard as even though he was having a torrid time, Odegaard was the one that could come up with a moment of magic instead of Merino
As Arsenal fan, I can say, Arsenal won’t will anything with merino. Midfield with merino is so so sooo bad. Merino is too lazy and slow mover and he spoils the speed of pass and tempo in the match
@Samwilson28 Merino is a good player, but he doesn't look like he's suited to the pace of epl (maybe he needs more time to settle in the side, but it's been clpse to half a season an he's yet to produce on the field)
@@Jimmy-e6r9x yes, he was bad. But when you need a moment of magic, he should have been the one left. Once Rice and Odegaard left the field, Arsenal became a lot more toothless
@@yohansetiawan1323 He was let to finish the Monaco game and that moment of magic never came from him, so what makes you think this game would have been different. Do not let yourself have an opinion based on assumptions. It's sad Arsenal no longer have a goal scoring midfielder today.
This was a classic example of why you need to be able to change shape. If we dropped MLS when he lost his fizz and went 343. we would have had better penetration and everton would have become less compact, tempted by the chance of attacks. I agree that Nwaneri and Odegard might well have come up with the goods. I think we are still well in the game for all four competitions. Despite our injuries we are finding improvement in the sqad, Timber looks like he will be an Arsenal Legend as do MLS and Nwaneri. If they work hard and improve their games they can both become world class
A couple of seasons ago, our passing was sharp, fast-paced. They were direct and dynamic. I thought even in the first few games, we were going to be the dark horse challenging for the title. Ultimately, we lack squad depth and couldn't deal with injuries. Now, our squad is definitely better. But we lost that sharp passing and that dynamic of the team. Passes were weak and slow. Not enough movements off the ball. Obviously, teams defend us differently now. But still, we look very static. Players are standing around passing the ball backwards and side way, waiting for someone else to do something. Trossard has no support on the left. He was isolated a lot and got double teamed and lost the ball quite often. We need someone to play on the shoulder of the defenders and be able to take chances like an Ian Wright. Also, someone who can take on players and dance through the defence like a Hazard. This is an absolutely shocking performance. Someone needs to take more long shots. We're too predictable. We were playing like a friendly. Absolutely no spark.
Hi Charles, I try to be a very optimistic and positive fan, always stick behind the players and back them. But today when I saw Jesus getting subbed on, even I knew it wouldn’t be the right profile of player to score and make the difference. Everton are defensively strong and have huge height with their CBs. Teams are now consistently sitting in low blocks against us and that’s when you need Killers who can come and make a moment. Look at Olise for example, that to me feels like a missed gem. Whilst the consistency isn’t there, he at least has the ability to produce a moment of magic and beat 3 players and bend it top bins. Something we just don’t seem to have! Dissatisfied and disappointed today, struggled to see a fight and sadly squad does seem very flat at the moment.
Tough one to take. We look burnt out completely at the moment. I understand the frustration around me in the stands because it all just feels so slow at the moment. In a way, I understand it because we've been stung a few times trying to chase a winner in the past, but now, when we are so far behind in the title race it is the right time for some urgency. Such a fustraghting day. I feel we never capitalise on rivals dropping points. I'm not sure how to change things around, I'd even try Saka in the middle at this point, as I don't think January will have the market we need. Ollie
A very difficult game against a stubborn Everton defence. I had no real problem with any of Arteta's subs. I have to challenge your assessment of Skelly, He his developing a habit of safe side ways, and backwards passing, and very few sorties into the opposite half, in fact i dont think he overlapped Marti once. I think Arteta might have been better to have brought on Tierney who at least he attacks down the left. How long would he have stayed fit i dont know, but it looked a little weak down the left. Having said that, i dont think if to many crosses went into the area we maybe wouldn't have found any ones head anyway. Crying out for a "GENUINE" C/F.
Hi Charles, Unfortunately, I am getting that horrible feeling that this is not our year for the league, too many things are not going our way, i.e. injuries to key players, & not enough players able to play 90m. There is also a lack of a consistent attacking threat when Saka, Ødegaard, or Kai don't produce. I don't think we have enough players to win a game on their own, i.e., a Henry/ Bergkamp. That is the next evaluation needed in the squad.
I think you can count on one hand the number of passes he received after coming on. I kept wanting someone to find him because normally he absolutely makes things happen.
