Love the info at the end! . Rez dogs are pretty tough ! I volunteered for a group called RAVS( rural area vet services) many years ago. They did trips to different reservations and offered free spay/neuter vet care. Met a lot of cool people and dogs.
This is too funny, I swear you guys are basically the same as the Maori's in New Zealand. Our small towns have dogs like these that act exactly the same. My uncle had a tiny chihuahua called Brutus, he was king of the street. Chased everyone away from our corner, he was boss of all the dogs and even latched onto the balls of a new rottweiler that moved into the street and won. That dog never tried to bother Brutus again. The dog I had then, would lie in the middle of the road with his kitten tribe and stop traffic. He would also just sit in the middle of the yard when we got the jehovas come around, he would just stare at them and freak them out. It was hilarious. They soon learnt not to come near our house and they would cross the road to avoid us, and cross back over when they got far enough away from my dog!

I'm a white woman, moved to a small town in Ontario. I wanted to bike to a store on the near by Rez. I was getting directions from someone who's mom lives there. Her last piece of advice was to watch out for the rez dogs. Jeez, she ended up freaking me out so bad it took me a long time to finally get up the nerve. Thanks so much for your videos you guys. I think Native humour is the BEST! Hands down!
It is nice to know that there is a community to support the Rez dogs. A friend of mine used to drive a Pepsi truck and delivered Pepsi to the Reservation from Flagstaff. One day, he came home with a dog. He named her "Stray Dog". The best dog ever. She went with us travelling around, going boating on lakes, hot springs, canyon hiking. I took her to school at NAU one day and I was only going in for a short time and then I was going to take her hiking. It was thundering and I guess I left the window in the truck down too low. When I came back, she was gone. I looked for her for 2 weeks, talking to local businesses and walking along the roads and through fields between NAU and North East Flagstaff. Circle K guy told me she had been sleeping under a car at the mechanic down the street! Dog walked 20 miles but could not get across the under/overpass with the traffic to get home. We all cried so much with joy. She ended up moving to Hawaii with another friend of mine where she lived out the rest of her life. What a dog. Definitely NOT an Alpha! P,S, Love your show!
Freaken hilarious. Its true they mark your house when you have mean dogs. When I was a kid, the NTUA guy told my mom we wait until someone is home before we get out to check your meters. He said your house is marked with a RED thumb tack so we know you have mean dogs. 😂😂 Don't worry, they were in our yard and never got the NTUA man.
Years back our dog nearly had the meter dude pissin himself and I was dyin laughin. Dog smacked against our glass backdoor and I swear I haven't seen a grown mam jump like that without a basketball 🤣🤣🤣 all the meter dudes refused to walk in the yard after that
Literally how we got our dog: 2016 Gonna take a road trip out west, and said to my husband "we're not going to be those hippies who go out west and come home with a traveling dog". June 21st: driving through Navajo land, stop at a gas station / trading post in Teec Nos Pos. See super cute dog. Dog comes up to me as I get out of the car, looking rough. I give him some water. Go into the gas station. Come back out, give cute dog some beef jerky this time. Waiting for my husband. Start petting the dog and pick some ticks off of him. Stop picking the ticks. Dog puts his nose under my arm. Heart melts. Husband says "do you want this dog?". I say "let me ask about him". Go into the trading post and ask the proprietor of he knows anything about the dog. His answer: "he probably belongs to the people across the street, but no one will care if you take him". We put dog in car and drive him to the closest vet. Find out he is on the brink of death. Get him medicine and a de-ticking. Name him Sundog. Drive Sundog home to Michigan. He is the best dog I've ever met, with a beautiful personality - the light of our life. Thank you, Navajo people, for allowing me to bring this animal into my family. He is also a neighborhood celebrity, and people keep getting dogs after they meet him, but their dogs are never as good.
You just stole somebody's dog, dude. There's always tourists coming through thinking they're rescuing a stray, but they're just stealing someone's dog. "Noone will care if you take him"??? WTF. Did you actually go ask the people if you could just take their dog?
@@monicanlamppost The dog was neglected. He was emaciated, thirsty and starving, covered in ticks, and had a tick-borne disease that almost killed him. We literally saved his life. He is well-cared for and happy now. So you don't get to judge.
@@earthaforester3141 so instead of taking him to a local shelter or community service center so he could be rehoused you took him. Like I’m not faulting you for doing the best you though was for at the time, but it does highlight the mentality people have when they travel through native sovereign land. They see something and take it, instead of contact the proper native people.
@@gamer242mooo I understand what you are saying. But we would have adopted him regardless of where in the country we found him. It's not about taking from Native sovereign land. Most shelters are under funded and overburdened as it is. We did what we thought was right. We gave him health care, safety, love, and a home, which is what he needed, and what he would've been waiting for in the purgatory of a kennel anyway. He's not a child who needs to stay with his people and remain connected to his culture. He is an animal. And we had permission to take him. I didn't even ask the trading post owner if I could have him - he offered him to me. It didn't feel right to abandon him, knowing I could provide what he was in desperate need of. I don't believe in seeing a problem and pushing it onto someone else when you have the power to do something about it. I truly believe Sundog would have been dead in a matter of days if it weren't for us - and we've had two different vet clinics tell us as much. He is a part of my family now, and I cannot apologize for that. I think the story of how we found each other is a beautiful one.

