True story: In 1985 I stepped foot into the first Club I had ever gone into. It was a super popular Club in Puerto Rico back in the 80s and it was actually a New Wave Club and it also was actually a Videotec, where there were a bunch of monitors playing the videos to the songs. I was just 17 at the time. When this song/video came on, I was blown away! It packed the dancefloor! That relentless beat! That energy! It's a "rock" song that packed a dancefloor??? It was just awesome! The Cult was a "Cult" band ( no pun intended). They were considered a New Wave/ Goth band. Their sound was very much "their sound". This song is one of the reasons I became hooked with New Wave/ Goth/ Industrial and Synth Pop back in the 80s!
Oh yes!!! From the first notes, this song gave us a whole dose of energy⚡️to dance the night away! Beautiful memories! Hello from Montreal, Canada! 😉😊🎶
though lyrically redundant, you couldn't not dance as soon as you heard this at the club in '84! lead singer ian asterbury is mesmerizing. your next cult song is "love removal machine".
The Cult is badass a sort of Goth rock band before the late 80s they went more rock vibe , but their stuff is awesome ! The Cults song fire woman , sweet soul sister among others
Edie Caio Baby, Revolution, Go West, Love Removal Machine. The list is endless. Pity their issues stopped them from reaching the heights they deserved. And I am a Cult fan since their earliest days of Dreamtime saying this. Plus the Howling mix of this song is unbelievable.
The Cult is a very underrated band. Their sound evolved into more classical rock of the late 80s / early 90s with their later records but songs from their first albums are more into this alternative rock indie. Would suggest ‘Rain’ as another great single or ‘Spiritwalker’ and ‘Big Neon Glitter’. Any singles from their later albums are really cool too but more classic rock, as mentioned before.
i did not know THE CULT at all . i just discovered it now ! for me, it sound like someone put the cursor between U2 and INXS .. Between/From irish rock to Australian rock.
Hey Dereck, Romeo Void and The Cult - you dug up a couple of good ones. Please try “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo and The Bunnymen or “This Corrosion” by The Sisters of Mercy.
My favorite song of all time. There is 80s music and then there is this. Way before it’s time and timeless. Saw them last week finally for the first time in Italy and it was fantastic! Such an underrated band.
The Cult were always a solid band, they had some big albums back in the day that still hold up. Production on Sonic Temple was also top-notch but they were great live too.
Ian Astbury brought me here! I'm sure digging your vibe and plan on taking a deep dive into your Chanel for sure. The Cult is surely one of my top favorite bands of ALL TIME, I'd surely love to see you react to their song Rain!
Dozens and dozens of great bands, with numerous, incredible songs in the 80’s. Keep exploring New Wave scene. We were so fortunate to be teens in the 80’s.
So in the dorms at university my buddy next door set his super amazing sound system to auto play this album Love on auto at full volume and left for a week. So we listened to this song and others so loud it rattled your tooth brush off the sink.. and we were cool with it .. Great song and great album.
Can you please react to Allure- All cried out PM Dawn- I’d die without you PM Dawn- Patient eyes Son By Four- Purest of Pain Evanescence- My Immortal Digable Planets- Rebirth of slick (cool like that) Seal- Kiss from a Rose
One of Ian's best songs ever was in a collaboration with UNKLE, "Burn My Shadow". Now that I have expanded your knowledge, you need to give this Cult song its due. Play it loud and dance your legs off like no one is watching
This Song kicks Ass! Truly one of the best Rock Songs in my lifetime and never get tired of hearing this!
Accurate assessment. :)
Its is great but its alternative dance not rock

Had a major crush on Ian Astbury back in the days😄. The Cult rocks and I still love this track🤘. Check out Sisters of mercy 🖤
Absolutely danced my ass off to this back in the day. It was played everywhere...An absolute belter of a tune which still sounds brilliant.
80's will never be matched for Music creativity and just being Free, well maybe 70's also but more the 80's to me. Great Band and Song!
I love "Rain" from them...great songs
Love this song, it used to pack the floor on alternative music nights at the clubs. Great beat!
Oh yes!!! From the first notes, this song gave us a whole dose of energy⚡️to dance the night away! Beautiful memories! Hello from Montreal, Canada! 😉😊🎶
It used to pack floors in all clubs where I lived (Montreal, salut Sylvie, hehe).
@@Blackmallowtube Yeah, everyone loved it!
pack the alternative kids and the rockers on one dance floor....
@@Blackmallowtube 👍😁
Ian Astbury's vocals are world class and unique. Underrated frontman. He is still singing powerfully today. Great band.
If you go down the Cult rabbit hole, "Fire Woman" is a must!!! :)
Dreamtime Live at the Lyceum is a must!
Yes!!!
Rain and Lil Devil are also great hits by the cult
though lyrically redundant, you couldn't not dance as soon as you heard this at the club in '84! lead singer ian asterbury is mesmerizing. your next cult song is "love removal machine".