People saying Arteta out is madness, have some perspective. We seem to be so reliant on the wing play, we definitely need to freshen up the tactics, why can’t nwaneri and odegaard both play on the pitch?
People saying that we have to accept this dross need to have some perspective. Arteta is not God. The team is boring and lost with 77 percent possession! So who is at fault? A change is needed to mix things up. It happens in sports all the time. Arsenal are bigger than Arteta!
First time I’ve ever remotely questioned if Mikel is the man for the job. Fair enough Rice was injured but as ineffective as MO was he’s still the best creative outlet against a team playing with no ambition not to concede.
I don't think subbing off Rice and Odegaard was an mistake or an awful decision. We had games every 3~4 days and Rice and Odegaard played most of the games full time as well. Mikel would have surely had the Palace league cup quarter final game in mind so in a logical point of view, subbing them off totally understandable. However, with game play like Fulham and Everton, we will surely struggle and even might crash off at the league cup at this stage. Biggest problem is our attack is not a single threat to opposite defenders beside Saka's individual brilliance. If we do not bring any new LW or ST in the winter we won't win anything at this stage. P.S)How the hell did Martinelli not get past a 37 yr old Ashely Young. Really big shame on him
I think these kind of results are what we’ll start to see more of with the general lack of quality attackers and creativity in our squad. The lack of talent is due to not signing the right players this past summer, and the lack of creativity is because of Arteta’s rigid system. The fact is, no premier league team relying on Havertz, Jesus, and Martinelli would be challenging for a title this season. They’re simply not good enough.
This match had nothing to do with lack of strikers. So very casualwith passing. I think the bourmnoth game or of those ones one was like this. We really can do better
Feels like Mikel missed a trick not playing MO and Ethan together even for 10 min spell. Skipper looked to be finding a bit of form right before he came off. Merino really poor again and martinellis confidence absolutely shot. Should’ve been off at HT. Big changes needed for palace
I find the criticism on Arteta very unfair...it's fans who have been calling to Start Skelly, start Timber at RB, utilise the squad, bring Nwaneri on earlier, and give the kids a chance....he did everything and now everyone is complaining
If only Martin finished any of his chances he had in the first half this would have been an easy win. We really need X-factor player on left wing and someone with different profile at striker to Kai and jesus. In matches like these its just so apparent.
If, buts and would be's. He didn't and has scored this year has he? We wouldn't have scored if we played another 90 minutes. We are boring and unimaginative.
🔴 This is what you get when you push for a midfield of RICE AND MERINO! Slow and sideways passes! I don't ever want to see that midfield again! I'll say it again ' Rice and Merino is a downgrade on Partey and Xhaka!! Simple as that!! Partey is the best 6 at the club but he is playing at right back because of that midfield!! Let's not make excuses for Rice Charles, there was no injury! He is just an average footballer and we wasted £105m on him. He is in the team for set pieces. Merino is just not good enough for Arsenal football club! That midfield of Rice and Merino will never win you a title in any era! 🔴
…and that is the truth that so many of our English supporters cannot face…Rice is not worth what we paid for him. We should’ve bought Caicedo what’s has a much higher ceiling.
This experiment of MERINO RICE AND ODEGAARD is making us suffer removing Partey from that midfield cripples arsenal,Rice didn't even attemp a ball over the top for Saka that Partey plays time after time to open defenses from midfield,Arteta needs to stop this madness
Charles, gentlemen, ladies, we are 1,000% no longer in a title race. Initially it was, “Liverpool will drop points.” I was doubtful, but everyone else was right. However, we haven’t, and more importantly, don’t look like a title winning side. Or a trophy lifting side regarding the other cups. We’ve still got a lot to do in my opinion
Well you lot got your “dream midfield” of Rice, Merino and Ø, with Partey on the bench. It was a stinker of a midfield. Partey and Jorginho are our 2 best deep playing midfield. Stop making excuses for Rice…most players carry injuries! This insane obsession with certain players is going to kill us. Rice and Merino are not good enough. Martinelli is useless.
Well done Charles. The midfield all you English pushed and campaignef for , you got it. Absolutely brilliant midfield 😂😂. Play Thomas Partey and bench Declan.
This manager is too predictable! Everyone knows what he will do with substitutions. The ownership is even more predictable that they will not purchase a world class striker or a world class left-winger. We are left with average performances as a result and will not win anything major.