You guys, I just love your channel, and, so far, all the guests. Natalie is superb, I think I subbed before, if not, I will. Beauty, brains, and humor, most important. I loved the mention of Rez Dogs needing care. Spaying and neutering, local vets should give deals! But I assume people dump them there, too, which is awful. I live in Kingman, Az. There was a table of Native, mostly women and girls at Walmart. They had pictures of dogs from 3 of the reservations closest. They've been working on a 'standard' and had a petition to AKC to create a breed. These dogs were like a bit sleeker, German shepherd or Belgian, Malinois, but had some border collie. They said the had some coyote, too. They looked it. I signed, and as they were taking suggestions for breed names, that was fun! They were thinking 'American Indian Shepherds'., or 'American Rez Shepherds' .There were a few joke ones that were cute. I suggested 'American Coyrez Sheep dogs' or 'American Rezote Shepherd'. They seemed to like mine, too! I've not seen them, so don't know, but I know it can take a long time with AKC. I'd like them to become a 'thing', and Native women, girls, have them as guardians!👍🥰🤎✌🎃
“It’s always the little ones” .... so damn TRUE, that’s no joke. Was working on a local Res. and had a giant mastiff-Doggo (or something) mix come up on us and he was seriously intimidating, but that huge dog made friends with us immediately and even hung out with us for most the day. I swear he took the role of protector and we all felt safer the entire time he was with us. There were mountain lions (& legends of a tiger escaped from either cartel or others) in the area, we didn’t fear them with the big boy with us. But the smaller ones... no exception, they were out for visitors’ blood, no doubt. This video is so true, SO true. Ya’ll are hilarious, keep it up.
Laughed out loud the whole way through! Also- I used to have EIGHT dogs. Here in rural Georgia, if you get more than two, then everyone knows where to drop off their dogs!
I so enjoy your videos. I'm a middle aged woman that lives in rural Ohio. No native people here, sorry to say. I laugh and learn through your teachings. I like to see your hoop dancing.
AWESOME! From hilarious beginning to the Native Rez dog resources at the end. My dog isn't Rez, but he was Ghetto before I got him. 160 pounds, when he cuss barks you'll definitely pee your pants. My Native neighbor Forrest is afraid of him, so I built a fence. I put Andre on a leash and tried to see if Forrest wanted to make friends - that would be nope. So Forrest throws his own personal solo parties, and one day he was dancing up the alley. It was a great performance, so I kept The Giant inside (160 lbs going all warpath) but at the top, Forrest started picking up rocks and throwing them, and, like a lawn sprinkler, he was going to rotate around to our cars at some point. So I let The Giant out, and stepped out with him. Andre cussed, and the dancing changed. So I yelled - "Hey Forrest, Hi! whatcha doin back there?" It was quiet for a moment, then he said "I'm afraid of the dog". I said "no problem, I'll hold him for you. If you head down home, he won't go to your house". I didn't lie, I went and held my cussing giant still, I just didn't remind Forrest there was a fence. "Yer good to go man" Forrest yelled "thanks" and booked on by. I yelled "have fun, be safe man!!". Now I know that when I can't see the Forrest for the weed, the party is downhill away from the machines. I gotta get my ghetto dog his own pack. Or at least a chihuahua to run in front.
It was so cool, last week I was watching the nightly news and they were talking about the "running as medicine" run. I was like I learned about that from you guys before! It was funny listening to the journalist talking about how they need the recipe for fry bread🤦♀️. I love learning from you guys!
I drove through a rez once with my son, on our way up a hill we noticed a tiny dog walking along this long hill with no water in sight... I tried to help him but he just was to fast for me. I drove to the CHP to ask for help and told them this dog was out there causing a traffic jam to entice them to help me... they responded with " sorry its a rez dog". They wouldnt even try... I figured shit out later but that broke my heart a bit. Thank you for sharing the two organizations, I think this is what ive been looking for to help me with that day. I dont know if that dog made it... but i hope to help one like it. good episode guys. thanks for the laughs

