Yeah I think faux calligraphy is the easiest place to start- and then you can move on to actual brush pens. I remember when I was just starting out I got a black tombow dual brush pen and some chisel tip calligraphy pens- but when I just used a regular fineliner to do faux calligraphy, it looked a lot better than what I had done with the real brush pen.
One of these days... just one of these days, I pray to write like you. Just an ordinary ball point pen and you STILL make it look effortless... how Sarah?? Just how many years did it take for you to have perfect handwriting? Your print looks to be made from a machine. Every single letter is perfection. 😫😫
Yes this is a good pen...we often think good tools guarantee good writing while what matters most practice with whatever is at hand... Can you show how to add shadows to calligraphy next
Typically when something on here says best advice, I hope its good, but don't expect to be......but this actually is great advice... for lettering, all art....life actually :) Thanks for the reminder!! :)
I always wanted to do this but I dont have an actual caligraphy pen so I found a tutorial how to do it without a caligraphy pen. It’s actually harder but I can live with it
Lemme tell you before I got my brushpen I did everything in my hand to letter pencil to pen to felt tip pen etc the results are not so good so I blamed it on stationery and bought brushpens little did I know I did worse than before all I need to say it if you can't do it without a brush man don't buy a brush instead practice hard! From my personal experience. I remember I used my brushpen so much after that it frayed and filled notebooks and sketchbooks. Now I possess the ability to actually letter with anything pencil , pen , brush , felt tip pen , highlighter . I can control pressure . I wasn't able to back then this is it.
