Dude, I really appreciate these videos that you make. I love seeing so much focus, passion, and attention to detail dedicated to the Force. Thank you for the time/effort🙂🙏
I have both. I’ve been an MPC user for years. I love the Force. It’s a real beast. It’s got a lot of advantages over the MPC but as a creative sampler the MPC wins. It’s just so easy to sample on to the pads and mangle the sounds. I know the Force can do it too but there is something about the MPC a workflow that’s great for making weird beats.
These are two devices I picked up like 3 months ago, I love them both. I tend to fall a bit to the Live 2 because of the speaker grill, I can wip up an idea I have on the fly and keep going with my creativity. I can play a guitar idea and quickly get it down and losten back to it with having to do all of that for my Force. The latest software update on the Force was phenomenal to me. Akai has been REALLY killing the hardware department this year, the Mini MPK, The Live 2, The Force Update are big stand outs to me this year. Great review!
Great videos, mate, thank you - I've yet to buy either but am erring toward the Force now the update is here. It'd be useful for Akai to actually describe who they think each of their machines is intended? You'd think each would be more clearly defined. It's been a minefield for me doing all this research and reading as to the functionality of Live 2, MPC One, and Force.
Can you use the MPC Live 2 as a MIDI Controller? My MPD32 has stopped working n’ i'm looking for a replacement. I like what the MPC Live 2 is capable of but i'm unsure if I can use it like how I used my MPD32 as a Midi Controller for Ableton. Please respond, Thank you!
I'm glad we didn't have to watch all of that bif baf pow! Knock out game footage a second time.. thanks! I've just ordered the force... I'm gonna try again. I had the mpc live for a few weeks when it first came out, and i sent it back because it lacked multitimbral midi, song mode etc. We will see this time. Hopefully not too buggy...😁
@@PinkBuddhaAcademyyes, maybe just one pow! knockout would be enough for the joke..? And my first impression of the force? Its amazing! No comparison with the terrible experience i had with mpc live. The Force is full featured, solid and professional. Well done Akai Pro 😁
Yeah - I have mixed feelings about Akai on this. On one hand, it's now finally here and a more fully functional instrument. But the fact it took them 1.5 years to get there....? Essentially, they were selling a $1500 beta unit that was barely functional at the time. I returned mine, initially, after it was so lame. Glad I waited and bought it for half price later (used). And now it's finally starting to shine!
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy Roland did exactly the same thing with the new fantom. Brought out a half finished beta for £3000 expecting pro's to buy it, 5hen hang around 1.5 years while they finish the job. The sequencer is all but unusable, I'm selling my fantom. Too late.
Thanks for so detailed review! I want to ask something, I'm searching for a backtracking device that could make up for the drummer and keyboardist on live stage. Which one of these (or any other) would you recommend? I need to put in the necessary for let's say 14 songs maybe. Thank you in adavance for any tip!
The force could be used for that. If you play guitar, you should just be aware that you have to trigger new sequences, etc. with your hands. Honestly, if you're not looking to have much variation in the tracks - you just need something to play the tracks. Hell, it could just be your phone.
haha please tell me you know the name of the producer and track title for the song we as a nation hear when we’re on hold 😂😂😂 The original matchup brought me here. Fair fight fair fight. I lean toward the MPC Live 2 as a nomadic producer that Carrie’s his gear all over the world. I’ve yet to play with the Force though. Looking forward to it!
Okay, so in regards to category 4, this is great that projects can be transferred to and from Ableton, definitely something I want, but I remember in the first video on this you made you said sound design options were non existent. Is this still the case? Is there a workaround to this if it is? It’s just a bit of a deal breaker for me if I can’t do that. Been doing so much research and I’m honestly so lost on what I want to get.
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy well I guess for the device itself having plenty of parameters to play around with? Kind of like the tr8s with its software (and you Can actually do all that without the software). But I was thinking about what your saying. Designing and then importing. I’d just like to know how much I can do in the box itself. And I don’t have much of a reference point as that’s the only drum machine I’ve used.
is there a possibility or button with which you can launch many clips in one click on the live? or do you only have the choice of clicking all in the same moment?
Great Video. . . again. I think you could have mentioned the FX section as well, as you can now save and load fx-racks into the chanels. That is actually my favorite feature ( besides the midi implementation) as i can now have fx chains preconfigured for basedrums and synth and dont have to store them in a hole template. see ya
The FX section is totally rad - and I'll cover that in another video. This video was just specifically to update my last matchup with MPC Live. I'm trying to just create more videos that are shorter, vs. some epic 4 hour deep dive (which no one would really watch in it's entirety...).
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy you´re absolutely right about the "couple of hours"videos. it´s easier to digest a series of shorter clips and one can refer better to a topic of interrest. i just finished ripping my desk appart and installing a bunch of usb cables instead of the midi chain. tomorow i´ll perform a timing test to see if everything is working good. finaly we got the force we all wanted so bad
Well - I stand corrected then. But could imagine that it doesn't quite integrate back and forth in the same way as the Force, as the Force's layout and workflow is much more similar to Ableton (vs. the MPC workflow).

Glad you like them!
Appreciate you responding and creating this updated opinion. Great stuff ! Subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks please keep your force Fridays, helps a lot.
You should do video on the Akai Force arranger vs the MPC song mode.
Coming!

Yeah...sampling to pads is sadly not with the force

Yes! Just have to use in controller mode (with script from Akai), or just as a midi instrument.
I'm glad we didn't have to watch all of that bif baf pow! Knock out game footage a second time.. thanks!

haha - well, thanks for the feedback. I thought that'd make it more fun, but I could always leave off "matchups" in the future.

Lol...I don't know
Hello and appreciate your great videos. Is there going to be a third rematch considering the massive update for the Force? Thanks. 🙏🏼
Haha...yes. It's coming early this year!

What do you mean by sound design? You can def transfer audio back and forth.

Interested to see your rematch of the push vs force.
It's coming! Stay tuned...

I don't think so. But don't remember
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy Thx for the fast answering!
Do you think selling the force for getting a mpc is a good idea? I like the smaller form factor and thats battery powered
Lol...you should know from watching this that I'm biased to the Force.
arrange mode in force Vs song mode on mpc?
Well...that wasn't part of the original rounds. So I didn't include it. They are pretty even, with regards to "song mode"
Can the Force arrangement track record in live Vocal audio and also copy paste to extend?
Yes to the first question - but not sure what you mean by "copy paste to extend"

🍟🍟🍟
We need a new match up!
Lol...maybe!
Round 3 now that MPC has hype as well?
Lol...I should do another rematch
If u could choose just 1: MPC X or Force?
Um....isn't it obvious that I'm biased? Mpc X has some cool knobs and all, but it's still the MPC workflow (which I hate)
I need now a force..fuck 🤣🖖
🤣🤣
All the New MPCs integrate with Abelton live All of them.

Even the MPC One?
Time for a round 3?
🤣🤣👌
So you can chop now manually on the force. That's huge
Yeah.....sort of. Not as good as the MPC, though.
midi is better on mpc - external controllers cant be mapped to controll force - which is very sad!
Really so does it only support midi going out?
@@trking92 also IN, but only notes, no CC
Can I get the force to be like a korg kp3
Yes - via the XY pad
Double K.O. = No contest
🤣🤣