@@littlepinons Maybe it's time to spay and neuter said pets then? We already have enough homeless and unwanted pets in this world
@@alexandersupertramp7353 yes that is why I took all the puppies. 5 girls. All now fixed. All now not making more. I can't force my family to fix their pets.
@@alexandersupertramp7353 and too few wild animals. Neuter and spay, thats fine, let some of the wild ones grow to fill a gap in the living system. Man, i went to Afghanistan a while back, where they call em "bully kutta" dogs... I'm telling you, even in Asia, i could take ten stray dogs from any region and they would fit right in😂. The kids are so good with em too, they do the same "hidden" stone trick.
Appreciate the awareness of saving res dogs and intro to organizations who want to help them. Good job guys.
This is the most funny and wholesome thing on the internet. You do a great job making me laugh then hit me with the "feels". 4-Stars always
Truth!!
I’m a 63-year-old NuYoRican woman who loves you guys.
We have have “Rez Dogs” in Puerto Rico too. We call them “perros satos.”
Whenever I feel really down, this channel makes me laugh and inspires me. You guys are always giving back and helping people. Thanks!
Aw, nice to have Natalie back, she's so pretty and lively. Kind of weird too I recognized the meaning of 'miyo pimatsowin' even though I'm 'Ojibway' and not Cree. In Ojibway, or rather, Anishinaabe, it would be "mino bimaadiziwin" meaning something like 'good life'.
edit: btw that's seriously the cutest rez dog i've ever seen too at 11:32.
This episode was undeniably the funniest one so far. Definitely worth the wait. Especially liked Natalie’s Rez dog training camp commercial. We only have a cat, but I still felt a strong urge to sent her to get some training.🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was hilarious and thank you so much for sharing the resources! I volunteer at an animal shelter and with dog rescues and when I was at Pine Ridge the joke became if you wanted to find me ... find the Rez dogs 😂 - gas station, someone’s house, working LOL they’d find me and I’d drop everything like “oh you are so cute” 😂 I would be the one in your video running towards the dogs. In all seriousness though I wanted to do something for the dogs but didn’t know how to best help - so thanks for sharing along with the laughter you provided 💕
Natalie should be a permanent addition. She's so funny!
I agree to the fullest.....I love her laugh it's sooooo contagious
I tried to friend request her on social media but she like nah...... respect others's privacy
She could do her own show!!
OMG My grandma had a Chihuahua named Brutus! (Also a tough little guy, he watched out for his tiny sister, a deer-faced Chi named Angel.) ❤
Hard, so true! I have a mini foxy that just somehow owns all the other dogs 😅😂 *once we're warriors music* Mojo the Mus? Mojo the f*kn gorilla!! 🤣😂
@@ashtrix8413 all the little dogs are so mean! As a kid I was always more scared of the little guys than I was of the big ones. You definitely knew which of the little dogs were the boss of the street 🤣
@@morningstarghuleh1087 🤣😂 it always reminds me of looney tunes, the tough bull dog and his yappy little mate, then their roles reverse by the end and the little one is slapping the big one around 😂🤣

The Rez Dogs🐕 that got housing before the Niitsiitaapii-(Native), lol is from my Nation in Canada. A lil Rez Labeled Brocket by the Caucasian, Piikani is our Tradish name.
We too have a Rez dog rescue within our nation ✌🏽😎 . I sure appreciate the cultural aspect of your vids. Our elders are all greatly protected across Indian Country, I’m proud to be First Nations with You all. Heyyy, all my relations. ~hand to heart~ 🪶
My cousin and her husband were visiting the Navajo Nation a few years back and found a sick injured puppy. Of course, they added him to their pack of Huskies and he was loving life, once he was feeling better.
Best episode EVER! Natalie is a rose between two thorns. LoL I'm part of Kansas City Great Dane Club's Rescue. I'm a foster mama, so seeing those Rez Dog rescues warmed my heart. Thanks for posting this.
Rez dogs have a cutoff for how far they run...omg right? LOL
The energy Natalie brings takes your sessions way up ! She definitely should be part of the team 😁👍🏻
More Natalie! She compliments this show so beautifully!
Thanks for the shout outs for SaveRezDogs and RezRoads!
"the crazier you look the better" Lol. You all are hilarious.
It’s great to hear there are organisations caring for Res dogs. All dogs give unconditional love and deserve our help.
Patrick the duo has become a trio. Natalie is the funniest 🤣I laughed the whole video. Yall need to add her if possible.
I laughed so hard at the one titled “how to out Rez the Rez dog”. I had to rewatch the rest of it cuz I still laughing. Great vid. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So funny! I adopted a res dog in Montana. My youngest son names our animals and he called her Pippen. She’s long gone so this brought back fond memories of Pippen🐕🦺🥰
When you find out your grandma was a Rez dog! You guys, I laughed so hard on this one my jaw hurts. Good one!!
Woody was a stray res dog with parvo, then diabetes for the last 3.5 years. Lab/shepard lived to be 12.5, he got all the looks in the family.
Hands down!
Natalie was crackin' those jokes and killin it! So funny. Love all you guys.
Dog smacked against our glass backdoor and I swear I haven't seen a grown mam jump like that without a basketball 🤣🤣🤣 all the meter dudes refused to walk in the yard after that
Thanks for putting up the Links to help the Rez dogs💜

