But if we're going to talk about greatest "playback" singer, we've to hand it to Mohammed Rafi. He was an institution of expressions, like I was amazed how does he got the idea of using expressions in that kinda way. You just need to listen the guy's voice and you get the scenario, you can literally guess the actor he's singing for. Regardless of any language barrier. And that aside, he was sooo versatile like comedy songs, sad songs, romantic songs, English version of his songs, bhajans, qawwalis and etc. the 60s 70s were truly the golden era of bollywood playback singers. Such blessed exceptional talents like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Talat Mehmood, Hemant Kumar and of course the Classical Titan Manna Dey and many more.
