@stevekonbass Thank you. I just finished digging out my old Fender Frontline catalogs I forgot I have, and found they were Strat knobs on the MIM Standards until the 2002 catalog.
How are you getting on with your Rumble 500 now you've had it a while? Thinking about buying one, but would love to hear what your experience has been like so far?
It's been great. No problems. I've done somewhere in the neighborhood of 220 gigs with it so far, each gig running about 3 hours.... so, it's gotten a lot of use and there's been a lot of unloading and loading in my vehicle and being subjected to the elements. A good amount of these gigs were outdoors. The grill and enclosure has held up well. It sounds as good as the day I bought it. I can dial in the tone for each room I play and I have plenty of volume. It's still a baby as far as I'm concerned and I hope to get years of use out of it.
Thanks a mill for the reply!! That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. Lots of moving around, loading, unloading, and various size rooms to play in and to account for here too. I have a smaller rumble so I know I love the sound!! Thanks again, and may it serve you well long into the future.
I bought my 5 string jazz almost 19 years ago. I had some mods done to it for the way I play. but I love it...
Purchased at Guitar Center
Great demo! Sounded awesome. Thanks. I've been eyeballing a bass like this. Keep the videos coming. I just subscribed. Good luck!
Thanks man.
Sounds great. Nice demo too.
Thanks!
Are the knobs that are labeled Volume, volume, tone (Strat knobs) original to this 2000 MIM? My 2000 has regular Jazz knobs.
Yes.

I wish the new Player Series MIM Jazz Bass sounded this warm, smooth & well-balanced!
- It's just all about spanky percussive funk tones now.
I tell ya what, I've played new Americans and wasn't impressed. This MIM I like a lot better and is still one of my main basses.
Excellent
I have the same one from 99 I currently have it strung with flats
I like the sound of flats. I have my Hofner Club Bass strung with flats.
stevekonbass yeah man flats are where it’s at!
