If my friend's FZ10 is anything to go by, they'd have to put a 30L tank on it in order to get anything approaching sport touring range :)
It would not surprise me if one was on the way. The Yamaha big bang motor needs to be in a bike like this!
I think they used to think the MT-10 Touring covered that segment. They don't do them any more though & AFAIK they don't do panniers for the new one. Maybe they've got something in the works as panniers seems an odd thing to miss in the options.
I've got my eye on one of these as my next bike, so will be watching all your vids on this.

Excellent. You criticised the tyres as a weak point at the launch. So it will be great to see the improvement with decent rubber fitted.
I’m sure this bike is going to be an eye opener on the Chanel, I’ll be looking you up at Cadwell Chops great place to test the bike out buddy.

This is what makes all the different options for bikes so good and for some this will be a great option. For me it's got the looks only a mother could love, though I do quite like the colour of the wheels. Your opinion on the ride quality will be interesting chops.

Intriguing vid. I'm definitely interested to see what you think & what you do to it. I have a feeling this bike is a bit of sleeper & is much better than it was given credit for at the launch. I think from what I recall the tyres & brakes were pretty average so sticky rubber, new pads & braided lines would be some relatively cheap but game changing additions, especially for the track. Would also love to see it with a mapped full system on too hint hint lol. Also very interested to see what Greg's been up to as well. : )

I would fit the NEW Bridgestone S23 tyres with the rear 190/55... I would also check the speedo read out with a gps first to see the error in the OEM set-up and then recheck the speedo with the 55 profile. The 55 profile may make the speed read out spot-on.

Love my gen 2 GSX-S1000, that K5 esq engine is a toquey joy that gets better the more miles I put on it, Character is something 4pots struggle to capture, but this one’s a peach now it’s breathing thru a Pro Sport GP slash excuse for an exhaust! Sounds demonic on cam…

I’d def like to see this on a track day. I’d also like to see Triumph create their own version with the 1200 triple. A new Tiger Sport 1200RS with electronic suspension if you will. Looking forward to the updates on this one chops.
I went from 190/50 to 190/55 on my 4C8 R1 a while back and was uber chuffed with the result. Had to make changes to wheel sizes in the ECU, but I was remapping it anyway, since I put on a full exhaust, so I will be very interested to see if you'll end up having to get into the electronic gubbins and change things around. The only reason I had to make ECU changes was just to make sure speedo readouts are as close as possible to stock, on modern bikes I imagine there's loads more to worry about if make such changes so it will be very interesting to see. Great bike, btw!
Niiice, the k5/6 was one of my favourite bikes of all time and after Suzuki gave it the long legged treatment it quickly became a huge point of interest so I'm very much looking forward to your point of view 😊

Test rode one that had not been run in and the shop said they don’t need to be. Found the brakes to be lacking in bite and the mirrors vibrated so much at motorway speeds they were almost useless (could be the brakes were not bedded in and maybe the mirrors were not installed correctly 🤷🏻♂️). The non adjustable screen meant I was getting a lot of wind noise (5’ 10” medium length back) and I was told the sat nav on the dash only works when you have the Suzuki app open, but overall I was impressed and with the electronics offered on this bike it seemed like a decent offering from Suzuki.
Looking forward to seeing what you think of it and how it compares to the BMW although I suspect it won’t really be a competition due to the premium feel of the BMW…

concours 14 all hot rod out flash exhaust suspension ect.. goes high 9s in quater mile I have -- cant get rid of it - super sport tourer -cant go wrong with GSXS cheers
When I heard all the journalist about this bike I thought that a 190/55 might maybe be better then the 190/50. That would raise the rear a bit and put it a bit more on the nose. I believe that is what you are hinting at. Would be a plus on topspeed and a min on the accelaration. Don't know if the electronics will react. Probably trade a little stabilty for quicker steering.
Get it run in,get it on a dyno...Chris Moore was only getting 128BHP with a full de-cat system fitted running 89RON fuel...as we run 95RON,be interesting to see if it even makes 128(Tracer 900 was a huge shock,85BHP at the wheel-new Suzuki 8R is pushing low 90's uncorked).
Did Gregorio buy the Hypermotard 698? Or the New Superduke?
I wonder if this bike could benefit from a re-map? A lot of reviewers said it was a bit lacklustre, strange because its engine is derived from the legendary K5 engine that was in the 2005 GSX-R1000.
I have the original GSXS1000 and honestly compared to what’s around now it feels like it was made by Massey Ferguson… the most basic electronics, no ride by wire etc. Hopefully this one is a bit more modern
I got the original GXS-S 1000 too. The biggest problem is the suspension ; it's total crap . I don't mind the basic electronics etc as the bike is so reliable

