On evolving pets - I have seen aberrant pets evolve when they get high attributes. Although when i did it for my ordinary pet, it did not evolve. So either its only available to aberrant pets or there are other factors like passive skills etc which migh be affecting the outcome.

I sold every normal familiar and I purchased any rare familiar with traits active already in market. So far I got 2 from market for 16k plat with total 6 traits active.

Good time to sell as anything reasonable might sell fast.
Note that In bond slots the traits will be active only if they are legendary or utility traits.

@@siddgang hmm, are you sure? I got 2 rares, both of them active in bond and they are not utility trait. Under traits guide, it show 6/11 active traits.

@@siddgangTraits in bond slots are active if your pets have enough attributes value.

@@aungk000 You are right. But only advanced traits stack. Common ones dont. So duplicates of common traits won’t add anything extra.

@@fredysugianto6357 it must be all 6 different traits. So all should be active. My bad. But if they are like repetitive it wont stack, As per the tool tip. Eg life increase on 2 familiar might not stack if both traits are common. Saying based on the tool tip

you can "evolve" pets via the stat exchange at vendor. you can turn blue pet gold or orange by transferring stats from a yellow/ gold pet. even in some cases make a orange aberrant if transferring from a yellow normal pet with a 170+ attribute score to an aberrant

Not fully true. If you check just from 10:30 to 11:30 section of this video i have done it.
      ua-cam.com/video/SCqO7LWA7dI/v-deo.htmlsi=vA1zUbG4Sh1MV8re
Just pause the video when i show the fam after exchange attributes. It remains blue.
I have learnt that its not just attributes that will evolve pets. I think you need skills as well to be rare. Or maybe it works on aberrant pet only? Still not 100% sure

I can confirm from my experience that evolving to legendary pet works. It just works from ordinary gold to abberant legendary. I used blue aberrant and it became legendary when exchanged attribute from ordinary gold which had 1 attribute over 170. 😊

11:51 Ordinary pets can't have legendary passive skills or advanced traits. Needs to be aberrant.
Conversion pulls a random rarity like when you use a summoning pact. Look at it like it's a legendary crest with fixed chances of getting a legendary gem. But you can increase the chances of getting certain passive skills by sacrificing multiple copies of those. The highest possible rarity of the passive skills is determined by the highest rarity of passive skills sacrificed, which is yellow in ordinary conversion because, as stated above, ordinaries can't have legendary passive skills.
Ordinary conversion has a 10% chance to grant 1 utility trait. If you hit the jackpot, it'd be an aberrant with 4 advanced traits + salvage. I have yet to figure out how a pet can have 6 traits.
Melding for +1 attributes is not meant for activating traits but for increasing the power of a pet's passive skills. You should only use this when you have a companion you are planning to keep for a long time or sell for a good chunk. If you just wanna activate traits on bond slots, use attribute exchange instead. It's way cheaper overall. You will need to meld a yellow into your blue at 119 attributes to activate the trait. Might as well use exchange at the earliest stage.

Here is my question. Has Blizzard provided any official definitive concise instruction guide for utilising and upgrading familiars?

It will get the others rarity in transfer. Had a yellow and a blue with full traits yellow but inactive so i converted: used blue on left and yellow on right(left takes the right i guess) and ended up with full yellow traits of the left but stats and rarity of the right (yellow)

Are you sure that only legendary traits are active for bonded pets? I think ALL traits are active, even rare/ yellow ones, as long as the pet with that trait has high enough attributes to activate it (120 for yellow, 170 for legendary).

All traits are active 👍🏻 legendary ones stack, common ones don’t

The 1.2m pet in the market has saviour skill. That’s why it is so expensive
