No, its works with 4K. I use a BMD UltraStudio 4K mini for input and output of UHD 50p on MacBook Pro M1 Max and MacMini M1 and M2. I also use a HDMI to SDI 12G converter to output PowerPoint in 4K and 50 fps. No Problems at all.
Will give it a try!
