- Howdy folks! Enjoy the great outdoors with the Country Bears Vacation Hoedown! This version of the show ran from 1986 until 1992, and features the Bears singing songs like "On the Road Again", "Ghost Riders in the Sky", and the grand finale, "Thank God I'm a Country Bear"
Out of EVERYTHING at Disney, this was my father's favorite.
The camera work was spectacular. So steady and focused!
This is the show I remember - Ghost Riders was the best! & Thank God I'm a Country Bear and Rockytop.
WOW I never seen that one until now.
Almost 20 minute shows. Damn.
The original shows usually went up to 15-16 minutes

If this is from Disney world since Melvin, Buff and Max are on the right side shouldn’t this video be from 1986 since that’s when they stoped the vacation hoedown.
No they started it in 1986 it ended in 1992 but at Disneyland it ran until 2001 when it closed

Melvin: After 50 years, he’s still good.
Buff: & so we thought...
Henry: Howdy, folks. Welcome to the summertime extravaganza with the Country bear jamboree. We got Sunny beaches, Ice cream & lots of outdoor activities to share with Y’all.
Gomer: *still playing*
Henry: Ladies & Gentleman, The 5 bear rugs.

Henry: *chuckles* nicely done, Boys. *gomer started playing* & now, here’s a fiddling Country bear who loves to be out with our Mother Nature....Sing it, Ernest!

Trixie: *sighs* a nice picnic here in the great outdoors. Got some sandwiches, drinks, & a nice blanket. But there’s something missing....my Boyfriend. Idk why he left me, but it sure breaks my heart...

Max: Hope she doesn’t eat too much, like buff. *Laughs*
Buff: Hey, who are you calling-
Henry: AHEM! Watch your language, boys. *gomer playing beach music* Well, folks. What could be nicer than a day to the beach? With the tropical sun dancing on the silvery waves & the Palm trees swaying to the Hawaiian music? Well, we got the 3 cuties & our pal Terrence the Shaker along with his Octopus girlfriend to see some wonderful sea creatures in the sea last week. So, You like to show us your slides?
Shaker: *curtain opens* well, Henry. I thought you never asked. *henry’s curtain closes* Hey Rufus, turn on the machine please?
*sun bonnets goes up*
*Rufus tries to switch it on & crash sound*
Buff: Oh great, another slide show.
Max: Hope it goes well.
Melvin: wake me when it’s over.

Shaker: *Octopus moves left & right* OW i’m trying to sing here!

Henry on guitar: *curtain opens* Uh oh, don’t want to let the theater stink. Ahem....here she is, folks. The beautiful swinging queen of the rainy days. Swinging teddi beara!
Max: She’s looking Lovely....
Melvin: Uh huh....
Buff: Will you 2 shut it?

Henry on guitar: That’s a really nice Song, teddi.
Teddi Beara: why thank you, Henry. Would you like to come up & sing with me in the rain later?
Henry on guitar: just as soon as I find an umbrella, it’ll be a date! But there’s another thing I like to do in my vacation, why go camping of course. With the moon shining bright, a camp fire to keep us warm, & Mother Nature to entertain us with some good o’ campfire songs. Ain’t that right, Wendell?
Wendell: You said it, henry. There’s nothing like some good o’ mountain music around the fire....

Randy: NO! Wait! Don’t kick me out again, I’m a nice skunk & I want to be in the show!
Henry: Well, can you dance & sing?
Randy: you Kidding? I been a tap dancer all my life. *tap dances on Henry’s hat*
Henry: OW! Ok, ok I got your point. You know what, how about You can just go ahead & sing with us.
Randy: Yipee!
Henry: Sometimes I get tired of recreating, vacationing & tap dancing because it’s way too much for this old country bear. But at least it’s just simple life....

This was the country bear jamboree at Walt Disney world during the vacation hoedown overlay. You can still see the original version of the show today though the animatronics have been spruced up and the show length has unfortunately been shortened.
