Glad you enjoyed! Yeah it's a very bizarre situation, lead roles are generally only recast if the actor is no longer available, deemed too expensive, or involved in some kind of controversy. This is the first instance I've ever heard of an original actor being denied a role in a sequel for seemingly no reason.

Different media of course but Feathers McGraw makes an appearance as a villain in the Wallace & Gromit video game "Project Zoo" too on the Gamecube, Xbox and PS2! I've always considered it a sequel to The Wrong Trousers since it takes place in the zoo that he was made a prisoner of in that film 😁

Great video as always. Even though I enjoyed the story of Chicken Run 2 and think that Aardman did a great job at resurrecting the characters, I do prefer the first movie. Simply for the reason of there being less jokes and better timing thereof. In my opinion Chicken Run 2 looked too clean and vibrant. Especially the "Squid Game Playground" felt very out of place.
Thank you, I'd definitely agree with those points! "Clean and vibrant" might be to do with them cleaning up shots with CGI in post, giving everything a slightly artificial look - which is a shame. The atmosphere of the original film remains unmatched!
One thing I was joking about is that Mrs Tweedy actually looks a little… YOUNGER in this one, that if she was smart, she could have made bank on the gravy-based skin care treatment. But yeah, I was surprised that she survived falling into the nugget processor- they have her come out covered in breading in one piece and I’m like “NO- NO WAY SHES STILL ALIVE!” But I guess that could of been too horrifying. XD But I agree with you, the original chicken run IS better, but the second is still nice and I genuinely enjoyed it. … oh yeah, also I was cringing at the rats almost falling into the processor- cause that… ugh… has actually happened before.
Yes that's a good point actually, think it's the different hairstyle and clothes. Just to have her falling into the machine and cutting away would've been a fitting demise I think. Both great films, I dread to think about the rats now you mention it 😳

The scene where ginger was taking Molly to only look at her was very tense in a good way! Was one of my favorite scenes personally since it changed it from being cartoony in a way to serious.

I really hope we can get 4k Blu-ray releases of all stop-motion Aardman movies. The Studio Laika 4k Blu-rays were gorgeous. I believe there are sequels that are derivative and then there are sequels that are poetic. This is a poetic one. Like George Lucas would say, it "rhymes" with the original. Can't really imagine the Chicken Run-verse without the content from Dawn of the Nugget anymore.

I honestly think that Aardman should should definitely make more original movies. And even though this doesn't necessarliy mean that i dislike Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon and Chicken Run 2, i honestly prefer movies that offer something that we've never seen before, I could take movies like Early Man and Arthur Christmas for example.

Chicken run 2 is a quite enjoyable film while it may not be as good as its predecessor and i will admit it does have some cliches where it has the over protective parent not wanting there child to go out into the world due to said parents dark past that type of plot has been done many times with films like finding nemo and the lion king 2 but it’s still a very enjoyable film with both enjoyable old characters (even if some of there original voice actors didn’t return due to either old age, controversy or sadly passing away preproduction) and some likeable new characters so overrall it may have some problems I quite enjoyed chicken run 2

It was enjoyable enough, had some good jokes, but was very hit or miss, some of them fell flat, had a few pacing issues as well. I doubt I'll watch it again though whereas I've watched the original a few times over the years as it's just absolutely brilliant
