Based on the video montage I'm gonna say it. You do really love mono-red. You try and try to pretend that it's your biggest enemy, but then you pilot it with such song and glee.
as an avid mono-red player, i'Il always love your videos on the archetype and how you showcase the intricate thoughtprocess that are needed to play aggro correctly.
CGB, I actually think it's hella cool that you're so good at playing mono-red. You know your enemy so well, you can play their decks better than they can!

Deck is solid. Not reliable 7-0 solid (nothing is) but that much haste is quite relevant in an unsummon meta. If you play it correctly It'll hold up against regular white but Lifegain will be hard, as is Green fatties, especially on the play. Those games where you're on the play and they drop a troll on 3 will tend to make you make you sad. What I like about it is all skill choices involved. Old mono red was just play the best red creatures you had then Embercleave people. Here you have the usual choices based on curve and the usual choices of where/when to burn (which takes skill) but also there are numerous triggers involving haste triggers, attack triggers, blood tokens, and exile effects - all of which are important. Those choices also make your opponents make good choices or suffer the consequences. I expect there will be a lot of those familiar comments where people say 'I played your deck and got killed' on this one, 'cause if you don't play it right you will get killed.
From the title alone, I could see CGB's soul leaving his body. What wretched deal he must have done and which vile demon convinced him, this is the stuff of nightmares
One interesting line you can do is have a Pit-fighter on board, play an Epicure, and you can immediately sac the Epicure with the Pit-Fighter for cards because of its etb damage
This is such a good idea CGB should just make another Mono Red video with a tweaked version of this deck in a few days to make the character happen. Then we'd need a video where Evil CGB the Gandalf banters with Emo CGB the Red Mage.
Wouldn't mono black be the Emo CGB and mono white be more Nerd Chess CGB? Why not add another personality as mono green Jock CGB while we are at it. This content just makes itself. 😂
Deck looks fun, and I love the sweet mono red intro. I didn't think I would miss seeing red decks on the ladder but turns out it was nice to see this one after all.
39:08 If you pay close attention the duplicate card you don't know about will come from a different place in their hand during animation. So you won't see the card anymore in the hand but you'll know there's another one. Comes up fairly often with fading hope and divide by zero
I was trying to find a way of making a good build combining Fireblade charger with Provoke the trolls, which would kill them, or other things off with 3 damage, and then pump them with 5 attack, thus allowing the fireblade to dish out 6 when it dies.
@@Big_Dai Ya, on it's own Provoke the trolls is generally just a poor burn, but because it has the versatility of being able to add 5 damage to an attack, it should be able to work in a deck with the right build. But that also means having a deck with quite a few 4 toughness creatures, and maybe having some way of getting the Fireblade Charger to 4 toughness could also help. Or, if the Fireblade is about to receive a pointless death, then having it ping for 6 can also be worthwhile. Just saying, that in the right deck build it may be a very good card.
39:06 the key is that the eye goes away only if the land has the same art as the one that was revealed. It stays if you're like me and likes to pick different art styles for their lands.
@@Mortonbmx If you'll notice, I said "key" as in extra emphasis. It would be easy for people to miss that part about the art needing to be the same, and assume any basic land of the same color would remove the eye.

It is surprising how many ppl seem to forget or shrug off the two damage hit from Gatekeeper I've been a fan of adversary since it came out. Its a fun card when it comes in clutch to replay a spell and swing in with haste
First match today was against this "undefeated" mono red aggro. I guess it´s your fault CGB :) Just kidding, I was able to smash it with my stupid giant deck. The biggest limit of this deck is that it has no card draw and if your opponent removes a couple of creatures or overpower them with bigger creatures you´re going to run out of gas very fast. Thank you once more for the great content!
LMAO, I saw Creepy Puppeteer for the first time ever yesterday... and I saw it in multiple decks. I figured this must be the reason. And now that I see the video I realize just about every monored deck I saw yesterday was this exact build.
May I ask an Arena question? I'm a paper magic player since about 2012 and I remember hearing when Arena came out that they limited the amount of Rares and Mythics in decks. I thought it was three mythics per deck and one copy of a mythic rare per deck. Am I wrong about this? Did this change or did I get my info mixed up? Maybe I'm thinking of the last Duels game. I definitely remember that the reason I never got into Arena was because I thought they limited Rares and Mythics in decks so if someone could clear this up for me I'd appreciate it.
Been looking for a home for my Chandras.... suspect that she might just underpowered.... but I've been trying to make monored happen for a couple of weeks. Been having it handed to me (my butt, that is)
I have opened 4 Chandra now, and I want to figure out a home for her as well. Ever deck I play with her has been awful. I suspect that putting ramp and value into a monored deck just isn't what the deck was asking for. I was hoping he would address it in the video though, because I am lost on this one!

