- The Malaysian king has ordered an immediate and thorough police investigation into allegations of child abuse and crimes that have shocked the nation. Last week, police carried out raids at 20 care homes and rescued over 400 children who were allegedly exploited and sexually abused. The victims are aged between one and 17 years old. The welfare homes are believed to be linked to Islamic conglomerate Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB). Afifah Ariffin reports from Kuala Lumpur.
Heard that the first allegation was in 2011, it has been over 13 years now. Scary and concerning.
It's been said they have substantial influence in levels of NGOs, govt agencies and political leaders, so it needed political will to go after this group...that's what the current govt has done.
Without the king's order, nobody will carry out a thorough investigation.😂😂
and usually when the palace takes notice on a crime, the criminals are usually done for.
When the King is alarmed, the findings by the police would take 2 weeks. If not, it could take longer? 😂

2 weeks is the maximum remand period by laws, which the accused can be held in police lock up, so this means its a serious offence that requires thorough investigation. Read more please pffftttt
