Even if you're not a fan of Boros decks, I highly recommend watching the first 19 minutes of this video. It lays the groundwork for why the player chose this particular deck and showcases just how wholesome he is. Rather than getting upset when facing a tough opponent, he responds with genuine admiration, saying 'Oh wow, nice deck. I love it. I wanna try it myself!' It's truly inspiring to see such a positive mindset in the face of adversity. I wish I could adopt that same mentality - losing tends to drain my IQ and brain cells!
For the first loss, you had 3 immodanes that you could've just used as fireballs basically. Should add up to 20 damage over 2 turns (demolition + immodane, then double immodane the turn after)
- There's a standard play-in and I never play standard, guess I'll play boros - Oooh cool deck you got opponent, let's learn to play it directly in the freaking play-in - Profit
I decided to play monored yesterday because everytime I play a different deck in standard I come to the conclusion that it sucks unless you draw the nuts (esp. boros) and go back to monored because it just does its thing and can be more flexible than you would think, just by adjusting HOW you play. The 2past years of playing monored nearly daily vs every single deck out there paid off and I went 6-1. I believe the current monored list that has been nearly unchanged for 2 years is still the all around best deck in Best-of-one standard. I can't wait to go 0 wins in BO3 next week 😅
I try to have fun playing Magic but Arena is destroying that. I finished last season at Diamond 1, just as I had the previous season, with a deck that was winning 70-75 percent. Since the new season started, using the same deck, I have been stuck on Platinum 4 and have only moved to Platinum 3 twice and then proceeded to lose 6 games in a row both times. Today was a serious low, so far I have 6 wins and 24 loses stuck at the bottom of Platinum 4. I have tried several of my decks, it does not matter, every-one loses. Something similar happened last season after I got to 4 wins in Diamond 2 over the next week I got enough loses to be at Diamond 4 with 0 wins but recovered from that. It also occurred 2 seasons ago and in that one I just quit playing ranked for a while. I love to play Magic but frustrating shit like this makes me want to delete my account and find some other nonproductive way to waste my time.
The Worldsoul's Rage deck needs at least 1 Malevolent Hermit in B01. That card would make the deck's strategy closer to airtight. Can't counter the end game, disrupt important mid-range deck game noncreature spells
"How did I get to 7 wins with white blue control?" [Slow realization everybody is just playing aggro and gimmicks like roots and worldsoul] "I feel kind of dirty, but...."
As a experienced alchemy player every time I see Naya convoke I scream internally. Surely you standard folks don't have to deal with that nonse...oh wait.
I hate that durdly Worldsoul's Rage deck with a passion of a thousand burning suns, but not because of its concept. Rather, I hate how long each of the OP's turns take.
I friggin hate this white/red deck. Whenever i try to play my fun standard recursion deck, I get matched up with either this boros deck or that stupid red aggro deck. Standard is so not fun now
Boros too boring? Check out 00:19:24
I play standard most of the time and watching Nummy parse these decks I've seen a hundred times or more is pretty fascinating.
He could have won game 2 tho, if he went aggressive in his final turns

Would have liked to see the matchup against Ben Stark!
Loved it. Great spot on the life gain in the last match.
kinda lol that the first part of the vid is boros before moving on to a more interesting (and i would guess more successful as well) deck
18:20 you always go after the evangelist instead of the 4/4 because that’s an extra +1/0 to everyone
Yeah, having all the damage on one creature is easier to control than spread out across the board. I was surprised he killed the 4/4 he could chump
Love this deck and love watching you play standard!

Okay, crazy, you played against two Pro Tour winners back to back in Autumn Burchett and Ben Stark😮
Love this deck ! I've been playing it for few days and it does pretty funny things. I've had doppelgang for even more fun !
Doppelgang hitting virtue to generate literally thousands of mana per land and breaking the mtga client is how you know a deck is actually fun
Really awesome video. Great games and fun gameplay. Thanks for all the amazing content.
At 26:00 you should have played Virtue and a blocker and then Worldsoul Rage next turn for lethal.
That Worldsoul's Rage deck looks pretty fun... I'm pretty sure my friends would hate it for me to play it... so much shuffling IRL!

this thing needed a 'ARE YOU NOT AMUSED' clip in there somewhere

I first thought he was saying Boros Convoke was the #1 fun deck in standard, and I was SEVERELY questioning his idea of fun... :D
They had us in the first half...
Nice match against autumn birchett

Excelente Game!!!
Nummy Constructed arc!?

Would Lier work better or worse than Hermit?

congrats!
maybe 21 lands and 1 more warleader ?
Let's go!

yeah each land trigger taking 3 seconds is brutal
1:27:09 Damn she fine

Stop playing best of one.
