I'm only at the 2:59 mark of the video but it's maddening... why do so many people these days call line inputes 3/4 inch jacks"? They are 1/4 since jacks. That is, one quarter inch, NOT three! This is like the fourth video in two days where I've heard someone say that...
I think that the strength of your channel is focussed on the limitation and the competence especially on the Roland samplers. Expanding the whole thing now with MPC can be an opportunity, but it can also drift into randomness, like many other channels already do. It's a fine line.
I agree that my success is mainly down to consistently posting SP tips, but go back in my archive and you'll see I've been posting videos about MPCs for 6 years, its not new to this channel. I've also regularly talked about other samplers and music equipment too. Personally I don't see an issue with it as long as its related to making beats, Its been something I've always done alongside the SP videos
Something uve also done is performing really nice Beats for example on the 303. I was really impressed of the way u fingerdrummed that whole Beat. I will now tell you a secret: The beatmaking Channels that attract me are the ones that i feel like that can inspire me or i can learn something from. You were my go to Channel when i learned the sp404mk2 for example. This Video was nice to watch and i now know the MPC live 2 a little better. But i think ure also a good beatmaker and ur Work can inspire people aswell. Share your stuff:)
Thanks man, appreciate that! I used to share a lot more beats yeah not sure why I stopped. I need to get back into that habit. Next year I’ll definitely try and upload more performances with my various bits of gear 👍
ahhh makes sense now. i bought a small rca to headphone adapter to make it easy to sample from aux, but i noticed the quality never sounded as good as the line-in.
Some people say turntables with preamps interfere with the quality of the sound. The top tier most expensive turntables you can buy are phono output only for that reason.... I mean audiophile level turntables...
Yeah I imagine getting your own preamp is probably a better solution and most people that have a turntable probably already have them. Nice to have this as a backup though

Don't get me wrong, your channel is great! Especially in relation to many american channels, you win through authenticity and reduction.
Appreciate it 🙌🙏
Great refresher
🙌🙌🙌
Got anymore live 2 videos

Hope the info was useful 🙌
Thanks for the heads up! Is the MPC Live capable of enabling realtime fx on the line (or phono) inputs?
good show n tell video - well done.
Thanks 🙏
I enjoy your content. do more mpc vids
Will definitely be posting more MPC stuff 🥳
This video saved my sanity - thank you
Ah ha! Thank you!!
So given that the MPC has RIAA equalization, what would be a good turntable that doesn’t have it on the output to pair with it?
I just got a lightning to RCA cable and
Also the reason why most good turntables have their own preamps. My first one I had to buy a phono preamp.
Some people say turntables with preamps interfere with the quality of the sound. The top tier most expensive turntables you can buy are phono output only for that reason.... I mean audiophile level turntables...
Is there a reason you went with the rca-quarter inch adapter and not a separate cable?
No a cable would probably be better tbh but having those adapters always come in useful!
Eh, do they support MM and/or MC cartridges? You can also buy a separate preamp. 1210 mk2, nice....I use a 1900.

🖤
Didn't realize you had a live 2 as well lol
Yeah man I don't actually use it that much but I'm hoping to drop the odd video next year 👌
Tom looks all hard and menancing in the thumbnail, but look! Whats this! A video about two inputs! 😅
🤣
Phono doesn't sound that good on my live 2 when I sample into it in my opinion