Just watched the forest game and it had me thinking about the bigger picture of the league. The teams that are having success this season are now being very direct, do you think maybe the premier league is having a transition over to a new style which brings success? Maybe the possession/control/1million passes per game days of winning football matches are coming to an end and the exciting, direct and high intensity games are the new formula to win matches. I’m here for it, it’s a hell of a lot more exciting.
Here's a big secret that nobody at Arsenal seems to know anymore: in order to win, you actually need to shoot. Ideally on goal. When is the last time you can remember that any of our players rifled one from distance on goal? We've become so one dimensional, no wonder teams know how to set up against us, we're always playing after the same playbook lately. At times it looks more like a practice match, with the instruction to just out-pass the opposition but goal scoring we'll practice at a later date.....
There is no way Øde will miss sleep ahead of a game. He is way too professional. He is just not in a good mood atm, which happens. Needs to get back very quickly.
Arteta is still something of a beginner and will be learning all the time and that is what we bought into as a club. So let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. We are still a bit short of being the finished article but we are at the stage where we only have tweaks to make. The areas that need addressing are clear but foundation is rock solid.
For two summer transfer windows we've heard "We don't need a striker, look how many goals we've scored". And now, again, we fail to break down determined defences. Pretty much every league winner in the last couple of decades has had a ruthless striker who can score when you're struggling to break teams down. From Drogba to Aguero to peak Vardy etc. Sadly, it seems Arteta is as stubborn as Wenger was for his last decade in his determination to prove that we can win the league with a compromised team.
Kronek's Should have brought zubimendi a year ago for 52m like edu and arteta wanted but kronek's don't that do they seen this all before for 21 fucking years kronek's out 😢
At this point, only Arteta believes he can win anything without a proper striker. Despite all the pressure and control, there was a lack of conviction in all the attacking efforts. There's an urgent attack need for new options in attack and it's now apparent the team is paying dearly for lack of attacking reinforcements in the summer transfer window. The attack urgently needs to be refreshed. Arteta should bring in a proper No 9, left and right wide players to replace Martinelli/Trossard, Jesus, and Sterling. Hopefully, we can give it a shot again next season. The title is gone and only a top 4 finish is realistic at the moment.
From the minute 70 on wards I knew we aren’t scoring. It’s not acceptable for a team supposedly challenging for the title. Everton by the time went on grew in confidence and the game became easier for them. The mid block and crowding the midfield and Arsenal will struggle
So annoying that we couldn't beat the low block. I see it as a big opportunity missed with Liverpool dropping 2 points today, we really needed the win to start making up some ground. Now Chelski can move further ahead of us and closer to challenging Liverpool if they win tomorrow at home to Brentford, who are useless away from home. If we are to mount a real challenge for the PL we absolutely have to start winning against teams that are not title challengers themselves.
Should have subbed Rice for Partey. What Arteta's obsession with Partey on the right? He's our best midfielder, playing him there, limits our attack, and don't get the best from him.
Hi Charles, it’s not the end of our season as Liverpool drew as well. Our whole team looked tired and so they should with a game every three games this is inevitable. And we are still playing injured players then moaning that there not fit so why play injured players? Are we using our squad players enough perhaps not , Managers are paid the big bucks to make the big decisions is it better to use the squad players knowing they they are 100% fit and there legs are not tired? If you don’t rest the top players enough this standard of play will drop, Everton were so fit as a team after 10 days rest they were able to play there hearts out just like we do when our players aren’t knackered. So again is the answer use your squad players more it has to be I think. Jon
Question Charles. At what point do arsenal begin to look for a new manager? I’m not an arteta out guy but that Everton result has made me question him for perhaps the first time. He’s a young inexperienced manager, absolutely nothing wrong with that, everyone starts somewhere right, but after a five year process Arsenal appear to be going backwards. With this current Arsenal squad, they absolutely need to be winning trophies or many of these players will look to other clubs, the time to win is now, but has arteta reached his limits on what he is personally able to do with the team?
