Thanks! Really enjoyed the music and video. It is really nice to see Feldberg throws in slow motion since he uses very little elbow. He use to have a more traditional throw. Do wonder if he made this change due to it be easier on a older body. Anyway... thanks for taking the time to produce the video!

thanks for filming this and editing. I'm very glad I found a nice slow mo version of his tecnique, this should help me a ton since I don't tend to bend my elbow much.

Dave's form could be the most safest out there. It's elbow and knee friendly.
Things that have led me to permanent injuries in 10+ years of bad form:
    1) Planting foot being straight during the pull: The force coming from weight shift is too much for the knee joint. Especially combined with rotation from the heel in follow through.
    2) Pulling trought a direct line, elbow bend in mid stage close to chest: Although this "slingshot" effect generates lot of power (arm speed), it's very likely that you can't stop the momentum after follow through. The hand motion violently stops and elbow joint absorbs the energy, which leads to all bad things.
The mechanics in Dave's form doesn't have issues listed above. It's simple and smooth/natural to execute, which also helps in consistency.

I'm impressed by the consistency in his technique. You could superimpose 20 of his drives and it would still closely appear to be one uniform motion.... very little variation.

Not quite. There's some elbow there, but not much. To me this shows the absolute truth of Jay Reading's assertion that disc golf is 100% timing and technique, and nothing else.
Dave's timing is absolutely impeccable, and is what generates his extreme power. He learned to throw on very tight, wooded courses where you and I would not call anything at all a fairway.
My guess is that Dave quickly learned that the less elbow he used, the more accurate he could be, and so he developed his technique to use less elbow, and he preferred accuracy to power. With his physical talent, and extreme dedication, he has been able to make that technique acquire him a world championship, and more National Tour wins than any player in history.
I'd be entirely happy with a form that emulated Dave's, and only made 75% of his distance. :)