I was late to "the cult" party. Have been a fan since. They have several standout tracks. I really like the singer's style of singing.
8o's all the way. Big hit on the New Wave Dance floor when it came out. Nice contrast from the heavy synth music that mostly dominated.
The Cult is really a 🇬🇧 . . . cult band ! Thank you !!
You should check out Fire Woman from the album Sonic Temple by them it's my second favourite after this one.

They’re still going strong today and released an album last October called “Under the Midnight Sun”.
i did not know THE CULT at all . i just discovered it now ! for me, it sound like someone put the cursor between U2 and INXS .. Between/From irish rock to Australian rock.
Hey Dereck, Romeo Void and The Cult - you dug up a couple of good ones. Please try “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo and The Bunnymen or “This Corrosion” by The Sisters of Mercy.
Thank god for underground clubs in 80s
Thank God for the 80s!
Give a try to Wild Flower, you won't be disappointed. That's how I got to love this band...and never stop loving them since
Love this song. Other alternative 80s The Cure, A Forest, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Killing Moon and Bauhaus, She's in parties.
Echo! First 4 albums are gold. Cheers
Ahhh...driving in Vice City with this playing loud...such gaming memories
My favorite song of all time. There is 80s music and then there is this. Way before it’s time and timeless. Saw them last week finally for the first time in Italy and it was fantastic! Such an underrated band.
Love Removal Machine!!!! Kicks ass!
IMO, one of the greatest rock songs ever!!! That energy and those guitars are incredible. Great reaction.
The Cult were always a solid band, they had some big albums back in the day that still hold up. Production on Sonic Temple was also top-notch but they were great live too.
I’m so old, I saw them live at the Beacon Theater in NYC in 1986 I believe. I was 24, gonna be 61 in a week.

She Sells Sanctuary - kick ass song!
Goth is not dead!
The Witch is a fantastic track, totally different ❤
Other great tunes off the beaten track: Red Jesus, Little Face, Libertine, Zap City, Ressurection Joe.
My favourite song from them is "Spiritwalker".
Great car song 😎
Fire Woman was one of their big hits. Be sure to watch original video. This video is when they were young. Fire Women their older.
Love The Cult.

They just released a record a few months ago - one of the their better ones in the past 30 years.....

I love Bad medicine walz, a master piece !!!
Yes his voice is quite unique !
Ian always commands my attention....
YES!❤❤❤
“Love Removal Machine” and “Edie (Caio Baby)” are must hear Cult songs.
LOL. He's not a pirate. He's a hippie. it's a total throwback to the 60s. The whole album is.
Shortly after this, Axl Rose started wearing the same kind of scarf on his head.
We had so good music . The 60 and the 70 , 80 , and 90 . So bad the young don't create good original music like them . Louise
When this song came out in 1985 it was at the height of Mtv and I was 28 years old. If you like this song check there hit called Rain!
Even though it is a straight on rock song it was HUGE in the dance clubs back in the 80's
*"In the clouds"* is a great jam by the Cult. Check it out!
Assault on Sanctuary is...extremely well-named!
"It works" Wow Dereck,..what a deep analysis.
One of my faves.back in the day
Try "Rain" "Dark Angel""Brother Wolf"...

The Howling mix ..it's dead giveaway. Maybe you know who Howling Wolf was..maybe you a noob. 😅
A superb song from my youth in Scotland, albeit a marvellous English band. This number just lifts the soul. 💥💙♥✊🏻
Another great band from the 80-ies Killing Joke with the song Love like blood (1985).
Music is derivative, I don't believe they were missed by 90s grunge, certainly not by the wonderful Soundgarden
I LOVE how you turned the volume up after it started. It's imposible to listen to this song without doing that.
Instantly turns up the volume, swaying and air guitar….. its impossible not to have that reaction to this song!
hey there, the new album "Hotel Miranda!" releases today, it would awesome if you reacted to some of their music videos.
Mark Brzezicki from Big Country on drums.
Fire Woman for sure!!!! Epic song!
Great 80’s band no doubt!
Are you Derrick with an oil?
try and look surprised son ffs!
React to The Way, by Stryper.