Charles when is the right time to drop both trossard and martinelli amd think about playing sterling? Its hard to think he wouldn’t have done more than martinelli and trossard who both struggled to get past jack harrison, a 52 year old ashley young and that lundstrom guy. You could argue none of that everton right side is premier league quality yet they couldn’t get past them. Its not rocket science to put 5 players on saka and odegaard when they know martinelli is just going to do a couple of steps and pass it back. Its so frustrating to watch, with attacking returns like this from our left flank as well as the midfield we will struggle to win anything. Im hoping for a cup or a miracle set piece special in the champions league but that doesn’t seem doable with our attack being this bad, also with that attack we cannot keep saying arsenal are in a title race, we’re clearly out at this point
Hi Charles, thank you for the super good content! I have consistently seen in Mikel Arteta’s press conferences this narrative that we deserved to win and I’m dissappointed that we didn’t. The fact of the matter is we lost, and I feel that this is the SOURCE of the problem. This attitude that nothing is wrong, is the source of the problem. I wish that Mikel Arteta is more up front to his players and throws them under the bus- that they need to take more responsibility, dog players, shoot more often, and show more determination to win/score, rather than defending them. There’s only so much he / his team can do. Btw sad to see Gabriel running upto halfway line which Jesus received the ball in the Defense. There’s just no chase in that man, deserves to be a second backup, not someone we bring on when we need one.
@@anuragdeherkar4898 Sorry thought you meant gabi Jesus so I said zinni as well. I don't want arteta out I would prefer kronek's out myself seen all this before with them and arsenal, kronek's should have brought zubimendi a year ago like edu and arteta wanted we can't rely on party anymore but the kronek's didn't want to pay the 52m for the get out clores all they want is top 4 and to go deeper into champions league money.
Hey Charles, Disappointing game! Arsenal lack pace, Arsenal lack penetration when teams sit in a low block, maybe something will be done in January, time will tell, but the issues are obvious. The team had a few opportunities to catch Everton on a counter, but they were so slow and allowed Everton regroup. Watching Liverpool and you can see the difference in the attack. Players taking too many touches, no target man to trouble the centre backs, low block teams are happy to keep arsenal at arms length. Inter and Newcastle games comes to mind. U/horse-shoe shaped attacking football all over again... Very disappointing. -- Femi
We praise Odegaard week in week out but let’s be honest: he can’t kick a effing ball in the back of the net and he touches the ball waaaaay too much slowing everything down. The subs though were absurd. Everton were not even attacking so why do you even put Partey RB instead of adding more firepower to your attack? Or zombi Jesus instead of moving Martinelli central with Trossard to the left (and have them exchange)… Jorginho holding CM for Rice running back to back? Was Arteta really worried more about losing this game? how?
I hope this is the last time Arteta leaves Partey on the bench in preference of Rice and Merino when he's fit. It's absolutely bonkers to think that our best midfielder was sitting on the bench and when he comes on, Arteta puts him as a right back. We are very slow in transition. Rice doesn't help the cause with his sideways and backwards passes. Merino ain't fast enough and I hope he picks up pace soon. But essentially, Arteta lost us the 2 points today with him subs.
Whay can't Arteta try something different in attack, play Sterling down the middle, he is a better finisher, can run in behind and can carry the ball and shoot. This kind if result is unnacceptable especially at such a crunch time in the season. If you don't catch Liverpool in December, forget cathing them in January.
Liverpool after 15 games last year: 34 points. After 15 games this year: 36 points. They haven’t yet played City, Chelsea, Villa or Spurs away like we have. It’s the same squad that Klopp could only lead to 3rd last year, they will continue to drop points. Sadly, I don’t trust us to take advantage when it happens. We were doomed the moment the transfer window ending with Sterling as the only attacking addition. Time to get ruthless about our front 3 and realise that both Havertz and Martinelli need to be upgraded. Absolutely keep Kai as a squad option who in certain games can play midfield or in a more traditional front 2. But I’m out on Martinelli now, both attacking Gabi’s need to leave next summer. That same ruthless streak that Arteta showed with Ramsdale/Raya has to be duplicated with the attack.
The kronek's should have brought zubimendi a year ago but they didn't pay the 52m release clores like edu and arteta wanted I've seen it all before all they want is top 4 money 😢
Had the same thought about Odegaard. Is he sleeping enough?!? Just kidding, but agreed he was poor. One thing that always bothers me is how long the players hold on to the ball for and then they lose possession while we are attacking. Leo, Martin, Saka, Gabby they all do it. This result feels the most costly of them all. To the fans, don’t let Arsenal bother you too much during this joyous and festive season! 😅
Got to shoot from outside the box more to encourage centre backs to come out to the ball and leave a gap. Players looked flat, no zip to the passes, Everton just packed the central areas so couldn't play through them- and looked like a side who have had a good rest. No excuse though- our players were just poor- coaches can only do so much. I wanted to see more crosses going in more quickly from the flanks level with the box- with Havertz and Merino running in old style front 2 putting pressure on CB's making them face their own goal.
