    Hi, the transition are called waves. In the CoP are explained! Also for the new CoP is mandatory do 2 waves in each exercise

      oo nice, i thought they were kinda random and rare, so it would be cool to see them more often from next year

    the one at 1:00 in the actual code of points is called 'dynamic balance with wave', but at my gym we always called it a 'toebreaker' (for obvious reasons lol) or a 'toe rise' :))
    also i love the backscale balance from standing too !!! i think its way easier for the gymnasts to get their handling and balance prepared by going into it from a walkover tho, hence why we dont see it as often
    but watching yana do it in that ball routine??? *chefs kiss*

    I love: Rolling tinsicas (specially the ones from Vitrychenko). Double or triple chainés (Gyong We Lee and Janine Murray were my favs), and also backscale pivots (Godunko, Bessonova and Angelova were my FAVS)... Plus, I really love Cantaluppi's masteries, she was a pioneer in many masteries and doesn't get the recognition she deserves, I think when it comes to masteries she is what Kabaeva was in flexibility and difficulty to this sport... Go back to 2004 and watch Cantaluppi's routines and you will see her doing things that gymnasts are doing these days. Sadly, back in the day those masteries didn't get much score since some of those were not covered by the code of points.

    The backscale is called simply a "dorsal" or "thorsal" (the spelling can be closer to the ancient greek ethimology or become a d) on some languages 😅
    If you turn, simple again: a turn in dorsal. Let' t take a minute to remember the first double perfectly performed by Ulyana Trofimova 🙌🏻💜

    Kabaevas move was once called "the donut", idk if it is still called like that, but I think Inna Zhukova did the best with her ball. I love it, too. The strength in the toes is just out of this world.
    Edit: I looked it up at the current CoP 2022-2024 at 10.10 "Technique for specific Balance Difficulties" and it is called "Full body wave from the floor" (this wave can be performed with or without back of the trunk, both techniques are correct). It has a value of 0.3 points right now.

      honestly it never crossed my mind it was a balance...i though it was kinda like a transition and didn't think it even was worth points lol

    That backscale balance was actually pretty common among Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts in the 80s, I think 90s, too. In the 80s there weren't many BDs and the accent was on ADs and dance steps, but the few BDs were logical and had purpose.
    Here are a few examples:

    Love the back scale thingy! I could be wrong but seems like the new ladies just aren’t as flexible or they’re trying to keep up with the super fast routines now. I liked it better before though! Kabaeva & Kanaeva

    • @kapricornss1780
      @kapricornss1780  3 роки тому +8

      yeah now they seem to preserve themselves more, i remember hearing that during kabaeva era, the injuries were severe mainly due to the intense focus on flexibility and the element combos like ending a jump with a balance

      One on the biggest issue for the new generation of gymnasts for me is that they just so often look sloppy or messy and almost never elegant. Like Kanaeva, where every move was so precise and so elegant. I tried to watch them, but I somehow can't get into them.
