Ya, & best bit he went to go host the original, so got a taste of how is supposed to go. Because the countless shows, esp panel shows & sitcoms that is takes from BBC or whoever, then tries to change it or just didn't get the right feel & it flops is to much now. Task master being the biggest debacle, ffs the Scandinavians foot it right& they're supposed to be weird & not that funny, & have the language barrier
i still miss his contributions, but this is def a better opportunity for him and Amber. just hope Mango Mussolini or the Muskrat don't dismantle CNN like they promised to do to all TV news stations ad nauseam.
My mom's friend voted for Trump, and I remember her complaining about how Biden is funding the war in Ukraine while there are roads in her area that have loads of potholes. I can never understand how anyone can think that an issue like that is more important than hundreds or thousands of literal human lives.
And yet Biden doesn’t give a damn about the over 43,000 people (including 18,000 children) that the IDF killed or the 2 million people Israel is starving to death with our money and our blessings. Maybe some lives are worth more than others.
The kicker is how few people are aware of things like the infrastructure bill, the Chips Act Build Back Better. He was taking care of us and them at the same time!
Wood: thanks for the advice on going to New York. I'm from North Carolina and I've always dreamed of the big city, but I 100% hold doors for people and say "how's it going?" to strangers I pass on the street -- even at 2am in the bad part of town
There's compromises: obviously southern cities like Atlanta, Nashville (maybe even, like Richmond). But from my experience growing up in DC, as long as you're outside of the *core* of downtown, we've got plenty of hospitality and people who will warmly respond to a "how's it going?" from a stranger.
i think he also hinted that folks in the South are a bunch of gossip mongers. true example that certain small towns lack a bowling alley for them to hang out in.
My son, who voted for Trump apologized to me for boasting about it and pissing me off. I apologized for calling him stupid. He needs my avocados and I need him to move things.
That's how life is supposed to work, it's why you get group tasks in school, because you're going to have to work with people you don't like/ get allong with, but you put the differences aside to accomplish things that need more than 1 person. Seems the country, & world, is getting less like that
@@kurtsudheim825 No. If you plan to vote in a country’s election, you need to understand what you’re voting for. Every person who voted for Hitler was complicit in his crimes - even if they just shrugged their shoulders and went back to eating avocados afterwards because they weren’t Jews.
@@TPaine76 well the apology wasn't going to change anything... and the solution is to outvote the crazies the next election... so just... hang on I guess...
Excellent, good mom. But as a mom, it may not hurt to just remind him over the next 4 years, as things go to hell about why choices like the consequences and consequences can really suck for other people. It's a really important life lesson. Good thing he's learning it young, cause a lot of these damn people are learning it old
@@Viceroy_Sundercles_IIII have one like that. We've been friends for close to 20 years. I'm not going to cut her out, but at the same time, I plan to spend less time with her, at least for a while.
Ever knew someone in a toxic relationship? The moment you cut them out is the moment you surrender them to thier toxic partner. Respect thier choice and don't tell them what to do but disagree with them, show them there is something else, be the 'enemy' they know, but also be a friend, never cut them off if they don't harm(physiological included) you directly. You don't have to spend every moment with them but be a real person that confronts them. The moment the idea of compromise dies is the moment democracy dies, and that's the moment you'd do the same 'they' do, to get what you believe you want.
@ Democracy is already dying. It started when MAGA decided treason shouldn’t be punished. As for myself, I have enough issues in my own life that I don’t have the sanity or training to help deprogram people that are in a cult. It’s incredibly stressful and draining to deal with those people. They want to strip rights away from the vast majority of people I care about, so mustering compassion for people that have no compassion seems like a fool’s errand. I will not sacrifice my own mental health for people who don’t want help. I need to be able to be there for the I CAN support and help and I can’t do that if I’m overwhelmed by depression.
Re:past episodes with *Tim Burchett* as panelist: Just touching base today, 1/23/25, after watching U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) on CNN refusing to answer "yes or no" to whether he agrees with Frump pardoning violent Jan.6 offenders. I previously only knew of this guy with the folksy twang from watching Roy's show, so was dismayed to see what a dirtbag he actually is. So, Roy, can you go back and do a CGI edit of the Burchett episodes, perhaps superimposing an actual bag of dirt atop the torso of Burchett? My southern-fried heart would be much obliged.
My takeaway was more of a "don't put all your eggs in one basket." Amber has never come across as someone who would actually promote the idea of using a person. This is just my opinion, though. 🤷♀️😊
I thought she was saying be honest to the Italian person. Continue the relationship long distance, but make it clear that it will not be an exclusive relationship.
I’m so glad Roy got this show.
I like him

I was just thinking the same thing. He has a great mix of wit and wisdom.
It is such a perfect fit for him and amber! Also i love micheal too.
He is a legend....
"Or wait for the midterms and dunk on they a*s" 🤣🤣🤣
Roy is killin' it! I love this show.
Somehow this became the most real show on "TV". Thanks Roy.
We love you Roy! So happy you got this gig!
It feels wrong to say it, but I'm so glad Roy left the Daily Show. I enjoyed seeing him there, but this is even better.
This show. Is. Getting better. Meanwhile The Daily really is getting better after Trevor....... and after Roy. Yikes, 'ey

A great way to start the morning is to take the piss out of the news with HIGNFY

Roy doing the old Craig Ferguson close up to the camera bit, ah a throwback
Awwwe! 💜 two comedy kings in one sentence, luv em both! Roy, your show is great. bring Craig on, why not?
it would be AMAZING to see CF on this show🤩
Love you Roy!
Amber out being real. Probably just have the Roy ask the audience questions and have Amber answer the audience questions lol
Bigger surprise to me getting into this show wasn't that Amber's gay but that Michael Ian Black is *_straight_*

Some people are just ignorant to how evil he is. I let those dumb people stay in my life, but there are people who know better that I’ve cut off.

Good advice at the end. Just try sudden topic changes away from politics
Heard from an older person as a teen: we can talk about anything, but for politics & religion! bring that up & we won't remain friends
Hilarious how Roy thinks a trump supporter would ever give an organ to someone/family on the other side of the isle other than their 🍆. Peace/JT
He's 45?
Do without that liver bit…
They should have gave Roy the daily show ……… or I wish he would have stayed
That 1st part....yesss. But he made his own new show.