Rice isn’t being managed, he’s just poor at 6. This goes to show people like Charles who have been championing Rice playing at 6 have no idea what they’re talking about.
1. A million times players watch Saka struggle with the ball, absolutely no support. Its shocking. 2. Saliba if he leaves Im okay with it now. Arsenal of late needs defenders to score abd defend. Till wen carrying passengers 3. Havertz is worse than both Fulham strikers, Martinelli wont make it into ANY top half team at this rate!
Never thought I would ask you this: But do you think Arteta have lost it a little bit? Is there a plan about from Saka brilliance and hopefull corners? It seemed clueless at times: Play it around 1000 times untill a winger makes a cross which never really challenged Everton.
We've been consistently challenging for titles since 2023 now. That's a massive upgrade. It'll take a few more years till we win the Prem. But I believe arteta is the manager for it.
@@dovahnkil-hf5yv A few years? He's had 5 already? Keep up that same energy when Slot wins the league in his first season and Maresca finishes 2nd... How about that for perspective? 😒
@@christianbechhenriksen898 Most of our best players go for 100mil plus rn. So that's not something to worry bout rn. Otherwise they'd run down their contract.

@@ThePundit99 completely agree 👍
Looping in high cross after high cross against 6'5 orcs. I thought Saka played well. Odegaard started to play well in the 2nd half and then Arteta took him off - bizarre decision. I just saw Fulham with an outstretched 4-4-2 concede a goal against 10 men, away from home, when they spent 90 minutes against us parking the bus whilst at home. Liverpool are being gifted this title, and we are one of the givers.
Not sure about that. Liverpool and us might just be gifting it to Chelsea😢
This season whenever Partey is not in the midfield, Arsenal has not won a premier league game
Which is weird considering we were basically fine without him most of last year.
Yep ! and to play him at right back is a dereliction of duty!
It was beyond awful. For the second time in a week, they fail to take advantage of a Liverpool slip.
I'll still say this again.
Arsenal midfield without partey is nonsense and devoid of reasonable quality forward passes.
Another trophyless season loading.
Kronek's should have brought zubimendi a year ago when edu arteta wanted him all they had to do was pay 52m but kronek's only want to pay in instalments if 25m over 2 season and all they really want is top 4 money and to get deep into champions league I have seen it all before 😢
100@@yorygibson-rc1lw💯 bro❤
That midfield was the problem. The truth is that Partey is better that Rice in 6. You don't force things but rather look for another 6 and 8
@@ademuyiwaogunfowora1085 im not completely sure of that, Agree with you partially. 😐
I think its stupid tactics and over thinking by Arteta. Sad that we cant beat Everton who lost to Southampton 🫢
Even with a youngster at 6 the team should have been good enough to beat everton
Totally agree with all you said.
Charles you wanted this, you wanted Partey to come in as Lewis Skelley's sub and that's exsctly what happened. Partey has to start in midfield 😎
As Arsenal fan, I can say, Arsenal won’t will anything with merino. Midfield with merino is so so sooo bad. Merino is too lazy and slow mover and he spoils the speed of pass and tempo in the match
yup this charles wanted this so bad, and this is the result
man would see his best midfielder for a merino lol xD
Could have been 2 points gained on Liverpool but not with this performance!
Sorry Charles this is down to Arteta, trying to be too clever with his summer signing of Havertz and constantly chopping and changing player positions and the substitutions in this game was desperate. We need a striker everyone can see that.
Hi Charles,
I want this to work sooooo badly... but we just aren't getting any breaks at the moment.
We were too slow..our build up was nonexistent. We lacked urgency. Just too slow 😔
But Arsenal are great at keeping procession and playing the ball back and forth across the half way line…….😂🤣😅
I've had my eye on him for a while. Perfect fit for us!
Should have brought tierney on for skelly and overlap as trying something new and then replace rice with partey
We didn't need 4 defenders for the last 30 minutes.
Send them to Liverpool to learn how to finish.
Fair play to you for doing this, I've no idea how you have the mental or physical strength to put up a video after witnessing that
Charles Arsenal have been disappointing most of the season. The pace of our game has become a problem starting slow and having to do so much in the 2 half. We’ve also become to predictable we’ve lost that X factor sides have figured us out and Arteta has been found wanting
Arsenal are becoming very average as the season continues…….
