I've always had a fascination with diesel locomotives since I was a youngster. My Dad drove the big loco's as his job. He took me with him along for the ride many times in the cab. A different concept of view when your riding in the cab, compared to a car. I miss those days with Dad. Brings back some good memories. Be safe all you railroaders. Thank you much for this.
It is a great sound. Since I've started doing this, I've come to appreciate the variety of sounds out there that are surprising pleasant to relax and sleep to. Many of which my subscribers have helped me to discover through their suggestions.
There’s nothing better to do then just sit idling, waiting a local to pass on the single track, and admire the great out doors of the Rockies, or watch the glowing and shining Great Lakes 😁😁😁(I’ve near had this experience before, but I want to someday!)
Thank you so much for this sound. I love it and it lets me sleep so peacefully. Shout out to all train drivers, engineers, controllers, track repair crew out there. You keep the world going.
I bet that was great work. I used to love working the night shift when I was in high school. I'd walk outside around 2 am and stand in the middle of the town square. It was so quiet and not a car in sight. Doubt I could do that today.
I love this sound because this sound reminds me the nights I had to wait at least a couple of hours at the station to get on the train which will take me to my hometown. Back then I was a university student and sometimes during winter the night trains were late at least four hours if you are lucky :) Imagine a small station full of people and you cannot find anywhere to sleep or sit so I had to go outside and find a bank to sleep or at least lie down under my warm blanket :) The best part is this constant sound never stops and it is the best asmr you could ever find and also outside you don't need to worry about if you would miss the train if you sleep because the train wakes you up when it arrives :) Oh really miss those days...
It sounds like a great experience. I made a video for me featuring the sound of wind in leaves because I fell asleep once under a tree on campus. I recall seeing the sunlight dancing between the leaves as my eyelids began to close. The temperature was perfect and the wind balanced it out so it was very comfortable. Best nap I ever had in my life. Nostalgia is a powerful tool when creating sleep videos and I always try to imagine scenarios. Things and scenes that other people experienced while falling asleep and I try to capture some of that. Thanks for listening!
@BlackAtomProductions thank you I've always had trouble sleeping in the hotels when I get off the train I just decided to try playing and idling locomotive and I slept the best I've slept in years since I've been working for the railroad
Odd, there should be no commercials in the middle. Only at the beginning and end, which UA-cam shows on all UA-cam channels. Unfortunately, the only way to avoid this is with a paid subscription to UA-cam. Thanks for listening!
It reminds me of the sound of an idling Hackney cab which I would sometimes hear coming from outside while lying in bed as a child in central Scotland.
There is another diesel train that ticks over in Waverly Station in Edinburgh Scotland, that has me sleeping in minutes. I can't find it here. SAD FACE 😢😢
Probably but all I'm really concerned about is that people are listening, enjoying and hopefully getting a great night's sleep. Don't get me wrong, comments are nice and yours is greatly appreciated and thanks for listening 😀
I'm a engineer for Union Pacific Railroad the locomotives here sounds different than this I've been a engineer for 20 years all for UPRR. Where is the sound of the air being released from the condensers
I can make one with the sound of air being released from the condensers. I edited out to leave just the sound of the engine idling. Sometimes I edit out certain sounds, and other times I don't.
I don’t think that’s the point of these videos. It’s ASMR for sleeping. Last thing you want is to hear air being released etc. Just pure engine sound is the best.

SD60M? Strangely clean from dirt and grime. Salute from Utah👍

Lol brings me back to when i would kick my legs up on the dash and wait in sidings for more important trains to go by

Awesome locomotive sound
It sure is! I love the sounds of train engines idling.
Sounds like an GP35 or an SD40/2 - sounds nice though!! You should find some more like this!
I can definitely do more of these. I'll still try and track down the es44ac if I can find it.
@@BlackAtomProductions love these train sounds to and look forward to them
Love it
It’s definitely a 567 roots. Gp35 and sd40 are turbocharged. This is more in the SW1 neighborhood.
Wow super this sound effect really used in my train working model ❤
Glad to hear that, enjoy!

Thanks, greatly appreciated 😀
This engine idles at the exact same speed my recliners massage function vibrates. I basically have an idling train simulator.
It's nice when things work out like that 😂 Enjoy, and thanks for listening!
If you run this audio at half speed, you'll be surprised what you hear! A small steam launch engine happily thumping along at 140 rpm.
Thanks for listening!
Please make on initial start of locomotive

That’s doesn’t sound like a train engine idling. I don’t even hear the pressure release valves popping, and the air compressor engaging on and off.
Thanks for listening!
Obviously he just wanted the sound of the engine not the other sounds that come with the train.
Try 0.5x