44:40 I ve been playing rakdos vampires for a while now, and no gatekeeper is actually good even when people is playing well around it, most of the times gives me the feeling that when I play it on turn 3 I just win the game, even against monowhite you just take a creature with the keeper and then you beat them down to death while they waste time trying to resolve the keeper.
A few things (I tend to edit my comment as I watch) LOVE the mono red song and hate. Hate on Izzet is good and natural, I take no greater pleasure than beating Izzet these days. Also, I feel your “on the draw pain” I tracked 30 games and I was on the play 10 times. Who is going first all the time to make the metrics work?!?!?
Playing the card with the eyeball on it gives it less lag. If you play one without the eyeball it lags and takes a second to register that you played a seen card. So I’ve been able to dodge cards by this method of detection.
As soon as I started watching this deck, my first Arena match of the day was AGAINST this deck. I crushed his build with the standard mono red goblins deck. Mostly because of the other player's cemetery gatekeeper (why choose an instant and then play 5 burn spells in a row?)

So, I went went back and watched it again after the outro. I don't think luck played a factor here more than any other day. This Deck simply slaps white around. Spellbinder needs to hit something bigger than a 2 or 3 mana spell. It's a risk white takes in BO1. If you can hit Hullbreaker and Epiphany, great, but a five mana Stormseeker is really not going to hurt your opponent. They're just going to draw another one or something even better. Add to that the fact that white can't block and red burn kills all their creatures. They were expecting to exile and kidnap all your stuff, not get blasted out of the sky.
Idea for mono red: The new time walk. Laugh all you want. That things take an extra turn for 1RR. That's...an embercleave. What? It's not? How so? You get to untap, draw, do more thingies, and swing again. Sounds like...ok, way more then an embercleave. But that's how you would use the card. That draw back is non-existant if you're opponent is simply tapped and ready to die.

The last opponent likes being aggro mono white but rage quits when the table turns.
Mono white players always rage. They expect you to concede on turn two, rather than actually play a game.

I think Toralf's Disciple in Alchemy would be great in this deck. It's a haste creature that also gives the deck more powerful burn potential.

Sweet deck! Monored needs some tlc. Without embercleave, it’s actually a pretty fair and fun way to play. Mono white is the new easy mode.

that's why i use crush the weak with galvanic, to have 4 damage that exile and cost only 3 mana, much better than any other removal

Hall monitor can actually decent with the only attack with 2 creature clause, as it's ability is relevant.

So, I went went back and watched it again after the outro. I don't think luck played a factor here more than any other day. This Deck simply slaps white around. Spellbinder needs to hit something bigger than a 2 or 3 mana spell. It's a risk white takes in BO1. If you can hit Hullbreaker and Epiphany, great, but a five mana Stormseeker is really not going to hurt your opponent. They're just going to draw another one or something even better. Add to that the fact that white can't block and red burn kills all their creatures. They were expecting to exile and kidnap all your stuff, not get blasted out of the sky.
Idea for mono red: The new time walk. Laugh all you want. That things take an extra turn for 1RR. That's...an embercleave. What? It's not? How so? You get to untap, draw, do more thingies, and swing again. Sounds like...ok, way more then an embercleave. But that's how you would use the card. That draw back is non-existant if you're opponent is simply tapped and ready to die.