Got power 6 for my gsxs, couldn't have wished for better tires. Never touched any of the power modes or assistants, tc off, power A. Very controllable.
I looked into the gsxs1000gx I like the looks and seating position but I just brought the tracer 9gt plus as you get more equipment Ie heated grips ,centre stand , panniers, for a lower price than the suzuki .

Nice long termer Chopsy, some of the testers suggested that the GX is restricted, is it true? I think I would have preferred a basic non electronic suspension version with a similar price to the GT ???
I test rode one of these a month back, agreed those Dunlops did nothing for the feel, maybe Michelin Power 6’s or Road 6’s would show it off better. The bike wasn’t for me..but I’ll be very interested in your reviews of the next few months..👌
Sweet. I'd love to know what do you gain and lose with the added height in comparison to the GT model. Do you gain agility while losing stability and feedback? Just trying to understand the whole reason why brands are going to the superbike on stilts thing instead of the good old sportbike made comfortable recipe.

Those dunlops are not fit for purpose.
The Tracer 9GT is the one I would put my money on.
I mean they are nice looking overall, but the rear side panels for the panniers look a bit clumsy. I’d like to ride one

For the same amount of fuel, the CP3 will go double the distance. My MT10 stays in the garage, I always use my 900gt for touring.

Forget the tyres, piss that 2ton muffler off. See if you can a Yoshimura Alpha slip on. You save 2metric tonnes and it sounds so much better. At 66yrs old I'm still running 2016 GSX-S1000F and I will be till I shuffle off the planet.
My understanding is these aren't selling? And equally specd up they're only a grand cheaper than a baby MS. Got a gsxs1000 and the baby MS, best way imho.

Had an idea before I even saw the unfurling of the covers.
Suzuki GSX -GX - Must admit, I saw them a few months back and thought cool idea (However, Suzuki how many more renditions using the basis of 2006 GSX-R 1000 are you going to bring out ? It's getting a little thin now)
Also, why oh why have ALL manufacturers started to make the fuel tanks so small looking and covered in copious amounts of ugly black plastic? What's happened to the full on fuel cells that we came to know and love ? No doubt tit'll be the excuse of 'Well the plastic in a fall will negated the need to pet a new tank on at some cost'. The tank is pressed out looking like a peanut the rest hidden away. Remember the likes of the Duc 916, Honda VTR1/2 SP, early ZX=R's, etc, a real fuel tank of beauty.
I thought Suzuki would by now have have the foresight to change the wheels, swingarm at least to make the appearance that of not just another' PARTS BIN' got to get rid of surplus GSXR stock leftover custom.
Now, you may be thinking hold on, you said the GSX-GX is a cool idea yet you're poo pooing it. NO! Just Suzuki's laxity in using a rolling chassis with different body work and longer suspension.
It's a bike that has a certain fascinating appeal but Suzuki could easily have made it look that bit different. such as a spoked wheel version, different swingarm and even dare I say it, trellis frame !
None of that would have bust the bank of finances and given this bike at least an independent look all of it's own.
As is, when I saw the price of nigh on £16K for what is a rehashed 06' Gixxer, quickly lost interest.

Difficult to believe Suzuki made such an own goal with the tyres - more or less all the reviewers commented on them and we all know that tyres can make or brake a bike.
And it's not as if people dont lnow how bad they are.
Its not a case of them being less good than other tyres, those dunlops are legitimately a terrible tyre.
