Thanks to everyone who got in touch about the portraiture idea! I've had quite a few photographers come forward, so hopefully I can get out for a walk with all of you at some point over the next few months. My plan is to email all of the interested photographers a few days before each shoot so that you can decide which day(s) you'd like to get involved with in advance. If you haven't already emailed me at some point, could you drop me an email (john@johnmckenna.net) so that I can add you to the group email? I'm heading out of the country for a few days but I'll get in touch when I'm back in the UK! Thanks to everyone who replied! :)
Hi John ,another brilliant set of stills. The mist is the icing on the cake and takes your shots to another level. All the best for your future projects.👋👍👍
your making me jealous with all these wonderful images from such a wonderful location Loch Lomond & the Trossachs is there a better place to be, the joys of living about 20mins away, pop in the car and every time you visit your sure to capture something different every time. Well done
You do have V interesting ideas / plans. Your imagery with reflection / colours and detail are stunning. I think your backing etherial sound defo adds a lot
All so beautiful. Your videos are so nice, I'm really enjoying catching up on them. I've not been to those Lochs, but seen many photos of Loch Ard and the boathouse. Absolutely love this one of yours with with the golden leaves dotted in the image. Thank you for sharing..... Alioban
Stunning images John, congrats on the portrait image, competitions are a great way to improve your photography and getting a placement is great reward, I had an image placed as a finalist last year in a competition and I was over the moon so I know the feeling. Thanks for sharing some amazing images, I remember driving around that area in my younger days watching rallying.
You really cracked it this time, John, lovely conditions and some super shots, a lovely luminosity to your images, I really loved the image with the large Pine tree foreground, and lovely detail. I am in Saltcoats and would be very happy to meet up for a Landscape shoot with you and have a good old photography chin wag if you thought your lenses could cope with my coupon.
Great shots again John , I always drive past the Loch ,never stopped to grab some shots ,I guess I will never be a landscape photographer until I get boathouse shot 😂
Your days out are inspirational and note taken of the locations. I have no idea how you find the time with working and getting up early for sunrise or out late for sunsets (summer of course). I never have the time working 8 to 10 hours a day, the majority remotely at home. Kind of jealous. New banner is great. 🙂
Those images at the first loch (don't know the name) are ALL portfolio shots John they are incredible. The one at 10.17 is sublime and wondered if it was focus stacked . I'm going to watch the rest of the video now. Wow have just viewed the obligatory boat houses image it is absoluterly stunning. Congrats on making the long list, short list next year no doubt.
@@JohnMcKennaPhotography Hi John I've came back to watch this vid again as I'm doing this very walk tomorrow 10/2 , thanks for the inspiration, probably the wrong time of year but hayho.
@@marellacoyle6999 Hi Marella! Hope you have a nice day for it. I'll not be too far from you, I have a morning planned around Loch Lomond and Loch Fyne, so hopefully the weather will be kind to both of us!
It always amazes me that we don't see more shots of Lochan a' Ghleannain, its a landscape photographer's gift and its so easy to access yet looks so remote. Some lovely shots and worth another visit before the years out. I'm up for a collab if you want, although I reckon a shot of me would only win a gurning photo contest. I did manage to get shots into this year's Stirling Photography Festival yearbook though .... definitely not a self portrait 😉
Thanks Iain! It's a great location. At it's best when there's been a hard frost and the lochan freezes over completely. Congratulations on the Stirling Photography Festival inclusion! Definitely re the collab!
I’m viewing this a year after it was posted. Did you ever find someone to collaborate with on your portrait idea? Did you reenter the competition? Once again, a wonderful video. Thank you.
Thanks James. Yes, quite a few people came forward, and plans were made but unfortunately the weather got in the way, then I ran out of time for the competition deadline, so I didn't re-enter the competition last year. Hoping to try again very soon!
One of my favourite spots for photos (and biking) and you manage to get some great shots 👍🏼 I actually drove past you as I drove out of the car park on this day, but it was only after I passed you that I realised why I recognised your face....otherwise I would have stopped and said hello 😊 Really enjoy your channel and videos and looking forward to the next one 👍🏼
Thanks Colin! Were you in the car leaving the car park as I was walking back from Loch Ard? (around 10.30 am on Friday 4th?) I remember passing a car, but didn't see who was inside. Small world! Perhaps we'll meet up there again as it's one of my favourite go-to locations!
@@JohnMcKennaPhotography That was me, I'd just finished a bike trail after an early morning photo session over at Loch Katrine and Loch Chon.....I'll definitely stop and say hi next time 😊

Thank you! :)
Such stunning compositions of color and light. So calming.
Thank you Bob! (and thanks for subscribing!) :)

Thanks Marella! The first loch is called Lochan a' Ghleannain. It means the "little loch of the glen". No focus stacking in any of the images :)