Not surprised, an objective view at the Monaco game and you could see we played badly it's just that the other team wasn't up to scratch.

I’m so done
That has been the trend from the start of the season. It's like they deliberately slow down the game for the opposition to get into position
the three players you want for a lat 30 minute siege are Odegaard, Saka and Rice, with honourbale mentions for Trossard and Havertz, but I have a feeling games are catching up on the players, most of whom had very little time off in the summer and have been playing totally unnecessary internationals, packing out their calander, which has also had a big affect on injuries as well, Rodri and Pep were right about the increase in matches, most of which are played for the benefit of corporate profits rather than real competitions.
Odegaard was very shit
@Samwilson28 Merino is a good player, but he doesn't look like he's suited to the pace of epl (maybe he needs more time to settle in the side, but it's been clpse to half a season an he's yet to produce on the field)

Hangs out with Arteta for a coffee after the game, a manager’s job can be lonely
Tierney needs to play this is madness
He was inverting into the middle (deliberately) which is why he wasn't overlapping Martinelli. He's not that type of LB.
@@rgoonix Understand that but he is not helping the already weak side.
_'not enough players able to play 90m.'_
Charles said they were have a nice little kickabout AFTER the game.
This team looks gassed. It happened to Liverpool when pushing City. Terrible timing.
Just got back from the game, as frustrating as it was. I don't agree with booing. A another bad day at the office. 😭
What a game by Nwaneri. A lot of hype about him being a generational talent, but I didn`t knew he was that good. A gamechanger in the second half?
I think you can count on one hand the number of passes he received after coming on. I kept wanting someone to find him because normally he absolutely makes things happen.
@@DavidSmith-eh7rs He was a victim of circumstances yesterday. He will come good
People saying Arteta out is madness, have some perspective.
Really big shame on him
If Odegaard scores from one of those chances it’s a different game altogether ..
Pickford made about 5 good saves. They were lucky. This didn’t go our way. We move!
I agree. It seems like teams always save their best games for us. We could've been a little better, but Everton were good.
Listen rice is good but …. Your right about one part xhaka and partey are better
You people only pop up from time to time. Back to the cave buddy
No teeth at all
People have short memories, rice was incredible last season one of our best players in a season when we amassed a huge points tally.
Exactly
This is all on Arteta
Well done Charles. The midfield all you English pushed and campaignef for , you got it. Absolutely brilliant midfield 😂😂. Play Thomas Partey and bench Declan.
Your genius manager has taken us as far as he can. The performances are abject
As someone once said 'Time to go'
Not forgetting that everton defence was amazing.
And we are still playing injured players then moaning that there not fit
so why play injured players?
Them toffees where solid mate
We did got to 3 at the back as I think Lewis-Skelly was replaced with Jesus so instead of having 2 10’s we had two 9’s.
It's a cycle , every December is the same shit then go on break to Dubai come back and win a couple games.
We have out grown him we are a better team now same with zinni
Sorry, this is not an arteta out comment. I think it’s more a ‘things that he needs to be more critical of rather than being understanding’ comment
@@anuragdeherkar4898
Sorry thought you meant gabi Jesus so I said zinni as well.
Ahh! Yess, but I think 3rd choice gabby Jesus should be fine! Zubimendi, also seconded.
Hey Charles,
Disappointing game!

And here i was thinking at the first sub Nwaneri was going to partner Odegaard in twin AM roles and how exciting that was going to be….. 🙄
The more the fans and media tell Arteta Arsenal need a No 9, the more he will ignore……
We need at least 2 midfielders and a lw who has X factor to match saka on the other side
1. A million times players watch Saka struggle with the ball, absolutely no support. Its shocking.
2. Saliba if he leaves Im okay with it now. Arsenal of late needs defenders to score abd defend. Till wen carrying passengers
3. Havertz is worse than both Fulham strikers, Martinelli wont make it into ANY top half team at this rate!
Same story every time, we dominate the game in possession and chances but we cant score
@@dovahnkil-hf5yv, yeah but the best players won’t stay forever if we don’t win trophies soon.
Right now his ideas just isn’t working.
@@christianbechhenriksen898 Most of our best players go for 100mil plus rn. So that's not something to worry bout rn. Otherwise they'd run down their contract.
Without Partey on the midfield everything is average
Straight from the get go we were not on our game.
Our main target is fast becoming top 4.