@@monicanlamppost watch him eventually just get up sending someone coming onto his territory and goes running back across the country
You guys are so funny, and kind. I love that you pointed out the positive programs going on in your community for the rez dogs. Please don't stop.
I got chased by a rez dog in NM that was a chow breed. Oh my, I have never run so fast in my life. I really thought I was going to die. There are charities for rez animals. My family donated and got a calendar every year of scrappy dogs and cats.
It's either spirit energy or special effects....when the 3 of y'all laugh it sounds like four people, I swear to God. Great video as always! Natalie is delightful.
There is 4 of them,Natalie's sister is in the room jus not in frame....
😂🤣😂 WOW!!! This was the best one yet!! My son and I literally laughed throughout... Shout out to our alfa rez dog " Charley Brown"... 🐕
I love Natalie and her infectious comedic vibe! Always great to see a Franklin with P&J!
In the mountains of AZ we drove through the Apache res to fish their lakes and non res lakes. Driving through one small town we always took dog treats to get the res dogs away from the road so traffic could drive through!🤣🐕
I watched this yesterday and came back this morning with my coffee to giggle again. I love your jokes! Thanks for adding the groups in there- Rez dogs need love too ♥️ I adopted a German Shepard Husky mix and he’s big for nothing..a big chicken 😂 tries to be a security guard just quietly says “boof” instead of barking at the door.
🤣
Great to see Natalie again. The three of you work well together.
wow, Best video EVER !! mostly because Natalie is SO funny !! Glad to hear she has a channel at the end ! Have her back soon ! this was one of your funniest episodes !
I love Natalie! She is amazing and she is responsible for some of my snort laughing!
Spay and neuter we have the responsibility of making the right choice
💜This.💜
For FYI, look up spay USA. They'll send you vouchers to take to participating vets (there's plenty) and the cost to spray and neuter is DRASTICALLY reduced. For cats and dogs
No one owns most rez dogs, they are community dogs for the most part.
So, puppies, illness, injuries, deaths are the dog's fault? @bruanlokisson8615
When they asked her what the dog looked like and she made that face.

That would be such a great start to your birth story, "...I was watching Native React..."
😂 Best part was the plug-ins for supporting the rez dogs. Thank you! 💕 🐕
"When you find out your grandma was a Rez dog" OMG I can't stop laughing!
Gee how
OMG sooooo funny... the feather...
I love you guys!! & Natalie is icing on the cake.. but this is country dogs in general. My pack as long as it’s family coming down the dirt road all is good, they know the car sounds, you let a different car come down and my pack of 4 , both neighbor dogs are joining in and on it! You don’t come down our holler unless a text is sent. Now they can all be running in the woods being free range critters like we all are meant to be, my drum is open the refrigerator or grill end Bam!! Here they come full speed! ( I’ve actually used this to get them home) I’m just honored to be part of their pack.
Dang, Natalie is hilarious! Thank you for another great episode.
I love all the time I spend laughing with you guys. I think Natalie upped the laughter quotient. Good addition.
OMG, from the Caribbean. Island dogs are the same! You had me laughing so hard!
My sister and her new husband were able to 'adopt' a Rez dog when visiting Pine Ridge years ago. She came in the night and decided they were hers. Sunka was an amazingly smart and wonderful dog, one of the finest dogs I ever met.
Omg yesss!!! You all just made my day ❤. NAT FRANKLIN, we miss you girl! Good to see you, what a treat! Watching it again!! 😆
So glad you're still producing vids, adding Natalie is genius. Rez Dogs=regular feature🐺👍
I laughed so much through this video and learned a lot, too.
Thank you for also sharing info on the Rez Dog goups. Animal charities need all the support they can get.
Natalie is intelligent, witty and spontaneous! Beautiful, Powerful Warrior Goddess!
I'm going to call my baby a Coyrez Shepherd now!!!
Oh my gosh Natalie is hilarious! "I just found out my grandmother was a rez dog". 🤣 I'm ded.
When they were talking about the house being unfinished it’s like yeah.. that’s mine too... my kitchen came like that, since 1915.
One of the first comments! We're vacationing close to the Jemez Pueblo Reservation right now. Love your channel!

I wish I could do more than like these videos. I always have a smile on my face from beginning to end 😊
Natalie is hilarious! I love the addition. This was one of the funniest ones you’ve done yet. Keep it up!

I figured shit out later but that broke my heart a bit.
