Night Lord - the calm one. World Eater - need I to say more? Death Guardian - a happy one. Alpha-legionarie - a weird one. Even in THIS GROUP. Iron Warrior - the most sane one. But paranoid.

They're pretty much a successor of the main Legion that pushed the Horus Heresy, being Horus' Legion. Even though their father is now dead, his second in command lives on and leads them, that being Abaddon.
Sort of, because their whole thing is that they’re not one of the original legions but made up of parts united from every legion. They’re homogenous by design. Also, other comment isn’t entirely accurate because almost all the Sons of Horus were wiped out after the Horus Heresy. The Black Legion’s only real tie to the Sons of Horus is Abaddon, and he desires a unity that goes beyond legion.
Tl;dr: BL is cool and overhated, "Talon of Horus" and "Black Legion" by ADB are worth your time. There's a lot of misconceptions about the black legion. They aren't the Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves 2.0, their ideology is wholly different, they believe that the traitor legion's legacy is nothing but Ls so they form a new legion whose sole purpose is the destruction of the Imperium. "From shame and shadow recast in black and gold reborn" = your primarchs are now daemons who don't give a flying fuck about you, the legacy of your legion is losing and running like a scalded dogs, dap it up here if you want some *real* payback on the Imperium bro. There's a lot hate on Abbadon by people whose only refrence is stale dogwater memes, they say he's a bland character, I think that's BS. His character arc from the Heresy to the Legion wars is really good, from being this immature brash asshole, to essentially taking over command of the Sons of Horus after Horus became essentially a vegetable because of Chaos power to a hermit disgusted at the legions reduced to bandits fighting over scraps in the eye and finally as the driving force behind the long war it really gives lot of perspective to the founding of the Black Legion.
@@Dogue83 loved the twist in the Black Legion novels where he deliberately went into hiding for Khayon & Co to find him and the whole Horus clone stuff. Really shows they're nothing like the SOH
