Midge's alabaster skin, well proportional and small waist figure, plus a very attractive face make it easy to dress her and must be a wonderful model for the costume designer.
This is one of my most fave shows. The costuming is so thoughtfully planned out. I could tell that without knowing the backstory. I am lead costume designer for Broadway Jr The Little Mermaid in Charlotte NC. I have until July 26 to have all costumes made & ready for opening night. I have to finish all my outstanding orders to be able to do this show. For the next 4 weeks sleep is optional! 😳
Hi Barbara Jean, thank you so much for commenting. My background is in theatre so I feel your pain. When I was younger, I pulled many all nighters. I wish you a successful opening. Cheers, Heidi.
I've only seen a few eps of this series, but I just couldn't put off your content that long! I can see why this is so much work! and while I know nothing about fashion I DID notice how much the colors set the tone, and the fabrics are a huge part of that. Such interesting info on what had to be custom made and how attire was changing at the time! I completely see the 'more teenager look' idea in that! Also VERY cool about that pattern being sold for charity. Thanks for amazing as always work!
The red dress in 9:10 I'm 80% certain is based on a particular Dior dress from the 1950s, though for the life of me I can't find it. The closest I could find was this: pin.it/4xcZqor. It also reminded me of the now infamous red dress Claire Fraser (Catriona Balfe) wears to the French ball in Outlander season 2, particularly around the neckline.
Hi Tatiana, yes, I know the one you mean. The silhouette is different though: mobile-img.lpcdn.ca/lpca/924x/r3996/b8b56ab7-fd15-11ea-b8ad-02fe89184577.jpg
Vogue patterns have a reissued 1955 dress and coat combo in the shape of No 8875. There are several reviews but honestly most do not do the pattern justice.
Love all of the costumes for Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (including her mother). Thank you for doing this series.
Thanks Brooke!

Thanks so much Reflective Rambling. 😀
Wow! Wonderful, fascinating video! Donna has done such "marvelous " work regarding the costumes ! Cannot wait until your next video! Fabulous Donna!
Thanks for commenting Marjorie.
Great video! Love her in the jewel green, darker reds and black. They really bring out her best features.
Love the video 💕 good job 👍 I will confess, this series is not necessarily on my “must see” list - I watch it for the fashion 😝 my favourite era
Hi Linda, so nice to see you. I think the costumes are easily some of the best parts of the show.
The red dress really reminds of the red dress from Me Before You that Emilia Clarke wears, I don't know why
I can see that!
Yaaay! I've be waiting for this one.
Hope you like it!
@@Costume_CO Love it. ❤️

@@Costume_CO Still a fabulous dress though.
It is!
@9:36, that pink jacket makes a modified re-appearance in red during a final series episode.
Hi Victoria, that's very possible. It's the same cutter on that outfit.
Her mother was so chic. Could you do one about her?
I'd love to know where they got the shoes too
The print dress the one she is wearing in the court with the matching coat, I. In love with it, please I want to find ❤. Thank you.
Hi Sagal, that dress and coat was custom made for the show.
